It’s crazy to me they’re asking for money.  Especially the part on pitching it to vets.  How many enlisted men/women pulled the kind of BS he’s pulled?  Mike Flynn can go jump of a bridge.

I saw an interesting description on the Manafort warrant being served.  They picked his locks in the middle of the night.  Mueller setting the tempo.

Manafort should have never been hired–look at the staff Trump wanted who could not get security clearance–the swamp starts with the WH
a lot of minorities get this type of treatment everyday

Manafort is asking the FBI to release all transcripts of conversations between him and foreign nationals. Sounds like someone who has nothing to hide. Ball is in the FBIs court.

no –he is trying to see who the FBI knows who he was talking to–so his lawyers can contact
other individuals may face charges–so his request should be limited–he can’t get phone company to tell him who he has been talking to–oh yes like this has been 10 years of shenanigans

so when is IRS going to look at his taxes
and IRS–did u see Politico article on Ivanka’s Bizness partner

His vendors call him a career grifter. His fathers creditors claim hes a fraud and a serial extortionist who shakes people down with trumped-up threats of criminal charges.
Meet Ivanka Trumps longtime friend, matchmaker and business partner, Moshe Lax
Amid so many setbacks, Lax did score at least one massive, if temporary, reprieve thanks to some highly irregular tax relief. In October 2015, the IRS released a $27 million tax lien against his fathers estate, saying the obligation had been satisfied. But last May, the IRS reinstated the lien, saying it had been released by mistake and that the $27 million in back taxes had never actually been paid.
Michael Macgillivray, a prominent Chicago attorney specializing in tax collections and a veteran of the IRS collections department, was gobsmacked by the botched lien release. That is extremely extraordinary, he said. Of the things Ive seen in my practice, nothing has even remotely approached a million dollars when there was an erroneously released lien.
MacGillivray added that he had difficulty fathoming the explanation the IRS offered on the form reinstating the lienthat the lien had been released mistakenly. A spokesman for the IRS said the agency does not comment on individual cases.
I could not believe that on a $27 million issue somebody would just make a mistake like that. Youd think thered be a lot of due diligence, MacGillivray said. I cant say its corruption because the IRS has 80,000 employees and there are incompetents.  [strike][/strike]

Looks like Morgan Freeman getting the Fox News/Russian propaganda attack treatment for speaking up about the Russian attacks on America’s election.

But the 80-year-old stars tenure in the business probably failed to prep him for the Russian reaction that greeted a two-minute online video he recorded recently for a group hoping to keep alive concerns over Kremlin meddling in the 2016 Presidential election.

Freeman is being portrayed as a tool of the U.S. establishment trying to bring down Trump, and as a man suffering from a Messianic complex from movie roles playing God and the president of the United States.

A #StopMorganLie hashtag is circulating aimed at discrediting the actor.

CNN has learned that the FBI and the US intelligence community last year took the Steele dossier more seriously than the agencies have publicly acknowledged. James Clapper, then the director of national intelligence, said in a January 2017 statement that the intelligence community had “not made any judgment that the information in this document is reliable.”  The intelligence agencies, particularly the CIA, and the FBI took Steele’s research seriously enough that they kept it out of a publicly-released January report on Russian meddling in the election in order to not divulge which parts of the dossier they had corroborated and how.

So the Podesta group for years lobbied Hillary Clintons state department on behalf of the russians and that’s a-ok. Yet some text messages between Flynn and the russian ambassador after the election was long over are the crime of the century. Got it.

it would be real stupid to get out of the Iran deal now because they already got back THEIR money so he would be letting them have their money and nucs as well-stupid

Yup, remove all contribution limits but require full disclosure of all contributions. Oh, and limitation to a single term for any elected office. Like the VA governors election. That’s always a shit-show worth watching.

No more PACs of any kind.  I’m thinking more like just public funding.  Fund it by taxing the bejesus out of facebook and twitter for spreading all the propaganda.  No more lobby money.

Why do you want to abolish freedom of speech and the freedom of citizens to bound together to seek redress of their grievances ? Exclusively government funded elections, general Secretary Ceausescu would be proud of you! Do you think comrade Obama would have fallen short at something like 95% of the votes in 2012 or could he have reached the full 104% under such a regime ?

Remember, without silly contribution restrictions, agent Zuckerberg and Jeff Bezos could just make direct contributions to further their agenda, no more need to do it covertly through their respective businesses. For every Koch or Adelson, there is some dot.com billionaire willing to reshape the country into a collectivist Utopia.

Former Trump adviser George Papadopoulos made a significant claim in an email: Top Trump campaign officials agreed to a pre-election meeting with representatives of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The message, if true, would bolster claims that Trumps campaign attempted to collude with Russian interests. But its unclear whether Papadopoulos, who pleaded guilty to lying to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, was merely boasting when he sent the July 14, 2016, email to a Kremlin-linked contact. Theres also no indication such a meeting ever occurred.

The email is cited in an FBI agents affidavit supporting criminal charges against Papadopoulos, a young foreign policy volunteer on Trumps campaign. But its not included in court documents that detailed his secret guilty plea and his cooperation with Special Counsel Robert Mueller.
Teagan Goddard: Mueller accuses Paul Manafort and Rick Gates of conspiracy against the United States: Thats a clear indication that these charges are not just about financial crimes.

Special counsel Robert Mueller is using evidence of financial crimes to extract as much leverage as he can to get Manafort to testify against President Trump. By indicting Gates, a close confidant of Manafort, he hopes to play both men off each other to see who might cooperate first. Manafort likely knows that if he doesnt cooperate, Mueller can turn to Gates for very similar information.

Whats also clear from todays indictments is that Papadopoulos was not needed to snare Manafort since Mueller already had him on financial crimes. That means Papadopoulos likely provided information on someone else. To get his plea deal, its probably someone in Trumps inner circle.

All of this means Mueller probably has much more information than we know. If evidence in this investigation were scarce, Mueller would have to target officials much lower on the food chain than Manafort. By indicting Trumps campaign manager today rather than someone much less important it means hes that much closer to getting Trump himself.

Leaks Show Wilbur Ross Hid Ties to Putin Cronies, failed to disclose
Wilbur Ross, the commerce secretary in the Trump administration, shares business interests with Vladimir Putins immediate family, and he failed to clearly disclose those interests when he was being confirmed for his cabinet position.

Ross a billionaire industrialist retains an interest in a shipping company, Navigator Holdings, that was partially owned by his former investment company. One of Navigators most important business relationships is with a Russian energy firm controlled, in turn, by Putins son-in-law and other members of the Russian presidents inner circle.

Some of the details of Rosss continuing financial holdings much of which were not disclosed during his confirmation process are revealed in a trove of more than 7 million internal documents of Appleby, a Bermuda-based law firm, that was leaked to the German newspaper [link=http://www.sueddeutsche.de/]Süddeutsche Zeitung[/link]. The documents consist of emails, presentations and other electronic data. These were then shared with the [link=https://www.icij.org/]International Consortium of Investigative Journalists[/link] a global network that won the Pulitzer Prize this year for its work on the [link=https://panamapapers.icij.org/20170410-pulitzer-prize.html]Panama Papers[/link]  and its international media partners. NBC News was given access to some of the leaked documents, which the ICIJ calls the Paradise Papers.

In Rosss case, the documents give a far fuller picture of his finances than the filings he submitted to the government on Jan. 15 as part of his confirmation process. On that date, Ross, President-elect Donald Trumps choice for commerce secretary, submitted a letter to the designated ethics official at the department, explaining steps he was taking to avoid all conflicts of interest.

That explanation was vital to his confirmation, because Ross held financial interests in hundreds of companies across dozens of sectors, many of which could be affected by his decisions as commerce secretary. Any one of them could represent a potential conflict of interest, which is why the disclosures, by law, are supposed to be thorough.
What did Donald Trump Jr. ask for at that meeting? The Russian lawyer just spoke out.
The Bloomberg reporters interviewed the Russian lawyer, Natalia Veselnitskaya, in Moscow for 2½ hours. She claims that Donald Trump Jr. who attended the meeting with Jared Kushner and Paul Manafort said that if Trump won, hed be open to pushing for changes to a U.S. law that targets Russian officials. That is interesting, because it alleges that Donald Trump Jr. offered to be more friendly with Russia in exchange for potential assistance with the campaign.

President Donald Trump’s son-in-law and senior adviser, Jared Kushner, forwarded emails about a “Russian backdoor overture and dinner invite” to Trump campaign officials and [link=http://www.businessinsider.com/senate-judiciary-committee-jared-kushner-document-request-2017-11]failed to produce those emails to the Senate Judiciary Committee[/link], two senators on the committee [link=https://www.feinstein.senate.gov/public/_cache/files/6/d/6d69f200-c605-4424-87ac-7158b8ea161d/939EC01CF7731069B466775F920174C9.kushner-letter.pdf]said in a letter to Kushner’s lawyer[/link] on Thursday.

Kushner also failed to produce emails he was copied on involving communication with the anti-secrecy agency WikiLeaks and with a Belarusian-American businessman named Sergei Millian, the senators said. Millian most recently headed a group called the Russian-American Chamber of Commerce.

“There are several documents that are known to exist but were not included in your production,” Sens. Chuck Grassley, the committee’s chairman, and Dianne Feinstein, its ranking member, wrote to Kushner.

The “Russian backdoor overture” could be a reference to Kushner’s meeting in December with Sergey Kislyak, then Russia’s ambassador to the US, that was also attended by Michael Flynn, the incoming national security adviser. The senators said on Thursday that Kushner had not provided all the information it requested related to his communications with Flynn.

Manafort Had Deeper Russia Ties Than Known
Paul Manafort took at least 18 trips to Moscow and was in frequent contact with Vladimir Putins allies for nearly a decade as a consultant in Russia and Ukraine for oligarchs and pro-Kremlin parties, [link=http://www.mcclatchydc.com/news/nation-world/article186102003.html]McClatchy[/link] reports.

Even after the February 2014 fall of Ukraines pro-Moscow President Viktor Yanukovych, who won office with the help of a Manafort-engineered image makeover, the American consultant flew to Kiev another 19 times over the next 20 months while working for the smaller, pro-Russian Opposition Bloc party. Manafort went so far as to suggest the party take an anti-NATO stance, an Oppo Bloc architect has said. A key ally of that party leader, oligarch Viktor Medvedchuk, was identified by an earlier Ukrainian president as a former Russian intelligence agent, 100 percent.

It was this background that Manafort brought to Donald Trumps presidential campaign, which he joined in early 2016 and soon led. His web of connections to Russia-loyal potentates is now a focus of federal investigators.

CNN on Comey–yes the tea is real
Shortly after former Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn pleaded guilty Friday to lying to the FBI about conversations with Russia’s ambassador, former FBI Director James Comey shared a justice-minded verse from the Bible on Twitter and Instagram.
“‘But let justice roll down like waters and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream,’ Amos 5:24,” Comey wrote, referring to the Bible’s book of Amos.
Comey tweeted the same biblical passage in November after President Donald Trump called the former FBI director a “liar.” Comey, a United Methodist and one-time Sunday school teacher, said it’s his “favorite scripture verse.”  [strike][/strike]

Trump, Russia, “Collusion” … the big picture

Whether or not these actions amounted to a crime, [link=https://twitter.com/AshaRangappa_/status/937139548500516864]writes[/link] former FBI counterintelligence agent Asha Rangappa, it was a coordinated, covert effort directly against the interests of the United States. It threw off what was likely a lot of planning and analyses and contingencies that various agencies had prepared. I think when we focus exclusively on the criminality aspect, we (continue to) miss how these efforts essentially aided and abetted a hostile foreign state who attacked our country. That is the big picture.

If the story were to end where we are right now, with no further confessions or indictments or revelations, it would still amount to the biggest scandal in American political history. In the real world, Robert Mueller has flipped Flynn and allowed him to plea to (much) lesser crimes, most likely in exchange for incriminating evidence against Trump campaign and administration highers-up.

At this point, to say collusion allegations remain unproven is materially misleading. Collusion has been conclusively proven; we are in the process of learning how extensive it was, and whether, in the course of it, American conspirators committed federal crimes.
pay dirt–this is where I recall in Vanity Fair–when the 80 was going badly–these people gave DT money–was it German fondness or like Russia–they wanted a spy–everybody spies on everybody–if DT can’t pay his bills-his debtors ain’t getting paid–hopefully IRS is checking out those Docs to
DT team is all a twitter why because DT is a Twitter addict–now Dowd will join the ranks of lawyers disbarred just like Scooter Libby–maybe like Al Capone it will all go down to taxes
and the 90 million the Russian oligarch paid for that Florida home

Putin’s argument writ large with Faux & other right wing media. There is no ethics and morality. For every fault you point out on their side they will point to a “whatabout” false equivalence. No one believes it except the loyal believers but in their minds they hav trashed the original complaint. So Trump working with Russians to undermine American elections is a non issue.

If you can quote crooked, I’ll quote American thinker and expect full respect from you.

As to Frumious’ petulant, childish response, that is exactly what I expected. It’s no fun being caught with your pants down, is it? Apparently pointing out the utter hypocrisy of someone’s position constitutes trolling. I’ll remember that when dealing with certain people on AI topics.

To quote Luke Skywalker, “Impressive. Every word in (Frumious’) sentence (well, post) was wrong.” My point was simple, as am I. There is no Russian “collusion” beyond some useless Facebook posts, if those are even real. The Russians had no hand in electing Trump. But their predecessors, the Soviets, DID have a hand in electing JFK, and ol’ Nikita even bragged about it! So where are you Russia-phobes? I’m not justifying anything Putin has ever done or not done. YOU people are the folks who are “OK” with Russian interference, as long as YOUR candidate wins. While you are too far gone in your devotion to Shrillary and the Democrats, rational people realize that if the tables were turned, had Shirllary the Crook won, and Trump supporters started in with this idiotic “Russia did it!!” cr@p, you would laugh them off the stage. You know this is true, so don’t bother telling the fib that you wouldn’t have done so.

I wouldn’t have been OK with Russia. Interference on behalf of any candidate. I think the big difference is now we have these online social sites that make it really easy to Target and try and sway people. This is no different than If foreigners secretly funded PACS. You’re Hook line and sinker because you want to frame everyone not wanting Russian meddling as Hillary supporters. I’m not a Hillary aupporter yet I can still the cloud of stink surrounding team Trump.

I agree with your statement that it would never be ok for Russia to meddle–this is why the current GOP are unfit for the elected positions that they hold-Ryan/McCarthy all knew about Russian alliance to the point that they felt he and Dana got checks from Moscow but they did not say a word–It took a CIA agent to tape them and have that leak out
I just am surprised about the low level sleaze balls that the Trump train seems to be affiliated with-like Russian Mafia is like the bottom of the drain
Hope Orin Hatch gets booted–he has shown his true nature and should step down–pathetic–maybe that ex CIA agent should run for his seat
