Weve been on Philips Speechmic. But we almost treat them like perishable items at this point. Out of all peripherals Ive never seen as many issues as I have with speech microphones. Not nice, keyboard, not digitizers. Plus the warranty usually isnt good and its not an easy process to get one returned if it is in warranty

      YES!!
I actually was just escalating this topic internally because this year we’ve gone through double the number of mics than previous years. This is also the second year in which I canceled our support contracts through Nuance on these because the Mic II were pretty reliable. We now get them through our normal PC vendor for $240 and they come with a 2 year warranty. I hope I won’t be kicking myself for that decision…
I plan on escalating this to the vendor to see if there’s a larger issue going on…
      What are your plans Outcast?

Late to the party on this issue but we have many issues with the powermic III. I am told the problem is firmware and with updates they work.  Something to do with mics that have serial numbers that start with B or D???

I’ve been told there has been an issue with certain lots of the mics. Their solution doesn’t seem to be working for us though.

disable USB power setting that allows machine to sleep the port
turn access to microphone by apps to “off”

Not sure if these are solutions to frequent mic failures.. We have a doc who has went through 7 mics in 2-3 years… We thought it was b/c he was hosing them down with isopropyl alcohol during covid but that may not have been the case
