What can anyone share about Breast CT imaging? Do your facilities have it yet? Talking about it?
    Specifically:
    1. Do you need to use the vendors’ (in this case Koning) software or do standard PACS CT tools/3D manipulation tools work well enough for what is needed? (hoping to not need separate viewer/dictation integration etc…
    2. What are the study sizes? I have heard anywhere from 3-10GB. Confirm?
    3. Are the studies generally part of a diagnostic work up or is this going to be the new “screening” tool.  In a way it seems that Breast CT is the future of Breast Tomo, much like CT abdomens replaced the IVP and Tomo slices from the Xray modalities.  Is this the pathway?
    4. Radiation Dose info?
    5. Anything else you can share on the subject would be greatly appreciated as I’m not finding much in the way of practical information online.

I am going to share this on the general radiology forum as well for clinical perspective.
This is the vendor we are looking at :

Not everyone is a candidate for MR
acquisition time is only 7 seconds per breast.
Radiation dose is down to similiar/close to MG.

It’s beginning to happen slowly around the country.  Research done at Emory and other places.  Knoxville TN is company’s us base I believe.
Take a look at the website as it describes some of the specs.
