Stanford Body MRI Fellowship for Academic Year 2025-2026
We are currently accepting applications to the Stanford Body MRI Fellowship for the 2025-2026 academic year.
The fellowship experience is a balanced mix of high-volume clinical interpretation, consultation with referring clinicians, scanner-side exam optimization and troubleshooting, MR-guided procedures, translational research, and teaching. The clinical service consists of a broad variety of challenging cases and strong interactions with referring clinicians. Fellows will work with dedicated body MRI faculty who have focused interests in body MR techniques, interpretation, and research.
Equipment includes 17 clinical 3T magnets (including two used for image-guided procedures), 3 clinical 1.5T magnets, 2 clinical PET-MR systems, and MR-guided focused ultrasound systems. The vendor mix is predominantly GE, but also includes Siemens and Philips scanners. In addition, the world-renown Lucas Center for Imaging is directly adjacent to the hospitals, and is the home of the research teams of twelve faculty. The facility houses two 3T systems, a 7T system, a PET/MR, MR-guided focused ultrasound systems, and a hyperpolarizer.
By the end of the fellowship, trainees will have a comprehensive and deep understanding of abdominal/pelvic diseases, MR technologies/physics, MR-guided procedures, MR equipment and safety, and research methodologies. Prior trainees have gone on to successful careers following the completion of the fellowship, with the majority developing academic research programs or serving as medical directors for MRI in private practice settings.
Applications will be considered starting approximately 19 months prior to the start of the fellowship. We are following SCARD guidelines, and will begin accepting applications for the fellowship year 2025-2026 starting on November 1st 2023. You will be contacted if selected for an interview. For the fellowship year 2025-2026, interviews will start on January 8th 2024.
