CT Procedures as a DR
Hey y’all, R2 here with a career question. I go to a program with solid light-IR training, all the DRs come out super comfortable with paras, thoras, LPs, arthros, thyroid FNAs, etc. We also have the option to come out pretty solid at CT procedures if we throw in elective time into it and, other than enjoying short procedures, I really like the marketability aspect. I enjoy solid organ biopsies and drain placements but am finding I despise lung biopsies from a technical and complication stand point. From a job recruitment perspective, is there any point in getting proficient at CT procedures if I refuse to do lung biopsies? Would you hire someone like that or is it more of a “you either do them all or you don’t do any” kind of thing? I fucking hate lung biopsies. Thank you!
