Anyone know of any PP looking to hire remote rads for swingevening coverage?
Posted by rrivas.ronald on July 11, 2020 at 9:02 pmLong story short: I’m the GF not the radiologist- but I started reading Aunt Minnie about 5 years ago to try to gain a better understanding about your industry and unique job pressures. I am currently helping my partner track down job leads as his current group was impacted by Covid. He has found a couple of positions in the usual places (ACR, Radworking etc) but the overwhelming majority posted right now are corporate (RP, Envision, etc). I figured it couldnt hurt to post here and see if anyone knew of other opportunities. We are in Hawaii so he is well situated to provide remote swing/ evening or overnight coverage to groups on EST,CST, or MTN. His subspecialty is neuro (with CAQ)- I think that he reads most things except for mammo and 2nd/3rd trimester OB. 5 plus years telerad experience. Please feel free to PM. Thanks for reading- and apologies if I’ve broken any board etiquette.

You are the most informed non Radiologist who has ever posted here. I have no leads, but good luck

Good morning,
East Coast PP group here with a long-standing program using telerads for swing shift, some of whom are also Hawaii based. I believe we are actively recruiting for expansion purposes. Glad to put you in touch with our admin team who can see if there is a good fit. Dont know if there is a way to private message on AM to spare everyone the communication?

Why are we doing the Miles Standish routine here?
I guess it could be due to a need for a layer of anonymous protection?
Well, anyway, good luck, but in all cases our group would not negotiate with anyone but the radiologist themselves. Other than someone local who is in the same social group and heard we were looking and would it be OK if John called you etc?-
I know that posting for someone else is not typical- I chose to do so because he had weekend call and is usually pretty tired after working two consecutive weeks. I just wanted to give him a little bit of respite from the job search for a couple of days. I was hoping that posting here might lead to folks referring to career opportunities that are listed on practice websites but perhaps haven’t been listed on ACR et al. And just so its completely clear, I certainly have no intention of remaining a point of contact for him beyond simply identifying open positions.
…Also as the millennial in the relationship (He’s a gen x)- I might be the more avid user of social media [:D]
by the way Miles Standish was a new colloquialism for me- thanks for the fun google bunny trail 🙂 Have a great week!

Our group has also had good results remotely-staffing via tele (it beats depending purely on enticing new recruits to relocate!)…we’ve got daytimes and nights available. Hit me up if you’d like to hear more!

Same thing from here in Cleveland.
The only down side is that now there are long-standing group members looking around and sayaing “Hey! Why can’t I remote read from my place in Santa Fe?!”-
Funny you should say…we have a group (committee? subcommittee? coffee klatsch?) that’s been convened specifically to dope out how to balance such concerns, lest anybody feel like they’re getting short end of the stick.
One of the no-brainers: Offsite guys get interrupted less, so are expected to yield higher hourly RVUs.

This sounds like it could be a great fit. I would definitely appreciate contact info for the group that I will pass on to my partner. I think you can send a PM message by hovering over my username and then clicking on send a private message 🙂 Thank you so much! Apologies for the slightly delayed reply- somehow I got talked into baking a german chocolate cake this weekend too!

You are a great partner!
Not to rain on anyone’s parade, but if your partner takes another remote reading job, you may end back up in the same situation as you are now, again and again and again and again. just putting that out there. good luck
