Webster did it.
The FBI, like anyone else, can indict a ham sandwich.
“Lied”. We’ve been through this. Anyone who talks to the FBI can be made a liar. If you aren’t Lois Lerner and can’t get a presidential pardon, you can be screwed over nothing. That should tell you something about the “system”

The same thing is going to sink Trump. Nothing illegal was done until the investigation started.

Does it matter when the illegal action started? Lying under oath to the FBI is the illegal action, period. Watergate’s prosecution was built largely on lying as was Iran-Contra, as was Clinton’s impeachment.

Kompromat –
The dossiers pee-pee tape claim is viewed with derision by most Western spies who know the Russians. Its very likely that the Kremlin possesses kompromat on the presidentsenior intelligence sources from several countries have confirmed to me that unpleasant videos of Trump existyet theres no reason to believe Steeles particular claim here, without corroborating evidence.
So, Steeles porn-worthy allegation appears to be untrue, but the idea that our president has acted out in sexually controversial (and perhaps illegal) waysand that somebody has filmed itis taken very seriously by intelligence experts. Ever since Trump announced his candidacy for the White House in June 2015, espionage gossip everywhere has bandied about what might exist to corroborate decades of rumors about Trumps antics.
Its plausible that such kompromat exists, given our presidents lifestyle. Forty years ago, when he was partying at Manhattans Studio 54 at its cocaine-fueled heyday alongside celebrities and hangers-on (including the just-indicted Paul Manafort and the swinging Roger Stone), it was a wild scene of which Trump boasted: I would watch supermodels getting screwed, well-known supermodels getting screwed, on a bench in the middle of the room. There were seven of them and each one was getting screwed by a different guy.

If you cannot grasp the concept that Obama conducted himself with more style, dignity and class than Trump, you are one of those that Trump refers to when he stated,”I could shoot someone on 5th avenue, and the people would still love me.”
Even my most diehard Trumper friends have no problem pointing out his social awkwardness, clumsy dialect and predilection for embarrassing himself and the country.

all your nothing burgers could have been easily headed off if Trump just didn’t compromise himself, and surrounded himself with compromised people. It’s a problem of their own making because you don’t know what’s real, what’s fake. Just look at the Russian lawyer lady. She could say anything and it’s their own fault for being stupid enough to go meet her (mind you Junior even admitted to compromising emails). You like to talk about stupid, time to look at your boy Dotard in Chief.

[link=https://bloom.bg/2hyXShM]Bloomberg[/link]: Manafort wire transfers drawing scrutiny
The federal indictment of Paul Manafort, President Trumps former campaign chairman, accuses him of laundering millions in foreign payments to pursue a lavish lifestyle in the U.S., especially in the Hamptons, where he has a house. What it doesnt explain or highlight are the stratospheric payments he made to home improvement companies when his renovation work was estimated at far less.
Special Counsel Robert Mueller, in his indictment, says that a Hamptons firm got $5.4 million in wire transfers from Cyprus over 71 payments. But building permits over the same period examined by Bloomberg show that renovations by Manaforts Hamptons contractor were estimated to cost $1.2 million. Thats less than a quarter of what was ultimately sent an apparent discrepancy that could draw scrutiny from investigators.
-
So what’s the import. That he’s laundering through constructioncompanies. I wonder what companies those are but it’s only discribed as Vendor A.
His yard looks pretty cool. Par 3 in the backyard with a bunker. That’s pretty awesome.-
My NOTHING BURGER is still tasting great. How many more pages of nothing can you guys produce>

Special counsel backs out of bail deal with Paul Manafort, saying he tried to hide a public relations effort[/link]
Paul Manafort ghost-wrote an editorial about his political work in Ukraine, violating a court order, according to a new court filing from the special counsels office.
The allegation was disclosed Monday as the reason the special counsel was backing out of a deal on bail with Manaforts lawyers. The deal would have loosened the terms of house arrest for President Trumps former campaign manager.
Manafort wanted to be allowed to travel among a few states in return for [link=http://www.latimes.com/politics/washington/la-na-pol-essential-washington-updates-ex-trump-campaign-manager-paul-manafort-1512084470-htmlstory.html]agreeing to forfeit $11.6 million in property[/link] if he missed a court appearance.
The special counsels office, which is investigating whether anyone in Trumps orbit helped Russia interfere in last years presidential campaign, said Manafort helped draft the editorial in recent days, working with a Russian who has ties to that countrys intelligence services.
That writing violated a Nov. 8 court order “prohibiting such out-of-court statements in order to protect the fairness of the upcoming trial, the court filing said.
The editorial clearly was undertaken to influence the publics opinion of defendant Manafort, or else there would be no reason to seek its publication (much less for Manafort and his long-time associate to ghostwrite it in anothers name), the court filing said. It compounds the problem that the proposed piece is not a dispassionate recitation of the facts.

Manfort is going to end up in jail awaiting trial–he is a flight risk and seems to be incapable of following the rules
–what was the amount of money Manafort needed to become whole??? at this rate he will never be able to pay that back–so he is in a big pile of doo doo

In the four-page filing Monday, prosecutor Andrew Weissman urged the judge to reject the bail deal, arguing that Manafort and a Russian colleague have been secretly ghostwriting an English-language editorial that appeared to defend Manaforts work advising a Russia-friendly political party in Ukraine.
They said Manafort worked on the draft as recently as last week with a long-time Russian colleague … who is currently based in Russia and assessed to have ties to a Russian intelligence service. [h2]The Idiots Guide to the Roger Stone trial[/h2] The trial could offer juicy tidbits about the Trump campaign, showcase a parade of colorful Trumpworld figures and even feature a conspiracy linked to the Ukraine scandal. The Roger Stone circus is going on trial.
Starting Tuesday, Stone, the conservative provocateur and longtime adviser to Donald Trump, will be in federal court fighting charges that he obstructed a congressional investigation into whether the president won the 2016 campaign with the help of Russian hackers.
…
It seems like ages ago, but it was only January when Stone [link=https://www.politico.com/story/2019/01/25/roger-stone-arrested-following-mueller-indictment-1125445]got indicted [/link]for lying to Congress and obstructing its 2016 Russia probe.
…
Turns out, the charges lodged against Stone were the last to come from Mueller before he closed up shop less than two months later. Fast forward to November. Jurors over the next two to three weeks will be asked to determine Stones guilt or innocence on seven counts that essentially boil down to whether he obstructed House Intelligence Committee investigators starting in mid-2017 with false testimony, lying about having relevant records and then tampering with another witness.
Stone has pleaded not guilty to the charges and has been out on bond since his initial arrest.

Mueller requests trial date for Manafort, Gates[/h1]Special prosecutor [link=http://thehill.com/people/robert-mueller]Robert Mueller[/link] has requested a trial date for former Trump campaign chair [link=http://thehill.com/people/paul-manafort]Paul Manafort[/link] and his business associate, Rick Gates, according to a [link=https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-trump-russia-trial/mueller-to-request-may-14-trial-date-for-manafort-and-associate-court-filing-idUSKBN1F12ID?il=0]Reuters[/link] report.
In a court filing Friday, Mueller’s team of prosecutors requested a trial date of May 14, according to the filing at the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. Manafort and Gates were indicted in October of last year on charges of money laundering and tax fraud.
The charges stem from Mueller’s ongoing probe into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. Manafort has denied colluding with Russia, and has plead not guilty to the charges.

[h1][b]DOJ IG Probe Begins Into Roger Stones Sentencing[/b][/h1]
The Justice Departments Office of the Inspector General has begun investigating the circumstances surrounding the sentencing recommendation for Roger Stone, a longtime friend of President Trump, [link=https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/justice-department/justice-department-internal-watchdog-investigating-roger-stone-s-sentencing-say-n1240033]NBC News[/link] reports.
The investigation is focused on events in February, according to the two sources who spoke on the condition of anonymity, when prosecutors for Stone have said they were told to seek a lighter sentence for Stone than they had previously considered.
Attorney General William Barr ultimately intervened to override the prosecutors recommendation of seven to nine years and ask for a lighter sentence. All four prosecutors quit the case as a result.

If they thought that sending someone to prison for the rest of his life for fibbing on the timing of some emails and phonecalls was appropriate, then justice is advanced by them resigning. Regrettably, only one of them is resigning from the DOJ, the rest are going to be around to mete out disproportionate justice for years to come.-
Roger Stone wasn’t Popodopolous, or even Flynn.
He was convicted of obstruction of a congressional investigation, witness tampering, and five separate counts of false statements.
-
The recommendation was not a life sentence but 7-9 years, “according to Federal sentencing guidelines!”
The fact that all the prosecutors resigned at the same time shows the interference was not about improving sentencing guidelines but about the politicization of Jjustice.
That is the textbook definition of corruption by authoritarians.

Mr. Stone, a Republican consultant who has been a political adviser to Mr. Trump for decades, was sentenced to 40 months of incarceration, a $20,000 fine and two years of supervised release by Judge Amy Berman Jackson at a morning hearing in federal court in Washington, D.C. on charges of lying to Congress, obstruction and witness tampering.
Judge Jackson acknowledged Mr. Stones history of cultivating a public persona as a provocateur and a prankster.
The problem is that nothing about this case was a joke. It wasnt funny. It wasnt a stunt and it wasnt a prank. Stones conduct displayed flagrant disrespect for the institutions of government as established by the Constitution, including Congress and this court, said Judge Jackson in sentencing Mr. Stone.

Aaron Selinksy, who was one of the prosecutor’s of the Roger Stone case, is saying under oath that he was [i]explicitly [/i]told that the “motivation for changing the sentencing memo was political, and because hte US attorney was afraid of the President.”

What I saw was the Department of Justice exerting significant pressure on the line prosecutors in the case to obscure the correct Sentencing Guidelines calculation to which Roger Stone was subject and to water down and in some cases outright distort the events that transpired in his trial and the criminal conduct that gave rise to his conviction. Such pressure resulted in the virtually unprecedented decision to override the original sentencing recommendation in his case and to file a new sentencing memorandum that included statements and assertions at odds with the record and contrary to Department of Justice policy. What I heard repeatedly was that Roger Stone was being treated differently from any other defendant because of his relationship to the President. I was told that the Acting U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, Timothy Shea, was receiving heavy pressure from the highest levels of the Department of Justice to cut Stone a break, and that the U.S. Attorneys sentencing instructions to us were based on political considerations. I was also told that the acting U.S. Attorney was giving Stone such unprecedentedly favorable treatment because he was afraid of the President. That explanation was deeply unsettling. Together with my fellow line Assistant United States Attorneys, I immediately and repeatedly raised concerns, in writing and orally, that such political favoritism was wrong and contrary to legal ethics and Department policy. Our objections were not heeded. When I learned that the Department was going to issue a new sentencing memo, I made the difficult decision to resign from the case and my temporary appointment in the U.S. Attorneys Office in D.C. rather than be associated with the 3 Department of Justices actions at sentencing. I returned to the U.S. Attorneys Office in Maryland, where I work today

Maybe they should impeach him.

During the interview, Stone said he wanted to appeal to the president to grant him clemency so that I can avoid dying in a dank squalid prison someplace when I should be on the battlefield doing everything I humanly can — on my own, Im not looking for a job — to reelect this president.[/i]

GOP Senate Report shows that Trump lied to federal investigators …Clear Evidence of Trumps Collusion with Russia[/h1]
The [link=https://www.intelligence.senate.gov/sites/default/files/documents/report_volume5.pdf]final Senate Intelligence Committee report[/link] on Russian interference in the 2016 election confirms that Donald Trump and his campaign operatives solicited, welcomed and benefited from Russian assistance.
The report also detailed extensive evidence of contacts between Trump campaign operatives and people tied to the Kremlin.
[b]”Despite Trump’s recollection, the Committee assesses that Trump did, in fact, speak with Stone about WikiLeaks and with members of his Campaign about Stone’s access to WikiLeaks…”[/b]
Most damning are the ties of Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort with Konstantin Kilimnik, who was identified as a Russian intelligence officer. Manafort hired Kilimnik, discussed campaign strategy and shared internal campaign polling data with him. Manafort later lied to federal investigators about his contacts with Kilimnik. Senate investigators also uncovered information possibly tying Kilimnik directly to Russias major election interference operations.
Also incriminating are the fact that two people who met at Trump Tower in 2016 with Manafort, Jared Kushner and Donald Trump Jr. had significant connections to Russian government, including the Russian intelligence services. The report concluded that the connections between the Russian government and one of the individuals were far more extensive and concerning than what had been publicly known.
Finally, the report details Roger Stones efforts to use illegally-hacked information from Wikileaks to distract from the release of the [i]Access Hollywood[/i] tape in the final weeks of the election.
For whatever reason, prosecutors in the Mueller investigation determined that there wasnt sufficient evidence to charge anyone with a crime directly related to the conspiracy.
But that doesnt change the facts that there was clear and willing collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia to influence the 2016 election.
That was and continues to be a national disgrace.

[b]Justice Department Secretly Narrowed Investigation …Never Examined Trumps Ties to Russia[/b][/h1]
The Justice Department secretly took steps in 2017 to narrow the investigation into Russian election interference and any links to the Trump campaign, keeping investigators from completing an examination of President Trumps decades-long personal and business ties to Russia, the [link=https://www.nytimes.com/2020/08/30/us/politics/trump-russia-justice-department.html]New York Times[/link] reports.
“… law enforcement officials never fully investigated Mr. Trumps own relationship with Russia, even though some career F.B.I. counterintelligence investigators thought his ties posed such a national security threat that they took the extraordinary step of opening an inquiry into them. Within days, the former deputy attorney general Rod Rosenstein curtailed the investigation without telling the bureau, all but ensuring it would go nowhere.

[link=https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/518981-judge-orders-doj-to-publish-info-redacted-as-privileged-from-mueller]Judge orders DOJ to publish redacted info designated as privileged from Mueller report[/link]
A federal judge on Wednesday ordered the Department of Justice to publish information redacted from the Mueller report that had been designated as privileged.
District Court Judge Reggie Walton said that the Trump administration had failed to justify certain redactions from the report on the special counsel’s investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election.
The specific redactions he took issue with cover the decision-making process within [link=https://thehill.com/people/robert-mueller]Robert Mueller[/link]’s team over whether to charge certain people with crimes during the probe.
“Based on the Courts review of the unredacted version of the Mueller Report, the Court concludes that the Department has failed to satisfy its burden to demonstrate that the withheld material is protected by the deliberative process privilege,” Walton, who was appointed by former President George W. Bush, [link=https://www.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.dcd.205521/gov.uscourts.dcd.205521.130.0_4.pdf]wrote[/link] in his 40-page opinion.
The decision comes as a result of a pair of lawsuits under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) brought by a journalist with Buzzfeed and the Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC) that sought to have the full, unredacted report released to the public.
