  • Teleradiology workstation Xeon vs. i7

Posted by belka88.266_225 on January 5, 2023 at 4:17 pm

Currently have a home workstation with Xeon Silver 4210 workstation, Windows 7 (!), 32 gb RAM, AMD® Radeon Pro WX 3200, 4 GB GDDR5, 4 mDP video card.   3 monitor configuration.   Runs Intelerad/Clario with Fluency voice dictation.

Wanted another workstation for another office but was curious if any experts could recommend a cheaper alternative, specifically the workstation.   Can I use an I7 or Ryzen 7 processor with similar stats?

    Yes….shouldn’t be an issue.

Don’t cheap out on a CPU, RAM, or NVRAM drive.  As I recall Fluency has a recommended passmark score for where they like there CPU to be at or above.  Plus you want to exceed it since you have PACS, and all the trimmings running.

We went Core i9 which was like a passmark of 25k.

I can say this we actually found a real issue with Xeons and how they handled SSL traffic.  We had a weekly call with HP and Intel for a while because SSL traffic would sink the performance of HP with a certain Xeon proc we were using.
