  • Breast Imaging Fellowship available

    Hello 2021 Residents.  I am posting this for our management group client, Medical Center Radiologists, in Norfolk VA.  Their Hospital has an open breast imaging fellowship spot if anyone is still looking for 2021-2022.
     
    [u][b]Fellowship Description[/b][/u]
    A one-year fellowship position at the Sentara Brock Cancer Center, Norfolk VA, in conjunction with Eastern Virginia Medical School is available beginning July 2021.  Breast imaging services are provided at the Sentara Comprehensive Breast Care Center at the new Brock Cancer Center. The center utilizes state of the art equipment and techniques including digital mammography,  breast tomosynthesis, breast ultrasound,and a high field 3T MRI with dedicated breast coil.
    The fellowship is a one year non-accredited program that provides a large volume and variety of screening and diagnostic mammograms, breast ultrasounds, and breast MRIs. Fellows will gain experience in interventional procedures, preoperative needle localizations, stereotactic, ultrasound, and MRI-guided biopsies, cyst and abscess drainage, and ductograms.
     
    Fellows participate in the Multidisciplinary Tumor Conference at the Sentara Brock Cancer Center. In addition, fellows are expected to engage in some resident teaching. Fellows also rotate through electives in Breast Surgery, Radiation Oncology, and Pathology.  There are no night or weekend duties.

    Requirements: Candidates should have successfully completed an ACGME-accredited Diagnostic Radiology residency program in the United States or an RCPSC-accredited or CFPC-accredited residency program in Canada, have board eligibility or board certification in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology, satisfactory completion of the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) Steps 1, 2, and, if eligible, Step 3, have permanent residency status or citizenship in the United States.
