  • Elaine Chao and Putin’s Mitch

Posted by kaldridgewv2211 on June 12, 2019 at 4:55 am

This seems to be dropping out of the news cycle but seems like some outright crooked dealings.  Mitch is a top swamp monster and his wife is another swamper.  This is all on top of the shady $h1t she was doing with her family’s China connections.

Politico reports the U.S. Transportation Department under Secretary Elaine Chao designated a special liaison to help with grant applications and other priorities from her husband Mitch McConnells state of Kentucky, which paved the way for grants totaling at least $78 million for favored projects as McConnell prepared to campaign for reelection.

[h1][b]Watchdog Asks DOJ to Consider Criminal Investigation into Elaine Chao for Misuse of Office[/b][/h1]
The Transportation Departments inspector general asked the Justice Department in December to consider a criminal investigation into what it said was Elaine Chaos misuse of her office as transportation secretary in the Trump administration to help promote her familys shipping business, which is run by her sister and has extensive business ties with China, the [link=https://www.nytimes.com/2021/03/03/us/politics/elaine-chao-inspector-general-report.html]New York Times[/link] reports.

The inspector general said the Justice Departments criminal and public integrity divisions both declined to take up the matter in the closing weeks of the Trump administration, even after the inspector general found repeated examples of Ms. Chao using her staff and her office to help benefit her family and their business operations and revealed that staff members at the agency had raised ethics concerns.

    [b]Trump Slashes at Dumb Son of a B*tch McConnell[/b][/h1]

Former president Donald Trump called Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell a dumb son of a bitch as he used a Saturday night speech to Republicans to blame him for not helping overturn the 2020 election and reiterated false assertions that he won the November contest, the [link=https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/trump-mcconnell-election/2021/04/11/297a82da-9879-11eb-962b-78c1d8228819_story.html?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=wp_politics]Washington Post[/link] reports.

Said Trump: If that were Schumer instead of this dumb son of a bitch Mitch McConnell they would never allow it to happen. They would have fought it.
He later called McConnell a stone cold loser.

[link=https://www.politico.com/news/2021/04/11/trump-mcconnell-dumb-son-of-a-bitch-rnc-480748]Politico[/link]: Trump veered off his prepared during a roughly 50-minute speech before several hundred well-heeled GOP donors at his Mar-a-Lago resort in South Florida, saying that he was disappointed in former Vice President Mike Pence, calling last years presidential election election a fraud and mocking Dr. Anthony Fauci.

[h1][b]Why McConnell Seems to Be Giving Biden a Win[/b][/h1]
[link=https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/congress/what-s-it-mcconnell-why-grim-reaper-backing-biden-priority-n1275421]NBC News[/link]: McConnells incentives are more complicated than the Dr. No image he has cultivated over a decade and a half as the Senate Republican leader, according to senators and aides familiar with his thinking, as well as Democratic antagonists. By acquiescing to a deal, he can reward Republican allies, head off Democratic efforts to end the filibuster and even score some popular goodies for his state.

      ____________

      Teagan Goddard:

[link=https://politicalwire.com/2021/07/29/biden-gains-the-upper-hand-on-mitch-mcconnell/]Biden Gains the Upper Hand on Mitch McConnell

[/link]McConnell has given tepid support to the bipartisan bill but only because he thinks it might anger progressives, divide Democrats and ultimately derail the bigger reconciliation package. Theres no way McConnell wants to give Biden a bipartisan win, but hell settle for that if he can split Democrats over the broader bill.

But the Senate vote indicates Biden has the upper hand on McConnell. Settling for a $1.2 trillion bill because you hope it will derail a $3.5 trillion bill is not a position of strength.

For the first time in many years at least since the late Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) [link=https://politicalwire.com/2017/07/28/senate-rejects-skinny-repeal-bill-mccain-votes-no/]tanked McConnells effort to repeal Obamacare[/link]  McConnell is being outmaneuvered.

There is little appetite among Senate Republicans for such a plan, lawmakers and aides said, but the discussions risk driving a wedge deeper between the most influential figure in the Republican Party and its highest-ranking member in elected office.

Trump Blames McConnell for Infrastructure Bill[/h1]
Donald Trump [link=https://twitter.com/MEPFuller/status/1461018874632187909]issued a statement[/link] attacking Broken Old Crow Mitch McConnell and his RINO friends for helping pass the bipartisan infrastructure bill.

Said Trump: This is the Broken Old Crows fault. He could have won it all using the Debt Ceiling-they were ready to fold. Now the Democrats have a big victory and the wind at their back. McConnell is a fool and he damn well better stop their Dream of Communism Bill and keep his Senators in line, or he should resign now, something he should have done a long time ago.

Mitch McConnell does not speak for the Republican Party, and does not represent the views of the vast majority of its voters. He did nothing to fight for his constituents and stop the most fraudulent election in American history.

[h1][b]Mo Brooks Calls for McConnell to Be Ousted[/b][/h1]
Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) is calling for Mitch McConnell to be ousted as Senate GOP leader, making him the partys third major Senate candidate to come out in favor of booting the Kentucky Republican, [link=https://www.politico.com/news/2022/03/21/trump-brooks-mcconnell-00018786]Politico[/link] reports.

Said Brooks, [link=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Zo48c3g6-Y&feature=youtu.be]in a new ad[/link]: America cant afford a Senate leader who is a weak-kneed, debt junkie, open-border RINO Republican and who, worse yet, sells out America for special interest group cash.

Brooks joins two other Republican candidates Eric Greitens of Missouri and Kelly Tshibaka of Alaska in pushing for McConnells removal. All three are running staunchly anti-establishment campaigns and are aligning themselves with former President Donald Trump, who has repeatedly laced into McConnell over the past year.

[link=https://www.nytimes.com/2022/06/27/us/politics/mitch-mcconnell-supreme-court.html]New York Times[/link]: Mr. McConnell is indisputably a chief architect if not the chief architect of the conservative court that has shaken the nation over the past week with a string of rulings on abortion, guns and religion a trifecta of searing cultural issues.

While much of the public recoiled at the decisions and the prospect of more to come in the years ahead, Mr. McConnell, a deep admirer of Justice Antonin Scalia, saw the culmination of a personal push to reshape the court in the image of the conservative judicial icon.

That history-making feat came at a price: the embrace of Donald J. Trump. Mr. McConnell and his fellow Republicans might have had their misgivings about Mr. Trump, but they were more than willing to set aside any reservations and Senate comity in zealous pursuit of a reliably conservative court. Mr. Trump, however problematic, was a means to their end.

Mitch McConnell is not an Opposition Leader, he is a pawn for the Democrats to get whatever they want, Trump said in his statement. He is afraid of them, and will not do what has to be done. A new Republican Leader in the Senate should be picked immediately!

This makes [link=https://www.wsj.com/topics/person/donald-trump]Donald Trump[/link]s latest verbal assault against Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell all the more reckless.

Mr. Trump let loose another tirade against the GOP Senate leader on Friday. Is McConnell approving all of these Trillions of Dollars worth of Democrat
sponsored Bills, without even the slightest bit of negotiation, because he hates Donald J. Trump, and he knows I am strongly opposed to them, or is he doing it because he believes in the Fake and Highly Destructive Green New Deal, and is willing to take the Country down with him? Mr. Trump wrote on Truth Social.

The death wish rhetoric is ugly even by Mr. Trumps standards and deserves to be condemned. Mr. Trumps apologists claim he merely meant Mr. McConnell has a political death wish, but that isnt what he wrote. [b]Its all too easy to imagine some fanatic taking Mr. Trump seriously and literally, and attempting to kill Mr. McConnell.[/b]

Sen Mitch McConnell (R-KY) tells reporters hes feeling fine and got a call from President Biden. Jokes about being sandbagged

Reading that today he took a face plant at the airport.

Time to hang up the spurs.

                good politico read

The Kentucky Republican is doing all he can to bolster Ukraine, preserve NATO and help his party maintain its Reaganite roots.

McConnell suffers his 2nd freeze while addressing reporters.

He does not look as strong as he used to. He looks declining in health.

It’s time:  Term limits. Age limits and/or req’d cognitive tests.  These octogenarians are not capable of competently leading this country.

(I’m not in a cult.  I can admit when a person in the party I typically align with is in obvious substantial decline and is unable to effectively carry out his duties.)

Will be interesting to see if McConnell steps down or not.

Democrat gov in KY.  GOP Legislature passed a law trying to hamstring his choices to ones approved by the R legislature, but that law likely unconstittional…

Means Beshear could appoint a D or just leave the seat open while he challenges the law.

Amazing part is how quickly Conservatives are willing to throw Mitch under the bus as old damaged goods after that old damaged man gave them literally everything they wanted. But his usefulness has run out therefore he’s disposable. Besides, he’s not sufficiently bending the knee to Trump, another set of points against him.

It’s a rare point at which the GOP has both good policy and good politcs.

Good policy: Mitch McConnell is too infirm to serve.

Good politics: Calling for Mitch to step down makes Republicans look like the party of good governance while it simultaneously also focuses the narrative on to Biden’s age.

As much as he’s done during his tenure, he needs to go along with the other old walking corpses like Feinstein.

Until his fall the old corpse was the strongest weapon Conservatives had to have their way. Like Pelosi who stepped down when conservatives cheered the hammer attack on her husband, the attacker looking for her.

Its absence seizures. My late father used to do the same exact thing.

Biden is not in the same boat

                      True, he is not seizing.

But if you cannot admit that he has dementia, you are a partisan hack.

I know youre scared to, but I dare you to watch the below clip.

REPORTER: How is your mental focus?

                      JOE BIDEN: *nervous chuckle*
Oh focused. Ha ha ha Id say its, it is I havent here, look. I have trouble even mentioning, even saying to myself, in my head, the number of years. I no more think of myself being old as I am than fly.

I think any reasonable person would agree. However, we are not talking about Biden resigning. We are talking about the likelihood of him being in the same boat around the time he would start a second term as POTUS.

Biden *could* *potentially*  *in the future* have similar issues due to advancing age.

Like I said in the other thread, imagine Biden in five years at age 86 at the end of his second term.

He cannot answer an unscripted question right now..

He is a puppet. Who is pulling his strings?
