Trumps lawyers send cease-and-desist letter to Bannon
In a letter sent Wednesday night, Trumps lawyers told Bannon his comments to author Michael Wolff in a soon-to-be-released tell-all book violate Bannons employment agreement with Trump in numerous ways and also defame the president.
You have breached the Agreement by, among other things, communicating with author Michael Wolff about Mr. Trump, his family members, and the Company, disclosing Confidential Information to Mr. Wolff, and making disparaging statements and in some cases outright defamatory statements to Mr. Wolff about Mr. Trump, his family members, and the Company, the letter reads.
Trump is described as being enraged at Wolffs new book, Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House, that describes him as not prepared to be president, poorly informed about the basics of governing and ridiculed at times behind his back.
I very much hope that some of these Trump NDAs can be pierced. A lot more people would be talking.-

More than a dozen lawmakers last month met with a Yale University psychiatry professor for two days to discuss President Trump’s fitness for office, Politico
Dr. Bandy X. Lee reportedly met with the group of lawmakers on Dec. 5 and Dec. 6 and warned them the president is “going to unravel.” All of the lawmakers in attendance were Democrats, except for one Republican senator.

The damage is done. There’s hit pieces all over based on this book. Also interesting how the lawyers are looking to enforce an NDA since none of this stuff is true per DJT.
Love the part about him eating McDs in his bathroom while locked in his bedroom.

From [link=http://nym.ag/2CD4Yy3]New York Magazine[/link]:
[blockquote] He conducted more than 200 interviews. In true Trumpian fashion, the administrations lack of experience and disdain for political norms made for a hodgepodge of journalistic challenges. Information would be provided off-the-record or on deep background, then casually put on the record. Sources would fail to set any parameters on the use of a conversation, or would provide accounts in confidence, only to subsequently share their views widely. And the presidents own views, private as well as public, were constantly shared by others. The adaptation presented here offers a front-row view of Trumps presidency, from his improvised transition to his first months in the Oval Office.
[/blockquote] [link=https://www.axios.com/how-michael-wolff-did-it-2522360813.html]Mike Allen[/link] reports Wolff also has tapes to back up quotes in his incendiary book dozens of hours of them.

Now Trump has sent a cease and desist to the reporter Michael Wolff and the publisher trying halt the book going to press.
Good luck with that. (Although I would love to see the open discovery if Trump moves forward with litigation 🙂 )-
Trump Aide Said Drafting of Statement Was Obstruction
[link=https://www.axios.com/axios-am-2522224225.html]Axios[/link] has more from Michael Wolffs [link=http://amzn.to/2CEnaHI]book[/link]:
On the the July 8 preparation aboard Air Force One of the initial (and false) explanation about the Trump Tower meeting with Russians during the campaign, made under Trumps personal direction: Ivanka, according to the later recollection of her team, would shortly leave the meeting, take a pill, and go to sleep. Jared, in the telling of his team, might have been there, but he was not taking a pencil to anything.
Nearby, in a small conference room watching the movie Fargo, were Dina Powell, Gary Cohn, Stephen Miller, and H. R. McMaster, all of whom would later insist that they were, however physically close to the unfolding crisis, removed from it.
Mark Corallo [former spokesman for Trumps personal legal team] privately confiding [to Wolff] that he believed the meeting on Air Force One represented a likely obstruction of justice quit.

In a 2004 cover story for [link=https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_New_Republic]The New Republic[/link], Michelle Cottle wrote that Wolff was “uninterested in the working press,” preferring to focus on “the power playersthe moguls” and was “fixated on culture, style, buzz, and money, money, money.” She also noted that “the scenes in his columns arent recreated so much as createdspringing from Wolffs imagination rather than from actual knowledge of events.” Calling his writing “a whirlwind of flourishes and tangents and asides that often stray so far from the central point that you begin to wonder whether there is a central point.”[link=https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Wolff_(journalist)#cite_note-22][22][/link][/sup]

All the complaints are coming form Trump and the Administration. Haven’t heard Bannon complain the book is misrepresenting him. So who cares about a single criticism of an earlier Wolff book. It’s this one that counts & the only one claiming “fake news” are the boys who are constantly crying “Wolff!” Pardon the pun.
If anyone knows about fake news it is Trump who constantly uses it.
Another comedic point, Trump claiming Bannon was “only” a staffer. Unfortunately for him Bannon was a staffer who knows quite a bit & his opinion about Trump, his Administration & Trump, Jr. are his opinion, something that was valued until only a few hours ago.

So let me get this straight. Per Mr. Wolff, Trump didn’t want to be President, but colluded with the Russians to get himself elected. Did I get that right?
I, too, am enjoying the show…which is being staged by delusional Trump-hating Lefties.

Why is this a left wing media thing
Bannon said the stuff
No one is denying that
From my outside perspective this seems like a sheet show of Bannon badmouthing Ivanka jarred and junior
Seems like the lefties are sitting back and enjoying the show
Basically anything negative about trump cry cry cry about left wing media….. well basically this was from the king of alt right media…… straight out of his mouth
-
We have yet to see just what Bannon did or didn’t say. He came out yesterday saying Trump was a “Great Man” and I don’t think he was referring to his girth.
Let’s face it…the Left wing media has declared itself the weapon to be used against Trump (and anyone who supports him in the slightest.)
Again, please help me understand….Trump didn’t want to be President, but colluded with the Russians to beat Shrillary. Guess that’s just above my pay-grade.

oh I just love seeing the dumb duped Trump supports contort themselves in all different positions over this book–the guy is a LOSER

Did Wolff say that Trump colluded? I didn’t notice that part. When I read the NYmag story it seemed to read that he eventually embraced it. How can this be Trump-hating Lefties when it’s Steve Bannon who’s firing shots?

Many of the Bannon “quotes” concern the Russian stuff, so yes, Wolff is pushing the fake Russiagate meme. And that Trump didn’t want to be President. So why would Trump collude with Russia if he didn’t want to be President?
I take it you boys have no answer for that, just as you had no answer for the fact that Khrushchev proudly intervened to help JFK in 1960. -

Requoting someone making excellent points regarding loose wheels on the bus as the lugs loosen.
Interesting to note that anyone who leaves his administration and causes Trump to get negative coverage, was only a minor player.
Bannon – Minor player with a role that required the highest level of security clearance.
Papadopoulous – Minor unpaid player who somehow managed to get photographed in a meeting with Trump.
Flynn – Minor player with the administration a short time.
Manafort – Minor Manager of his whole campaign.
I wonder who the major players are?
-
We all know the answer to that –in his head-he is major–only I can fix it
not so nice what he is alleged to have said to Hope Hicks but again it shows she is unqualified for the job that she holds-no one on DT team seems to get it that they are suppose to be working for the country–not for Dt or for Corey to get better press/ Javanka to advance the profile
as an aside I hope there is an effort by Congress/medical profess. to make Bipolar Disease/recognition a medical issue that needs to be addressed by the nation just like the opiod crisis –it is a crisis

[What Wolff got right:
[link=https://www.axios.com/the-wolff-lines-on-trump-that-ring-unambiguously-true-2522675021.html]Mike Allen and Jim Vande Hei[/link]: There are definitely parts of Michael Wolffs [link=http://amzn.to/2CEnaHI]Fire and Fury[/link] that are wrong, sloppy, or betray off-the-record confidence. But there are two things he gets absolutely right, even in the eyes of White House officials who think some of the books scenes are fiction: his spot-on portrait of Trump as an emotionally erratic president, and the low opinion of him among some of those serving him.
In the past year, we have had many of the same conversations with the same sources Wolff used. We wont betray them, or put on the record what was off.

I think you and I can glean a certain measure of one’s intelligence from his or her speech, can we not? The Trumps are not sophisticates. They may be shrewd and successful in business, but I simply don’t think they’re the most intelligent people out there. (Nor, by the way, is Obama – lest I be thought to be one of the herd who think him to be a genius. I don’t. He just has a certain ennui that gives the appearance of lofty intellectual detachedness.)
Doesn’t mean I’m not happy to have voted for Trump. But would I prefer a Teddy Roosevelt (IMO, the most accomplished man to have ever served in that office)? Absolutely.-
Don’t fall into the NeverTrumper’s trap. They hate Trump because he is not “genteel and refined” as they would like to envision themselves. He is a coarse New York businessman, and I personally think that is exactly what this nation needs to combat those who would see us destroyed, both from within and from without.

GWB tried to parlay that unrefined aspect and the same people loved him
Just my 2 cents
That being it said its your party maybe you are right

I truly think I am right on this. The previous occupant attempted to “fundamentally transform” this nation into a Socialist banana republic, and that would have been completed by Shrillary had she won.
Just because a handful of white supremacists like Trump does not make him one of them. That is a false tautology. Trump is probably the least racist President in our lifetime. Don’t forget he has Jewish children and grandchildren, and employs more women and other minorities than any of his predecessors. I find the tweets endearing to some degree, and appreciate the raw connection they provide, not filtered or altered by the media who by and large wanted the “fundamental transformation.”
Get over your media-induced revulsion and try to look at what the man is really doing, not what PMSNBC tells you he’s doing.-

To Dalai’s comment on billion dollar company. I’ve only ever seen things that say estimated value. It’s not a public company to my knowledge so no one knows the numbers. Sort of like his taxes. He might have $3billion in real estate and $4 billion in debt (maybe to shady Russians). He owns golf courses and Golf is a dying business.
Not his direct descendant but I’ve seen estimations that Kush is in way over his head on real estate.

How much of his money was from money laundering or other illegal activity?

Right now it’s the name. Arguably it was easy for him being that his father was massively wealthy Fred Trump who had a real estate empire which he took over and renamed TRump Organization. Trump is a name Brand and that I’ll give him. However, I don’t know of anyone who’s looking to stay at a Trump Hotel, buy a Trump shirt/tie, or MAGA hat. I’ve played Trump National Doral but I didn’t like it as much as Seminole or Indian Creek. Good course though.

Deutsche Bank valued him at $970mil in 2010. In the 90s, his net worth was negative.
He himself values his ‘brand’ at 3.5B which is curious as people are paying money to get out of his licensing deals. At this point his ‘brand’ is toxic. He started out at $140mil in 1974 and now he is maybe at $1.5B to $2.5B. That’s pretty mediocre as investors go. A Standard & Poor’s index fund would have beaten him.

My point earlier was prove his worth? I can’t remember where I heard this, maybe Bruce Bartlett, but Trump made a small fortune by squandering a large fortune. He’ll tell you he’s a billionair 10 times over. I thought I read he was worth less than $300mil in cash. If you invested $100million in an index fund in 2009 that’s be worth like $400mil now right? If you did that in the 70’s you’d be bucks up. Like I said though no one really knows because he won’t release financial info.
Doesn’t he hate when people question his worth? Maybe it’s really a lot of fiction.-

Dianne Feinstein unilaterally releases the transcripts from the Fusion GPS congressional testimony.
Analysis coming , but one interesting tidbit is that Fusion head claimed that Steele had said the FBI had a “walk-in whistleblower” from the Trump campaign.
Give it an hour or two and someone will have parsed the documents in full.-
Seems like the main thing I’ve seen is that the testimony indicated the FBI had a walk in whistle-blower from the Trump team that cooberates at least some of the dossier.
Also queue the GOP outrage that Feinstein is obstructing justice etc….-

Not really. You don’t know who it refers to. If you haven’t noticed, some people have a knack for dying in Russia under strange circumstances. Like journalist.
Another bad day for Donald.-
now I see why Bannon threw Manafort under the bus about that meeting–Manafort is going down—->that Russian Oligarch is suing Manafort in court–where is Manafort going to get the money since has already put up so much to stay on home arrest

Bad day for Donald? More like a bad day for the Clinton machine that’s doing the killing. Just ask Seth Rich…Oh, wait, you can’t….

’Sloppy Steve’ to Squeal? -
Sloppy Steve shaved today
my take on his actions today was to buy time and try to get a deal with Mueller given that he in the past he did not need a lawyer
his lawyer though–? conflict of interestQuote from dergon

That’s my take too. Stall with Congress until he can get in to a room with Mueller and then Steve can let him know that he knows where the bodies are buried.
Although unless there a lot we don’t know about Bannon, there is nothing that jumps out to show him having any criminality.
So open a full honesty might be good enough. Maybe Bannon wants to see what, if anything, Mueller has on him before he talks.-

Is it possible that’s he perhaps in the “smartest person in the room” scenario. So with Bannon it seemed what we heard originally was that he wanted to push his own agenda. Sort of upend the system. He couldn’t do it from within and was let go by team Trump. However, he was in a position that gives him the inside knowledge. So now he can burn it down anyway if he wanted.
-
Assuming he wants to burn it down. He might just get in there and tell Mueller the FBI has become a sh1th0le.
-
because Bannon has some inside knowledge of the FBI or is that just based on your feelings?
-
what did Scaram say about Bannon–he likes to suck his own

Every day it seems he’s more of a one man circus than a president. Grab your Clinton crutch if you will and use it stoke your WikiLeaky, fringey, conspiracies. However, what I said about Russian journalists is correct. Especially the Putin critics. They seem to die mysterious, and violent deaths.

Bannon subpoenaed by Mueller
And Mueller using the grand jury (so no lawyer present) … as opposed to just a sit down talk.

GOP may hold Bannon in contempt
Rep. Peter King (R-NY), a member of the House Intelligence Committee, said he might support a contempt citation for Stephen Bannon if he continues to buck questions on Russian election interference, [link=http://politi.co/2mRlG3y]Politico[/link] reports.
Said King: I have contempt for Bannon anyway.

Its not contempt if you decline to answer a question based on advice of counsel. He is a lawyer, he should know that.-
I don’t think he is immune from contempt is he’s taking direction from the White House counsel. White House counsel isn’t his lawyer.

Sure it can be. If your counsel advises you incorrectly you can still be held in contempt.
You might have a malpractice case against your lawyer… but you’re not exempt.
