it is not about censorship…it about breech of protocol and the continued shade that this President has received from people on the right and Bibi(chose to support the wrong person in 2 elections/did not go to Mandela’s funeral..shows a pattern ..imho).
intolerance is the GOP trying to prevent certain segments of American voters from voting…like Axlerod’s claims Mitt was like oh you got your peeps out to vote..the electoral college was always more Obama..he earned re-electionQuote from aldadoc
Liberals love censorship. Such intolerance!
Noah, are you any chance an administrator at Brandeis University?
-
and Bibi we hope not is not an idiot..he and Dermer if they can add 2 plus 2 would know appropriate protocol and timing.. I mean then again he did show up with a cartoon at the UN
Quote from Thor
Like it or not the invitation was cooked up by Dermer and Boehner without consulting Dems. Read carefully (I know you don’t do it) the WH apparently was notified before Netanyahu formally accepted but after the invitation was already given. We don’t know if he was asked not to accept and did so anyway. The admin has been very clear on the concerns related to timing
BTW Bibi can stand on any soapbox he wants and give a speech nobody is preventing him from that; there is no need to parade him in front of Congress so that he can give a campaign speech for his re-election; so your whining of speech suppression is rather hollow
-
The cartoon allowed Netanyahu to speak down to the level of liberals.
I just love the way you gentlemen try to slime your way out of falling for an absolute lie from your beloved administration. Their entire pile of bluster, the threats about prices to pay, all of that…pure unadulterated bullsh*t from the community organizers. And you fools gobble it up like candy. G-d help you.-
the cartoon made him look ridiculous..Andrea Mitchell chuckled the entire time she reported on the prime minister and his cartoon

So it turns out there was no protocol issue. Certainly a lot of hot air expended on this non-issue.
-
it was misuse of the USA congress for a re-election…Hollande told him already my country is not a platform for your re-election/don’t come and the arrogant Bibi went anyway..so why should our country be use for his re-election..BOYCOTT
frankly someone who brings a simplistic cartoon on a discussion on Iran and nucs has already disqualified themselves as an expert on the issue..sadly the speaker fell for the manipulation-
Quote from Noah’sArk
it was misuse of the USA congress for a re-election…
He is not running for office in the US, is he ?

Liberals always look down on conservatives. You view us as knuckle-dragging Neanderthals in desperate need of your superior intellect and guidance. Thus, the best possible form of government would be some consortium of liberal intellectuals doing the heavy mental lifting for the rest of us who are completely and totally incapable of running our own lives.
Angela Merkel came to the US quite near the time of one of her elections and won. Shimon Peres, former Israeli Prime Minister came to the US at a similar juncture and lost.
What the liberals are REALLY afraid of is just how bad Mr. Netanyahu makes Mr. Obama look. He speaks well, with the clear conviction of his beliefs. If by some quirk of fate he was able to run for the Presidency of the US, he would win. Except the Jews wouldn’t vote for him.
The NYT correction/retraction takes all the hot air out of the bellicose bellowing from the Left. Mr. Boehner has the right to schedule the talk. That is not in dispute. That Mr. Obama’s minions (obviously parroting what they were told) proceeded to make explicit threats to Netanyahu over something not his doing tells us just how petulant, childish, and incompetent this administration is and always has been. It has become a personal pi$$ing contest on the part of the President of the United States, who realizes when he is completely outclassed, but cannot admit it, yet another world-wide embarrassment for Americans.-

By the way, who is Andrea Mitchell? Must be another MSNBC anchor with an audience of two. -
trust me he would be another Mitt if he ran here: a repeat loser!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But Pat Buchanan
Once called Congress Israeli occupied territory.I think on that point, he was pretty much on the money.
Netanyahu’s Congress speech will be pretty much like when Kim Jong In addresses the North Korean parliament – if the parliamentarians know what’s good for them, they better cheer, hoot, jump up and down and fawn all over the Supreme Leader if they know what’s good for them.
Of course at least here, they won’t get arrested for not kowtowing to the Supreme Leader.
But every one in Congress knows who’s really in charge and how they have to behave if they want to keep their seat.

It’s volue 1 chapter XI of ‘Mein Kampf’, I am sure you have a copy handy.-
would Bibi do this to a white President…don’t think so given his prior acts so is congress supporting racism …look who the GOP had replace Cantor

Quote from fw
Still blathering on about this non-issue ?
I don’t think it’s a non-issue. A manufactured maybe, but not a non-issue. The US/Israeli relationship is an important geopolitical issue and the individual animosity between the leadership of each country has the potential to effect things on the ground should the relationship continue to deteriorate.
The increasing role of partisanship in the US/Israel relationship also is a significant issue.
The spat over the speech, while a little thing in and of itself adds to already embittered relations and partisanship, making it more difficult to “reset” the dynamics.
____
The situation remains fluid now with reports that Netanyahu is considering modifications to the speech and more and more democrats announcing they will not attend.
Will we be talking about this story in a year? No. But for a few more weeks? Yeah. And will there be some other snub going one way or the other in the coming months? Almost certainly.-
Quote from dergon

I know there are a some partisan activists who want the relationship to be ’embittered’, but the leader of the country adressing the parliament of another country sugests that it is anything but.The situation remains fluid now with reports that Netanyahu is considering modifications to the speech and more and more democrats announcing they will not attend.
Their loss.-
in truth 2 F 16’s should politely surround Bibi’s plane and say US law has been broken and this plane cannot land in the US please abort
that’s how you address racist bullies like Bibi-
Noah, you are an utter fool. No laws have been or will be broken. Get back to your mommys basement before she notices you escaped.
I find it very amusing that the two biggest racists in this entire board are those of color.
Yeah, Jews run congress, and the only reason anyone disagrees with Mr Obama is that he is black, well half black but who’s counting? The fact that he is a communist-trained one world anticolonial mealy mouthed TelePrompTer dependent Moslem-brotherhood supporting milquetoast empty suit couldn’t possibly have anything to do with it.

I don’t get any fuzzy feeling from pointing out just how far you’ve slipped from rationality. It’s rather sad, really.
I have never called you the “n” word or any other word than anti-Semite which is an epithet you have earned with your incoherent rants. I really don’t care what color you are or aren’t. That is superficial to the person you are inside, which through your own incredibly odd and belligerent behavior proves to be someone you probably shouldn’t have exposed to the rest of the world.
I don’t play golf and I don’t need to pay $30k to barge into the country club across the street. My self worth does not depend on what some old rednecks think of me. Clearly YOUR are devastated by some similar episode that happened to you dozens of years ago. But when those rednecks round the 12th fairway, they get a great view of my house which is most likely much more expensive than theirs. WhoopDieDo.

please hunbun why did you put it in the post/fraudian slip say…now your hate has turned into characterizing people in a whole town with another denigrating term..No hun bun u have had 2 many pot meet kettle moments..put out negative/karma comes back..look at your hero Bib(nothing but negativity since he forced himself into Paris/karma catches

I’ve never heard of Alex Jones, thank you.
Let’s see now. Treason? Hard for a foreign national to commit treason in the US, isn’t it? So are you accusing the Speaker of the House of treason? There is only one branch of government approachingbthat, and it isn’t the Legislative or the judicial.
Funny how the racists want to use that term against anyone who disagrees with their madness. For Noah, anything negative about Mr. Obama MUST be because if the color of his skin and not that he is incompetent. I do believe someone is projecting his own ennui on others. -

At least if a lib Jewish group like J Street had as much influence over Congress as AIPAC did, we’d all be better off.
Now DrDalai will tell you J Street are a bunch of self hating commie Jews, but by now, we know that according to DrDalai, there are 3 types of people in the world
1. Kahane supporters

3. Non Jews who don’t fall into category number one are anti-Semites.

I think fairness dictates that left leaning Israeli leaders like the leader of the Meretz party and Isaac Herzog should also have been invited to address a joint session of Congress.
Oh I forgot – left leaning Israeli leaders are self hating Jews who don’t understand what it means to be a real Jew.

I just agree with Obama’s statement the Angela would never ask..leaders know protocol..and again I say if the President was George Bush would Bibi still come

Thor lies as usual. I guess being liberal means never having to say you’re sorry, or tell the truth. Honest readers know or can discover who actually says what around here but keep in mind that the Lefties don’t really care, as long as their agenda is furthered.
Noah is clearly mentally ill. I’ll not banter with him anymore, lest he accuse me of calling him the N word….wait, he already did! Our gentle readers can check back and see that poor Noah has completely lost it. Noah, buddy, pal, please bring a note from your psychiatrist before you address me again. You’re dangerous to yourself and probably others in your current state.
SadRad tries his usual pitiful attempt to hide behind shades of rhetoric. “Oh, we don’t hate the JEWS, we just hate the Zionists, I mean the Likud, I mean Netanyahu, I mean, I mean, I mean…” And on and on and on, with mocking statements galore. The Liberals here are masters of Straw-Man arguments, and putting words into the mouths of anyone not part of their delusional world-view. But Saddy is getting a little feisty, and that makes me marginally proud of him; at least he’s finally showing some cojones, rather than sticking to the usual sniveling, whiney, milquetoast everyone-sit-together-and-sing-Kumbayah one-world socialist cr@p. And lest he bleat and whine that I’ve called him a socialist, he has referred to himself as such many times.
Again we have the basest of racism on display here, and perhaps not surprisingly from some of our members of color. (THEY have described themselves in this manner, so don’t bother getting upset with my pointing this out.) Netanyahu, via the Likud, controls AIPAC which controls the United States Congress? This is the most vile anti-semitic meme, straight from the “Protocols of the Elders of Zion”, statements worthy only of the scorn of the readers. I would call for him to be banned, but frankly it amuses me to watch someone who wants to be such a savior of humanity reveal himself so clearly to be nothing more than a putrid little racist, an anti-Semite no matter how much this is denied. First he aligns himself with the White Supremacist David Duke, now the anti-Semitic Pat Buchanan. What’s next? Are you going to post a snap of your autographed copy of Mein Kampf? Sonny, your only struggle (Kampf) is with your demons, and I’m sorry to say, they are winning.
Kahane is long dead, murdered, which I’m sure makes some of you happy. He was an extremist, and Saddy’s mocking little categorization is almost funny. Saddy knows exactly what his jaundiced views make him, but he cannot tolerate the mental strain of trying to be savior and racist all at once.-
That Foxman takes on the Warsaw Ghetto mentality is an embarassment to Jews everywhere.
Gee Dalai it was only a couple of days ago you said that….btw no condemnation from you of the three Muslims killed in Chapel Hill? -
pitiful..trying to save face but you can’t denigrate the people in your neighborhood with a slur and then cry wolf
you spread nothing but fairy tales
Your world view is:1) kiss Bibbi/s a
2) self-hater or 3) ant-semite. or 4) red..won’t say the slur because it is racist(pot meet kettle)

Please check out the link for the Council for the National Interest – this an organization of patriotic Americans of all races and relgions – including patriotic Americans of the Jewish faith.
The Council is dedicated to creating an American foreign policy that serves American interests, not those of a foreign power.
I am not an Israel firster – I am proud to be an American firster and laster.
Unlike some posters on this Board who hold US citizenship but have their primary allegiance to another country (please note – I am not naming any names) , I am an American patriot whose sole loyalty is to America.
All American patriots of all religions (including the ancient, learned and noble Jewish faith) need to ensure that American foreign policy serves American interests first and last.

Oh, dear. It seems that SadRad, whom I shall from here on out refer to as the Putrid Anti-Semitic Socialist Racist Bigot, or PASSRB, did not read my instructions clearly. Every single “source” of information he has discovered is so clearly Anti-Semitic it will make your head spin.
Where do we start, where do we start…. Hmmmm..
OK, for the opening act, I do believe I was told that the Wiki is not a proper source of information. Guess PASSRB believes otherwise. And then doesn’t even read what he posts. “Critics say…” Well, Duh. Critics say people from certain subcontinents don’t bathe very often, but then they are critics, aren’t they?
But since the WiKi is acceptable to PASSRB, let us see what we can find about this wonderful Council he cites. If it sounds familiar, it is. In PASSRB’s hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of anti-Semitic posts, he has mentioned them before. Here is the Wiki entry:
[link=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Council_for_the_National_Interest]http://en.wikipedia.org/w…_the_National_Interest[/link]
An excerpt:
[blockquote] [link=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abdurahman_Alamoudi]Abdurahman Alamoudi[/link], a member of the CNIF Board of Directors, stated at a rally on October 28, 2000, against Israel in [link=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lafayette_Square,_Washington,_D.C.]Lafayette Park[/link], across from the White House: “‘Hear that, Bill Clinton! We are all supporters of [link=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamas]Hamas[/link]. I wish they add that I am also a supporter of [link=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hizballah]Hizballah[/link].”[link=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Council_for_the_National_Interest#cite_note-57][57][/link][/sup][link=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Council_for_the_National_Interest#cite_note-58][58][/link][/sup][link=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Council_for_the_National_Interest#cite_note-59][59][/link][/sup][link=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Council_for_the_National_Interest#cite_note-60][60][/link][/sup]
In 2004, Alamoudi pled guilty to financial and conspiracy charges related to terrorism and was subsequently sentenced to 23 years in prison.[link=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Council_for_the_National_Interest#cite_note-AL-Ahram-61][61][/link][/sup] Eugene Bird explained that at the time he joined CNI Alamoudi was a highly regarded Muslim spokesperson who worked with the [link=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Department_of_State]United States Department of State[/link]. As soon as Alamoudi was convicted, CNI asked him to leave its board.[link=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Council_for_the_National_Interest#cite_note-Unfair-62][62][/link][/sup]
[/blockquote] Google away and you’ll find that a lot of CNI’s talking points are PASSRB’s talking points, which is one heck of a vote of confidence from someone who also borrows from other blatant anti-semites such as David Duke and Pat Buchanan. Put this back in the garbage with your other hateful thoughts.
Oh, lest we forget PASSRB’s other “new” source of hate speech…John Mearsheimer, although he managed to leave out Mearsheimer’s partner in crime, Steven Walt, who coauthored the anti-semitic book cited above. I’m actually surprised PASSRB can’t find anything else to justify his racism and bigotry; the web is full of delusional mental manure of this calibre, and PASSRB loves to wallow in it, like a good little bigot.
So having been shown to be a putrid racist bigot, which is so very difficult to reconcile with the personna of the wide-eyed delusional socialist dreamer, PASSRB tries another dodge…
[blockquote] Unlike some posters on this Board who hold US citizenship but have their primary allegiance to another country (please note – I am not naming any names) , I am an American patriot whose sole loyalty is to America.
All American patriots of all religions (including the ancient, learned and noble Jewish faith) need to ensure that American foreign policy serves American interests first and last.
[/blockquote] Now I’M not a patriot, not a true American. Suddenly, PASSRB is Mom, Apple pie and Chevrolet, all rolled up into one big happy immigrant, parading the flag on the Fourth of July, because he hates Israel and the Jews that live there?
[link=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Council_for_the_National_Interest]http://en.wikipedia.org/w…_the_National_Interest[/link]
An excerpt:
[blockquote][link=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abdurahman_Alamoudi]Abdurahman Alamoudi[/link], a member of the CNIF Board of Directors, stated at a rally on October 28, 2000, against Israel in [link=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lafayette_Square,_Washington,_D.C.]Lafayette Park[/link], across from the White House: “‘Hear that, Bill Clinton! We are all supporters of [link=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamas]Hamas[/link]. I wish they add that I am also a supporter of [link=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hizballah]Hizballah[/link].”[link=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Council_for_the_National_Interest#cite_note-57][57][/link][link=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Council_for_the_National_Interest#cite_note-58][58][/link][link=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Council_for_the_National_Interest#cite_note-59][59][/link][link=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Council_for_the_National_Interest#cite_note-60][60][/link]
In 2004, Alamoudi pled guilty to financial and conspiracy charges related to terrorism and was subsequently sentenced to 23 years in prison.[link=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Council_for_the_National_Interest#cite_note-AL-Ahram-61][61][/link] Eugene Bird explained that at the time he joined CNI Alamoudi was a highly regarded Muslim spokesperson who worked with the [link=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Department_of_State]United States Department of State[/link]. [/blockquote] Google away and you’ll find that a lot of CNI’s talking points are PASSRB’s talking points, which is one heck of a vote of confidence from someone who also borrows from other blatant anti-semites such as David Duke and Pat Buchanan. Put this back in the garbage with your other hateful thoughts.Oh, lest we forget PASSRB’s other “new” source of hate speech…John Mearsheimer, although he managed to leave out Mearsheimer’s partner in crime, Steven Walt, who coauthored the anti-semitic book cited above.
[blockquote]Unlike some posters on this Board who hold US citizenship but have their primary allegiance to another country (please note – I am not naming any names) , I am an American patriot whose sole loyalty is to America.
All American patriots of all religions (including the ancient, learned and noble Jewish faith) need to ensure that American foreign policy serves American interests first and last.

aipacs leaders can be immoderately frank about the groups influence. At dinner that night with Steven Rosen, I mentioned a controversy that had enveloped aipac in 1992. David Steiner, a New Jersey real-estate developer who was then serving as aipacs president, was caught on tape boasting that he had cut a deal with the Administration of George H. W. Bush to provide more aid to Israel. Steiner also said that he was negotiating with the incoming Clinton Administration over the appointment of a pro-Israel Secretary of State. We have a dozen people in hisClintonsheadquarters . . . and they are all going to get big jobs, Steiner said. Soon after the tapes existence was disclosed, Steiner resigned his post. I asked Rosen if aipac suffered a loss of influence after the Steiner affair. A half smile appeared on his face, and he pushed a napkin across the table. You see this napkin? he said. In twenty-four hours, we could have the signatures of seventy senators on this napkin.

Gee, Thor…an article from 2004. Wow.
You are absolutely correct, though, about three Muslims murdered in North Carolina. It was horrific, and smells like a hate crime against the Muslim victims. I hope the killer fries.
And we also mourn the tragic loss of Kayla Mueller (even though she had been actively working for anti Israeli organizations), and the others slaughtered by ISIS, including the Jordanian pilot burned alive. And those murdered by Al Queda. And Boko Haram. And those butchered in Darfur. And the thousands of inner city Americans killed due to drugs and gangs. And the hundreds of thousands of Syrians killed by Assad. Sadly, the list goes on and on.

So Israel is so incapable of defending itself that without the US they’d just be slaughtered? I’m on the don’t care about Bibi band wagon.
If you are quoting me, you are misquoting me. I assume Israel is quite capable of defending itself, or it would have been destroyed years ago. What I was referring to was PASSRB’s delusional idea, which has been repeated ad nauseum on these pages, of Israel disappearing and being replaced by a secular state wherein all the Muslims and Jews would supposedly live together in peace and harmony and sing Kumbayah at every meal. Lovely idea, about as practical as anything else Socialists come up with. The Arabs have made it exceedingly clear that they want all of the territory of Israel for themselves, and they want it to be Judenrein, a state free of Jews. Thus, my comment.
I’m on the “all of America should care what Mr. Netanyahu has to say” bandwagon. In the minds of the madmen who wish to develop nuclear weapons, Israel is the “little Satan” and we in America are the “Big Satan”. And they have or will develop a missile delivery system that could be used against us as well. In this circumstance, Israel is the canary in the coal mine. Ignore what Netanyahu has to say at your own peril.
What has yet to be explained on the part of those who support Mr. Obama at any and all cost is why Netanyahu is being blamed for Boehner inviting him to speak. It is clear that Netanyahu only accepted the invite AFTER it was clear that the White House had been informed of it. But the barbs are only being thrown at Netanyahu. Other leaders have visited around the time of their election, and nary a peep from the Left. Obama’s people are over in Israel right now, trying to throw the election to people who will sacrifice Israel to the great false god Obama and his narcissistic belief that he can talk his way to world peace, and manipulating an election in a nation that is not theirs. Which is exactly the sort of thing you fine Socialist gentlemen, and PASSRB who is anything but a gentleman, are having convulsions over in the false belief that AIPAC is doing something one tenth as bad. Do I even have to say why?-
Question. What makes it right for Israel or any other country to have nucs?

Quote from DICOM_Dan
Question. What makes it right for Israel or any other country to have nucs?
Wouldn’t it be nice if no one had any nuclear weapons? Well, yes, but then the first nation that rediscovers them rules the world.
The Left simply cannot understand the concept of right and wrong, of good and bad. Nuclear weapons have been deployed only once (well twice but in the same theater of war) and then as a means to end a war and limit loss of life. You may wish to argue that, but in the end, I’m correct. There has been no use of them since 1945, 70 years ago, which is remarkable in and of itself. The Soviet Union acquired the technology by spying on us, but fortunately, their leaders were sane enough to grasp the Mutually-Assured-Destruction meme. The other members of the nuclear club, with the exception of Pakistan, are hopefully equally sane. The Israelis have (probably) had a number of weapons for years. They don’t talk about them, and they certainly have never launched one.
What you Left leaning folks refuse to grasp is that there are bad people in the world who WOULD use nuclear weapons against their enemies. What would have happened if Germany had finished developing the atomic bomb before we did? You would all be speaking German, and I wouldn’t be here. If Iran, or other terrorist regimes or groups get hold of a nuclear weapon, they would use it.
This is where American exceptionalism comes in. We have the right, the ability, the duty, and the obligation to police the world, because no one else can or will. Israel and a VERY few other nations are on our side in this, whether you chose to believe it or not. We have saved the entire world twice from tyranny, still within the memory of a fading number of those who lived through those times. Now, the one-worlders and anti colonialists and others who have the delusion that everyone in the world just wants to sit around and smoke choom and sing Kumbayah, want to emasculate America in the name of some imagined crimes against people of color. If you get your way this time, you’ll be speaking Arabic and bowing to Mecca, and again, I won’t be here to remind you of your folly.

So somewhere in Iran there’s probably an DoctorDalai sitting around minding his own business and on the news he hears Israel wants to bomb Iran because Israel thinks they are developing Nucs. So wouldn’t he then be correct in wanting Nucs to protect his country from Israel? This is the MAD you’re talking about right? As far as the right to police the world, how do we have that right? Isn’t that why people don’t like the US, they feel we’re treading on them. North Korea makes threats against the US and they actually have Nucs, should we go to war with Kim Ding Dong?
-
The difference is that Israel would (or would have) performed a surgical attack, taking out the nuclear facilities only, and not wiping Tehran off the face of the earth. This is the good and evil discrepancy.
As far as Kim Ding Dong (nice name) we should have never allowed them to get nuclear weapons. Now we will someday have to deal with the consequences of that blindness.
And FW, I find it interesting that you choose to denigrate me for my comments but not the others. I appreciate being held to a higher standard, but sometimes one must wade into the muck and call a spade a spade. I’m sorry that makes you uncomfortable. But I will not tolerate the lies and anti-Semitic comments being spewed here, and neither should anyone else.-

If Israel wants to perform some surgical strike fine, just leave the US out of it; if the threat is so existential then Bibi should be willing to ignore our counsel and go it alone. He is a grown up, he does not need our permission. When the rhetoric and actions are not in sync perhaps you should rethink what is really going on-
I appreciate your concern, but I’m feeling fine, thank you.
We have been over some of this before. Israel likely would have taken care of this problem, as it did with Iraq and Syria, had our narcissistic administration not thwarted the effort by revealing secret plans Israel had made with Azerbaijan to use the latter’s airfields. Mr. Obama truly believes he can talk his way to appeasing Iran out of creating a nuclear weapon, while appeasing them and removing sanctions. We can probably thank Iranian-born Valerie Jarrett for this and the fact that Mr. Obama completely squandered the one minuscule chance we had to normalize relations with Iran when he ignored the students hoping for revolt there.
I doubt Netanyahu wants a war, but allowing Iranian madmen to get their hands on a real, live weapon of mass-destruction isn’t a good thing for anyone in the West either. If they succeed in attacking Israel, Europe and the United States will be next. Bank on it. -

Why drag America into his war?
Tomorrow is feb 14. 24 years ago, what happened?
Let me remind everyone.
402 Iraqi civilians – mostly women and children – were burned alive when a US warplane bombed their shelter – perhaps bombed in error, but bombed nonetheless. The men had left the shelter to give the women some privacy.
Google al Amaria shelter.
The US was pushed into that war by AIPAC. It was done so the “threat” to Israel would be removed.
Fast forward to 2015.
A jingoistic thuggish nationalistic prime minister of a foreign country is coming here to push America to bomb Iran. For no reason.
Must our tv screens again be filled with images of a bombed out bomb shelter full of dead women and children ?
Just to please AIPAC ?

I can understand that the president doesn’t want to be seen as taking sides in israeli domestic politics. The discreet way of handling this would have been to conduct a work-meeting with Netanyahu while he is in DC but to skip the dog and pony show with the press.-

Yes, DrDalai, some people may indeed view it as such.
I am glad you are at least honest enough to admit where your allegiance is – you said it, NOT me.
Question for you – there is nothing wrong with having primary allegiance toward Israel rather than the United States, but…..then why not make Aliyah, move there, polish up your Hebrew skills, become an Israeli citizen, and live happily thereafter?
Why live in the United States, with its safety, security, and relative prosperity if your primary alliegiance is not to the Stars and Stripes?
(Again, you said your allegiance was toward Israel – I have never made your patriotism or lack thereof an issue or point for discussion).
At least those who are most loyal to Israel but also live in Israel are accepting the harsher reality of living there, the higher cost of living etc.
But I think it’s hypocritical for someone to live in America, hold US citizenship, enjoy all the benefits of living in this great country, and not have sole allegiance to the Stars and Stripes.
Again, I am not accusing DrDalai of not being a patriotic American. It was he – and not me – who said his primary allegiance was toward Israel.
I’m merely trying to understand why he does not act on his allegiance by making Aliyah.
Why live in America and be a US citizen?
If your primary allegiance is to the Israeli flag, consider making Aliyah, goodbye, good luck, and have a happy life.

Add Liar to PASSRB’s credentials. He now shall become Putrid Anti-Semitic Socialist Racist Bigot Liar, or PASSRBL. it seems that PASSRBL sees what he wishes when he reads things; things that are not there and ignores things that are there. Let us hope for PASSRBL’s patients’ sake that this trait does not carry into his imaging interpretation.
THIS is how these slime operate. Twist words, add words, ignore words. When their sheer madness and idiocy are revealed for the world to see, like PASSRBL, they have a complete mental meltdown and do it say anything to distract from their pitiful failed delusions.
Here, PASSRBL simply cannot admit to himself and to the readers just how much of a putrid little racist bigot he has become in his hatred of Jews. Thus, he projects his madness onto me. I’m the traitor, I have a primary allegiance to another nation. I’m not the great American he puffs himself into believing HE is. And all the while I’ve said nothing of the sort. And all the while PASSRBL believes the world should be a socialist “paradise” which is certainly quite counter to anything American.
Ladies and gentlemen, you have here a rare opportunity to observe the comple mental breakdown of an extreme leftist when confronted with his own delusional thinking. It isn’t pretty, is it?
PASSRBL will probably need to get some therapy. Are there any counsellors out there who deal in deprogramming delusional socialists?

Let us add further to the list of PASSRBL’s merits: Inability to understand subtleties of the English language, which seems to be rampant among this bottom-feeder stratum of near-humanity. PASSRBL was most likely soiling his tattered shorts when he read the line he quoted…quoted so out of context that he left off the question mark which indicates to native English speakers that the statement was questioning PASSRBL’s own wildly insane reasoning.
I am a loyal and patriotic American, and while I am quite proud of that, it is sad that it must be said in the context of defending myself from the attacks of a piece of work who uses the freedoms of America to damn it and its citizens. I was going to rephrase my statements in 3rd grade language PASSRBL and his faithful mascot can understand, but I really don’t feel like lowering myself any further. I feel dirty already just corresponding with the likes of them.
Both of the posters above, who have trouble with English, have stepped so far beyond the realm of reality that it is just laughable. Some might call for their expulsion from the board, which would be appropriate. But lets not go there. Let the delusional fools continue to display their mental self-destruction for everyone to see. They lobby for the interests of a right wing party of a foreign country, and they keep pushing for war in the country they live in.
I think they’d be happier – and the US less likely to be at war – if those AIPAC memebrs who want a US-Iran war booked a nice one way flight on an outbound El Al flight.
They need to
A. Stop pushing for a US-Iran war
B. Stop lobbying for new sanctions in Iran
C. Book a one way flight to Israel.
D. Renounce their US citizenship once they get to Israel and get their Israeli citizenship instead.
After A-D are done, they can push Israel to war if they want – it then concerns none of us Americans since we won’t be dragged into their war.

Deleted UserFebruary 14, 2015 at 4:31 amThere is no question that AIPAC wanted
1. The 1991 Gulf War
2. The 2003 Iraq invasion.
3. And now….what AIPAC wants is for the US Air Force to bomb Iran nuclear facilities.
AIPAC is composed of Republican/Likud supporting US citizens who are primarily loyal to Israel and who believe that the United States military should be used to fight for what Likud perceives as Israel’s security needs.
You won’t very many liberal (aka sensible) Jews in AIPAC.
(On that point, there is a big difference between Israel’s actual security needs and what Likud perceives as Israel’s security needs – more on that subject later on.)
The reason Israeli Prime Minister Nuttyyahoo is coming here is he wants the following chain of events to unfold.
1. He will make an incendiary speech in the US Congress.
2. On March 3, the Republicans in Congress will drool, salivate, pant, jump up and down and cheer at Netanyahu’s sight – they will pretend and act like they are a group of 25 year old men at a Las Vegas strip club.
3. They will then pass legislation aimed at imposing more Iran sanctions.
4. Obama will veto it.
5. Meanwhile, in reaction to the US Congress, the Iranian parliament hardliners – their version of our GOP – will use the Congress actions as an excuse to derail negotiations.
1-5 will kill peace efforts and increase the chance for military confrontation.
Of course, military confrontation will lead to many deaths on the Iranian side – including women and children (aka collateral damage), but Netanyahu and AIPAC don’t give a damn about maimed or killed human beings – unless of course those human beings happen to be Israeli Jews.
Now…I’ll be honest….I am a reasonable person – I actually DO NOT want to see a mushroom cloud over Israel. So what’s the sensible approach to protecting Israel?
The sensible approach is
1. A top class missile defense system for Israel which can stop incoming any Iran nukes.
2. Crippling economic sanctions on Iran – they hurt Iran – but without a drop of blood being shed. So I do support such measures. I don’t support bombing, violence and military confrontation.
Fundamentally though and above else, I honestly believe that Iran – which (unlike Israel) has not invaded another country in over a 100 years – would never launch an unproved “first strike” nuclear attack on Israel.
It’s actually the other way around – Tehran’s civilians have more to fear from Israeli nuclear weapons.
-
re sanctions ‘ not a drop of blood shed’ i don’t know about that – maybe you mean literally not a drop of blood as the skin is not breached, but a good measure of suffering

That was most disturbing to read.
Perhaps someday, the ayatollahs will be swept from power and a liberal truly democratic government will rule Tehran.
We can only hope.

I admire liberals, I really do. They can sling manure like nobody’s business, and come out unscathed. Well, that might not be completely true. The refuse to smell the stench of what they produce and toss about, believing themselves the most fragrant in the land. But should someone point out their odor, they squeal like little animals, pointing fingers and claiming the smell comes from their critic. And the other animals in the pen generally step to and agree.
PASSRBL is now in his seventh heaven, enjoying victim status since I had the utter bad manners to point out the racism of his views. Emboldened by such, he goes even further down the abyss. Make no mistake…despite protestations, PASSRBL has simply leaned a new word for Jews, this time AIPAC. Previously, it was Israel, or Zionist, or Netanyoohoo (how angry would some of you get if I referred to our President as Obongo?) or Likud. Let me repeat for those who have trouble with English… PASSRBL is making some incredibly racist, bigoted charges against JEWS. This is his target, this is who he hates. Do not accept the bleating and whining to the contrary. It is VERY clear, particularly when Jews are now accused of starting the wars in Iraq. I think the Presidents Bush would have a little argument with that statement, but it stands on its own as yet another highly racially-charged bigoted, anti-semitic statement from our very own follower of David Duke and Pat Buchanan.
I’m even more amused that only liberals are rational, and reasonable. Really? To even make that statement betrays the foolishness of the speaker. And Iran should be handed an atomic weapon on a silver platter, and Israel given some sort of missile shield, which doesn’t exist, to protect it from nuclear weapons that would not have existed in the first place were it not for the narcissistic, pacifistic madness of our President and his drooling minions such as PASSRBL. Would any of us be willing to trust our lives and the lives of our children to that scenario? I wouldn’t. Neither would PASSRBL.
PASSRBL must be incredibly brilliant, no doubt clairvoyant, to know exactly what Prime Minister Netanyahu will say to Congress, and how each individual member will react. Remember, the speech comes at a time when our President Obama is doing his best to slash sanctions, and even PASSRBL seems to favor sanctions. It wouldn’t be possible, would it, that Mr. Netanyahu is simply going to agree with PASSRBL and ask for sanctions to continue and be strengthened? No, not in PASSRBL’s warped world. In that wonderful dystopia, Jews are always working behind the scenes sending good American boys off to fight Jew-inspired wars while the Jews sit at home and count their money and laugh at their stupid victims. Straight from the Protocols of the Elders of Zion. Look it up. By the way, for those for whom English is a second language, that last line is NOT a description of the truth, simply PASSRBL’s delusional view of it.
I do agree with PASSRBL on one item…perhaps, eventually, Iran will become a democratic country, and take its place among other peace-loving nations. But we probably won’t see that in our lifetime. It MIGHT have happened much sooner had our very own President supported the Green Revolution in Iran. But he didn’t, no doubt at the behest of his Iranian Rasputin, Ms. Jarrett. And now here we are.-

Let us add “T” for terrorist to PASSRBL’s list if credentials. PASSRBLT’s continued bleating, which now includes the anti-Semitic “Jews started Wars” meme now sounds just like the Hamas charter below. Wow. A follower of David Duke, Pat Buchanan, and now Hamas. I don’t know how much further PASSRBLT can sink….
“For a long time, the enemies have been planning, skillfully and with precision, for the achievement of what they have attained. They took into consideration the causes affecting the current of events. They strived to amass great and substantive material wealth which they devoted to the realisation of their dream. With their money, they took control of the world media, news agencies, the press, publishing houses, broadcasting stations, and others. With their money they stirred revolutions in various parts of the world with the purpose of achieving their interests and reaping the fruit therein. They were behind the French Revolution, the Communist revolution and most of the revolutions we heard and hear about, here and there. With their money they formed secret societies, such as Freemasons, Rotary Clubs, the Lions and others in different parts of the world for the purpose of sabotaging societies and achieving Zionist interests. With their money they were able to control imperialistic countries and instigate them to colonize many countries in order to enable them to exploit their resources and spread corruption there.
You may speak as much as you want about regional and world wars. They were behind World War I, when they were able to destroy the Islamic Caliphate, making financial gains and controlling resources. They obtained the Balfour Declaration, formed the League of Nations through which they could rule the world. They were behind World War II, through which they made huge financial gains by trading in armaments, and paved the way for the establishment of their state. It was they who instigated the replacement of the League of Nations with the United Nations and the Security Council to enable them to rule the world through them. There is no war going on anywhere, without having their finger in it.”

Just Ignore him.
He’s made an utter fool of himself.
He’s called just about everyone on this board an anti Semite, he’s called you demented, and his referring to me as Passerb or whatever childish term it is just makes him look more and more foolish – and also dilutes any political arguments he has.
Let him keep ranting and raving.
The rest of us can have a sensible conversation.
Getting back to topic, I do think Netanyahu will ultimately hurt hus own interests if he gives the speech – because Israel will lose support fr the Obama administration at forums such as the UN. They may not be able to count on an automatic US veto – that may be a good thing though.

Once again, PASSRBLT tries a dodge…”Ignore the man behind the curtain!” At every single juncture, I have demonstrated the anti-semitic nature of PASSRBLT’s comments. His talking points come from such tolerant luminaries as David Duke, Pat Buchanan, and even the Hamas Charter. Notice that he doesn’t even try to deny this latest connection. Certainly wonderful sources of inspiration if one happens to be anti-semitic. But we are to label this information as “ranting and raving”. What better way to hide from the reality of his perverse world-views?
Only those who blind themselves to PASSRBLT’s racist nature are allowed to have a “sensible” conversation? In other words, only those who agree or at least chose to ignore the bigotry involved are allowed in to Liberal Fantasy Land.
IF, PASSRBLT you wish to have a “sensible” conversation, here’s what you must do: You must repudiate and apologize for the blatant, putrid statements you have posted here. Each and every one. And you can start with a heart-felt apology over your most recent egregious garbage about Jews starting the Iraq wars. That one alone should get you booted off this board, and out of your group, for that matter. Fortunately, this is America, and you are allowed to abuse our freedoms to spew hate speech such as you have done here. But I digress.
There is no “sensible conversation” to be had with someone who holds views such as you have posted above.-

In case you did not realize – Jews live in Iran too.
If AIPAC pushes for war, and the US Air Force follow suit – the lives of Iranian Jews are at risk too.
I don’t want anyone in Iran getting bombed – including Iranian Jews.
What if a synagogue gets accidentally bombed in Iran? An errant missile strike aimed at Iran nuclear facilities instead hits a synagogue in Shiraz, Iran.
Then what?
So….I know Netanyahu and AIPAC don’t care about non-Jewish lives, but the fact of the matter is….when I oppose bombing Iran, I am also opposed to Iranian Jews getting bombed.

– Your attitude is typical of AIPAC’s hard core right wing supporters
1. You want to silence your opposition (aka get me booted from the board).
2. You wish economic destruction and/harm upon me and my family just because I disagree with you on Mid East politics.
That really really pisses me off.So, you dream of me getting booted from my group, huh?
Did I understand that correctly, DrDalai ?!?
You want me to lose my livlihood, and you want my wife and family to suffer, economically? Is that right ?!?
Any why do you think my family deserves that?
Just because of my political views about Israel and Netanyahu ?
That’s an utterly disgraceful thing of you to wish upon me.
What’s next? You wishing for me to get into a car accident the next time I drive?
You’ve really gone mad DrDalai
-
I don’t want anyone killed. It would be wonderful if everyone could just get along, wouldn’t it? Let’s ignore the fact that there are murderers out there, shall we?
But of course PASSRBLT’s vicious Jew-hatred and associated lies just drag him further and further down into depravity. At least he didn’t repeat the charges of Jews targeting women and children as he did several posts above. It occurs to me that the King of Jordan, who personally flew a bombing mission against ISIS, probably killed some innocent children the ISIS scum were hiding behind…but no tears shed for them, eh? At last count, Jordan has caused 7,000 ISIS and collateral casualties over the brutal death of its one pilot. Where are the cries and wails and garment rending over Jordan’s disproportionate response?
You see, gentle readers, this is the mentality of today’s Leftists: It’s OK for Muslims to kill Muslims, it’s OK for blacks to kill blacks, it’s OK for Muslims to kill Jews, it’s OK for blacks to kill whites, but it’s NOT OK for Jews to kill Muslims or whites to kill blacks.
So instead of repudiating and apologizing for his nasty statements, PASSRBLT just comes up with yet another anti-semitic piece of slander:
[blockquote]So….I know Netanyahu and AIPAC don’t care about non-Jewish lives, but the fact of the matter is….when I oppose bombing Iran, I am also opposed to Iranian Jews getting bombed.
[/blockquote] Here we go again. Now PASSRBLT informs us that Jews only care about other Jews and everyone else can die. And when, PASSRBLT, did you stop beating your wife? These horrific statements just demonstrate to us the depth of your hatred and delusions.
I’m sure the hearts of the handful of Iranian Jews are warmed by PASSRBLT’s concern, but in this statement, he adds to the stack of lies he’s already told. Where have we EVER heard anything about anyone bombing Tehran or any other population center? Any military action would be directed at severing Iran’s ability to create a nuclear weapon. Just like Israel prevented Saddam Hussein (nice name) from achieving the same deadly goal with the bombing of the Osirak reactor in 1981. The attack was timed to minimize loss of life, and “only” 10 Iraqi soldiers and one French citizen (the reactor was a French product) were killed. I wish it had been none, but it certainly wasn’t a massacre. But no, all PASSRBLT can envision is an all out blitzkrieg meant to completely destroy all of Iran. More delusional thinking, but it is what we have come to expect.
Yes, PASSRBLT, practice random acts of kindness toward others every day by spewing hatred every hour. Good plan.
We’ve been having this “discussion” literally for years. PASSRBLT simply cannot get past his anger and hatred of those nasty Jews who don’t kowtow to his Socialist fantasies, and wish to defend themselves against imminent danger, wherever it may be. Every time I demonstrate his true nature, he digs up yet another easily-disproved “fact” from the net, generally poorly-vetted and often purely ridiculous. Thousands of posts over years and years, and always the same garbage. Oh, well. I guess it keeps him off the streets.

I condemn the acts of violence in Copenhagen and hope they have gotten the perpetrator…
OTH Bibi sees this as a political opportunity
Israels prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, also condemned the attacks and called for European Jews to immigrate to Israel. The wave of attacks against Jews in Europe is expected to continue, and it is up to us to stay prepared, Netanyahu said, according to the Jerusalem Post. Jews need protection wherever they are, but were telling you: Israel is your home.

Apparently, the murderer was killed by the Danish police. Yet another tragedy with both Jewish and non-Jewish targets.
I will assume that Netanyahu is sincere in his invitation to European Jewry, although I don’t think that will be the answer for most. At least not yet.
But….Tell me why it’s political when the Israeli Prime minister suggests that Jews who are repeatedly targeted by rhetoric and bullets should come to Israel, but it’s just fine and dandy and completely kosher and apolitical when our President invites illegal aliens to come to the US and stay, giving them full benefits out of my pocket? Please explain that one.-

Deleted UserFebruary 15, 2015 at 10:30 amDrDalai,
As you know, English is not a second language for me. It is my mother tongue.
I’m assuming – based on the good quality prose in your posts – that English is also your mother tongue (as opposed to Hebrew).
Anyway…..thor….I agree with you. The Jews of Europe should stay at home in Europe and fight the bigots and anti-Semties.
The bigots want Jew free societies – so when a Jew leaves a country to move to Israel out of fear – they’re caving into the bigots.
Interestingly, the leftists whom DrDalai seems to look down upon – are often the allies of Jews in fighting real anti-Semetism.
-
Given the way PASSRBLT often doesn’t understand the nuances in these communications, it was an honest error in assuming that English wasn’t his mother tongue. My apologies. I’m waiting for PASSRBLT to apologize for his hateful rhetoric, and I will probably grow old doing so.
Equally sad, PASSRBLT doesn’t get that in most cases, the Leftist whom I do indeed look down upon ARE the bigots that want Judenrein societies, or are in supportive alliances with those who do. -

Deleted UserFebruary 15, 2015 at 11:06 amAs for Dalais crack about illegal aliens, it’s actually the other way around.
It’s not that they are taking from Americans’ pockets.
In many cases, they do the dirty work no one else will do – for very low wages.
Here in America – unlike Israel – people of all religions/
backgrounds are welcome – you seem not to get that point, DrDalai.-
Well, I hate to tell you that NOT everyone from any race or any religion has been welcome in the US.
Here is one example:

The Jews on board the St. Louis were refused entry into the US due to anti-immigrant and anti-semitic sentiments from BOTH Republicans and Democrats. Some eventually found refuge in England and other nations, but many died.-

On that we can agree completely. Wow, that didn’t hurt a bit!
Straying somewhat off the Iran thing, I think the readership will find this article by a Palestinian moderate interesting:
[link=http://blogs.timesofisrael.com/we-palestinians-hold-the-key-to-a-better-future/]http://blogs.timesofisrae…ey-to-a-better-future/[/link]
Basically, advice for Palestinians to accept reality and go on with life.
[blockquote] A new approach To make peace with Israel, we need to change our approach. We need to accept that the right of return will be resolved through financial compensation that will allow Palestinian refugees to settle either in Arab countries or in Palestine. We need to accept that Israels security is a key to any solution. We need to accept that East Jerusalem may have to remain part of Israel. Our most important change in approach, however, and one with which we need the help of the international community, is that we need a democratically elected and secular government that responds to the needs of our people. As [link=http://www.wsj.com/articles/SB121815474002722569]I wrote in August 2008[/link] with Nathan Sharansky, a former Soviet dissident and the author of the book The Case for Democracy, there wont be peace without democracy. As long as the so-called Palestinian leader is able to use international funds towards consolidating his own network of corrupt cronies, Palestinians will not trust him and will look to the alternative, which sadly happens to be Hamas.
[/blockquote] It would be a shame for the Palestinian situation to resolve itself as the writer suggests, and then to have Iran blow them ALL to smithereens…

Deleted UserFebruary 15, 2015 at 7:52 pmThat Palestinian sounds sensible, but I disagree with him on one big point.
I think the Pal refugees should not give up their right of return to Israel.
If Israeli Jews can return because their ancestors were there 2000 years ago, pal refugees who were a mere 67 years ago have the right to go back to Israel.
On that note….let’s call it a day DrDalai.

No, PASSRBLT…as usual, the fact that English is a second language seems to get in your way.
I don’t wish you anything but the eventual emergence from your delusions. Nothing more, nothing less. I don’t dream about you at all (what a nightmare that would be!) Of course, nary a peep from any of you on that.

Boehner Defends Netanyahu Invite, Blames DHS Standoff On Senate Democrats
“We have every right to do what we did. I wanted the prime minister to come here,” Boehner said.

The Congressmen will tow the line, but back in Jerusalem, some must be fuming about how the White House isn’t just following AIPAC orders.
When the US president does not tow the AIPAC line, that’s insubordination as far as AIPAC us concerned – and AIPAC won’t tolerate it.
You’ll see.
I’ll bet that any congressman or Senator who has the decency and honor of boycotting Netanyahus speech won’t be reelected.

I think the whole point of Zionism is that the Jewish people would no longer be spectators to the decision-making that determines our fate. Remember, we were once powerless. We were once voiceless. We couldn’t even speak on our own behalf. Well, we can and we do now.

The answer to all three questions are the same. Why Congress? Why Washington? Why now? Because of the grave dangers posed by the deal that is on the table right now.

I don’t see this issue in partisan terms. The survival of Israel is not a partisan issue. It concerns everyone, all the supporters of Israel from every political stripe. The fight against militant Islamic terrorism is not a partisan issue. The battle against the Islamic State, which just beheaded 21 Christians, is not a partisan issue. And the effort to prevent the Islamic Republic from building nuclear weapons, that’s not a partisan issue either. I think the pursuit of nuclear weapons by Iran is the most urgent security challenge facing the world. I think the greatest danger facing humanity is the possibility that any movement or any regime of militant Islam will arm itself with the weapons of mass destruction. Everything that we see in our region now will pale by comparison. Everything that we see in Europe will pale by comparison.”

Frankly, as usual, his remarks make a lot of sense to me.

Ask yourselves…why would Mr. Obama refuse to listen to Mr. Netanyahu’s views on Iran? Try to think past the partisan arguments, elections, etc. What possible harm could come from listening?
Many of you will answer, “That nasty Bibi just wants the US to start a war!!!!” Do you really think that’s what it’s all about? Do you really think Israel wants a war in which it WILL most certainly participate, and in which it will lose a significant number of soldiers? Do you really think Israel wants a war that will attract long range attacks from Iran and its proxies? Have you forgotten that Saddam Hussein launched missiles at Israel in the first Gulf War when Israel had NOTHING to do with the US retaking Kuwait?
Try THINKING past your inner prejudices for just a moment, and you might see the value in hearing what Mr. Netanyahu has to say to us.
My own personal opinion is that Mr. Obama narcissistically, and with the aid of his Iranian/Communist Rasputin, Ms. Jarrett, thinks he can keep Iran at bay through sheer will and personality alone, magnanimously giving them the keys to nuclear weapons while extracting a useless promise that they won’t be used. The very last thing Mr. Obama wants is a powerful, eloquent speaker like Netanyahu to reveal the folly in that foolish and childish approach. Mr. Obama wants to be the BIG MAN, doling out favors and granting wishes, not realizing that the rest of the world is laughing at him. Sadly, this is not a child’s game. Putting nuclear weapons in the hands of those who would use them in the manner threatened is very serious business. Obama’s desires won’t stop those determined to destroy another nation, but he does not want Bibi revealing this on our own soil.-
could the poor information Israel provided pre Iraq war be the issue
or is it that President Obama correctly sized up that a gentleman who shows up with a cartoon to discuss the very intricate complex nature of Iran with Nucs has already disqualified himself from the discussion not to mention that Bibi has ruffled feathers in Europe with his I will come to your country anyway while not invited and tell your county’s jewish population that they are not safe here and the need to move ..I really think Bibi has gone mad…even posters on JP say it is time for a change…he has not done anything and we are even more isolated ..what can the speaker do for us( except cry and have a bourbon with mint)(the whole speaker/bib/ambassador thing look sneaky/like they are slithering in ilk/treason..what American would vouch for that)Bibi stay home…we have enough egotistical narcissistic politicians…you bring nothing new to the table..Jerusalem Post posters are correct when they say it’s time for a change

Wow! I believe that Obama HAS listened to Bibi and decided that he is not trust worthy (you can now add Boehner to that list). Meanwhile, the leaks out of the negotiations by Bibi’s minions show why he cannot be trusted

So BO and his wife are the only people in the white house to ever live very well on the tax payer dollar?-

Deleted UserFebruary 17, 2015 at 8:15 pmActually Bibi is living very well on the US taxpayer dollar.
All those billions in aid to Israel.
I actually would be fine with my tax dollars going to a noble cause – like helping elderly holocaust victims financially in their final years.
But most of our tax money goes to military aid to Israel – aka money used to continue the forceful occupation of the West Bank, money used to bomb Gaza and kill civilians etc.
Bibi needs to stay home.

It’s one thing for Netanyahu to take the moral high gound and call for a nuclear weapons free Middle East or even a nuke free world (I would agree with Netanyahu on that one).
But, Netanyahu’s position is – we Israelis insist in having nuclear weapons, but we expect Iran and Arab countries to not have nukes!
Someone sitting in Iran could say that if Israel has nukes, Iran should have them too – as a strategic deterrent against Israeli aggression.
Why is no calling upon Israel to give up its nukes?
Iran should call Israel out on this.
If I was the Iranian foreign minister, I’d say that I was willing to scrap my country’s nuke program only if Israel was willing to scrap its nuke weapon program.
Once again, many thanks to Mordechai Vanunu – may God bless his soul – for exposing the Israelis’ nuclear weapon program to the world.

don’t know why Jeb waded into this…first his father would never approve of such a breech in protocol and his move looks insulting to the office that he seeks

Bibi’s government escalates (allegedly):
Mistrust between the Obama administration and Benjamin Netanyahu has widened even further in recent days because of U.S. suspicion that the Israeli prime minister has authorized leaks of details about the U.S. nuclear talks with Iran.
The decision to reduce the exchange of sensitive information about the Iran talks was prompted by concerns that Netanyahus office had given Israeli journalists sensitive details of the U.S. position, including a U.S. offer to allow Iran to enrich uranium with 6,500 or more centrifuges as part of a final deal.
An [link=http://www.jpost.com/Israel-News/Politics-And-Diplomacy/Report-US-to-halt-updates-to-Israel-on-Iran-nuclear-talks-in-response-to-Netanyahu-speech-plans-391101]initial report Sunday by Israels Channel 2 news[/link] that the administration had cut all communications with Israel about the Iran talks was denied by White House spokesman Alistair Baskey. Sources here said that Philip Gordon, the Middle East director for President Obamas National Security Council, would see Israeli national security adviser Yossi Cohen and other senior officials on Monday. The discussion would include Iran policy, but U.S. officials arent likely to share the latest information about U.S. strategy in the talks.-
This all comes down to one factor: Iran cannot be trusted NOT to use a nuclear weapon if it should develop one. That Israel has them and hasn’t used them is the critical fact those of you blinded by utopian delusions can’t understand. There are good people in the world, and there are bad people. The gentlemen running Iran are bad people, crazy people by our standards. Mr. Obama’s (and your) disgusting moral relativism will lead to disaster if not checked. THIS is why Mr. Obama doesn’t want Mr. Netanyahu to speak…he fears being exposed as the far-leftist dreamer he really is.
The Soviets were ruthless, but not crazy. They understood the concept of Mutually-Assured Destruction quite well. But the Iranian Ayatollas relish the idea.-
An interesting Biblical [link=http://www.aish.com/jw/s/Bibis-Breach-of-Protocol.html]parallel[/link]:
[blockquote] Controversy surrounds the Prime Minister of Israels forthcoming appearance on Capitol Hill.
Invited by Republican House Speaker John Boehner to address Congress about the threat of Irans nuclear ambitions, Benjamin Netanyahu welcomed this opportunity to share his countrys existential concern as the Iranian regime comes ever closer to achieving the capability of fulfilling its avowed goal of the total annihilation of Israel. But the White House has made known its displeasure. A growing number of Democratic lawmakers said they would boycott his talk. Vice President Joe Biden, who as president of the Senate would normally oversee Netanyahus address, said he would be out of town. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said she hoped the speech doesnt take place.
Why all this animosity toward the leader of a long-standing ally, the only democracy in the middle east, to whom President Obama has long pledged his unswerving loyalty? Because the administration has made clear its fury at a supposed breach of protocol. The White House insists it was not consulted before the invitation was given. That breach of etiquette, it stoutly maintains, trumps any benefit Congress might gain from the insights of the Prime Minister of the country to be most immediately and severely affected by the present negotiations being concluded with Iran.
Remarkably, this is not the first time the issue of protocol lies at the heart of an Iranian threat to destroy the Jewish people. There is biblical precedent. Eerily echoing todays story, the Book of Esther recounts the first recorded instance of attempted genocide against Jews in the ancient empire of Persia, today known as Iran. When, more than two millennia ago, Mordecai learns of Hamans plot to destroy, to slay and to exterminate all Jews, young and old, children and women, in a single day (Esther 3:13), he prevails upon his adopted daughter Esther, now Queen, to intercede.
But Esther is afraid. If she were to approach her husband to appeal Hamans decree, she would be breaking royal protocol. All the kings servants and the people of the kings provinces are well aware, Esther responds to Mordecai, that if anyone, man or woman, approaches the king in the inner court without being summoned, there is but one law for him: that he be put to death, except for the person to whom the king shall extend the gold scepter so that he may live. Now I have not been summoned to come to the king for the past thirty days (Esther 4:11).
Nonetheless, the Book of Esther tells us that after begging the Jews to pray and fast on her behalf, Esther chose to disregard protocol in the face of possible extermination of her people. Esther succeeded in averting the evil decree. As a result, Jews to this day around the world celebrate the Festival of Purim.
In Jewish tradition, the Purim story marks the commemoration of a different kind of miracle. In its unfolding, it is a miracle of coincidences so statistically improbable that they together speak to us of the hidden hand of the divine in human events. For that reason the book of Esther is the only one in the entire Bible in which Gods name is not to be found even once. Here God hides his face – but is as much involved as when he split the sea before the Jews fleeing the Egyptians. For Jewish commentators it is the message of the famous and ironically anonymous adage that Coincidence is merely Gods way of choosing to remain anonymous.
And so perhaps the most remarkable serendipitous aspect of Prime Minister Netanyahus speech is that it is scheduled for the very day before Jews will be observing the Fast of Esther and Purim this year, to recall a time when a heroic Queen decided that the survival of her people took precedence over protocol.

Bibi hires top defense attorney for possible corruption case. The caretaker Menny Nartali granted limited immunity spent 11 hours with the Israeli police…some reason this reminds me of how things unraveled for the VA governor when the cook was fired.

Leaked cables show Netanyahus Iran bomb claim contradicted by Mossad
Binyamin Netanyahus dramatic declaration to world leaders in 2012 that [link=http://www.theguardian.com/world/iran]Iran[/link]was about a year away from making a nuclear bomb was contradicted by his own secret service, according to a top-secret Mossad document.
It is part of a cache of hundreds of dossiers, files and cables from the worlds major intelligence services one of the biggest spy leaks in recent times.
Brandishing a cartoon of a bomb with a red line to illustrate his point, the Israeli prime minister warned the UN in New York that Iran would be able to build nuclear weapons the following year and called for action to halt the process.
But in a secret report shared with South Africa a few weeks later, Israels intelligence agency concluded that Iran was not performing the activity necessary to produce weapons. The report highlights the gulf between the public claims and rhetoric of top Israeli politicians and the assessments of Israels military and intelligence establishment.-

The “leaks” are from Al Jazeera. Not my go to source for truth. No one denies that Iran was/is refining for weapons. At worst there is disagreement over time frame if you believe this “leak” which I don’t.
Invite an Iranian madman so we can hear more lies? Of course you gents would lap up every anti semetic word. When you are mature enough to grasp that the Iranian rulers are evil, come back and let us know.

We have a right to hear both sides of the story – not just the likud/AIPAC version.
-
Neville? Is that you?
Why didn’t we invite Hitler and Mussolini and Tojo to present their case before Congress?
Let’s pursue this ridiculous idea to its logical end.
Rouhani speaks to Congress and presents his case. Here are the permutations:
1. Rouhani says his intentions are peaceful, and this is the truth.
2. Rouhani says his intentions are peaceful, and he is lying.
3. Rouhani says, “Yes, you got it…we are making a bomb we will use to kill Jews. After reading the postings of some of your most intelligent doctors on AuntMinnie.com (I post as Noah’sArk) it is clear that the intelligentia of the United States hates Israel and the Jews, and we will do you the favor of taking care of that little problem.” Well, he might leave that last part off.
We would all rather #1 be the case, but to assume or expect that in this particular scenario is tantamount to suicide. The concept of teqqiyah will prevent number #3 from ever taking place. Unfortunately, #2 is the far-more likely scenario.
If Hitler had come to Congress around the time Czechoslovakia was sacrificed and said, “Don’t vorry about us, Ve are chust peace-loving Chermans,” many of the pathetic, pacifistic dreamers around here would have gobbled it up like candy.
There is good and evil in the world. Once you wake up to that fact, and stop making the villains the victims and vice versa, we can talk.

So… the source is the issue? The Guardian also was sent the documents. It is a combined work on the leak dump (similar to that of Snowden).
You believe the leaked documents are falsified?
Even though it has been clear over the last month that there is a split between Netanyahu and the intelligence services?
-
The guardian quotes Al Jazeera. Lies until proven otherwise. Interesting timing if the “leak”.
-
So it’s not possible Iran could be enriching uranium to use in energy production? They’re just guilty of building a bomb because BB says so. Just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean it can’t be the truth.
-
WHY would Iran need nuclear energy so badly? They sit on enough oil reserve to run the planet for the next several hundred years.
Just because you are oblivious to the fact that there are evil people in the world doesn’t make the world a safer place.
And before anyone beats me to it, Fox has picked up the Al Jizz/Guardian story. I still find the timing of the leak suspect, but in the end, the “revelations” are meaningless. Even if accurate, they all agree that Iran is enriching for a weapon. What more do we need to know?-
