That was a sad thing to see. He had a bad fall, I guess, and probably an after-effect of that. But it was also sad that he gave trillions and trillions and trillions of dollars to the Democrats to waste on the Green New Deal, destroying our oceans and destroying our great, beautiful vistas and plains all over our country with windmills that are very expensive energy. So thats a very sad thing also.

We have some people in the Senate that are fantastic and would be great at that position. But its just amazing he would do that but at the same time, I hope hes well.

It’s never something plain and classy like “I wish him well”.  He’s always got some sort of sloppy word salad grievance to toss in.  Mitch ruined the oceans.  OK Don.  Like he probably puts that ketchup on his steak.
Senate GOP Mulls Special Meeting on Their Leadership
A handful of GOP senators is weighing whether to force a fraught internal debate about their leaderships future after Mitch McConnells second public freeze-up in a month, [link=https://www.politico.com/news/2023/08/31/gop-senators-mcconnell-freeze-up-00113610]Politico[/link] reports.

Some rank-and-file Republicans have discussed the possibility of a broader conversation once senators return to Washington next week Party leadership is not currently involved in those discussions, and nothing has been decided yet, this person added.

All is-well. Capital physician gives a-ok medical clearance to Mitch.

Whew. Nothing to see here.

It’s almost like no one wants to do the preventative maintenance.  Like the engine is slowly dying but don’t change the oil.  Kick it over to John Thune.

Beshear Wont Commit to Appointing Republican
After Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) experienced his second freezing episode in five weeks, Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear (D) is declining to say whether he would follow a state law requiring him to appoint a Republican in the event of a Senate vacancy, the [link=https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2023/09/01/kentucky-governor-beshear-mcconnell/]Washington Post[/link] reports.

Said Beshear: There is no Senate vacancy. Senator McConnell has said hes going to serve out his term, and I believe him, so Im not going to speculate about something that hasnt happened and isnt going to happen.

That’s a misleading headline. The reason he doesn’t commit to it because as of now there is no question of anyone being appointed.

The funny thing is, with his freeze episodes being ‘unexplained’, he would currently not be able to hold a commercial drivers license or a pilots license.

Same question I have with that other gold guy: ‘Would you let him pick your kids at the babysitter ?’ If the answer is ‘no’, then why should he be in charge of anything ?

Harry Reid got whacked in the head and decided to retire. Time for Mitch to do the same.

McConnell does not have seizure disorder, did not suffer stroke, says Capitol physician

My examination of you following your August 30, 2023 brief episode included several medical evaluations: brain MRI imaging, EEG study and consultations with several neurologists for a comprehensive neurology assessment, Monahan said. There is no evidence that you have a seizure disorder or that you experienced a stroke, TIA or movement disorder such as Parkinsons disease.

There are no changes recommended in treatment protocols as you continue recovery from your March 2023 fall, Monahan added.
