37-year-old woman with dry mouth and mild firmness along both cheeks

A 37-year-old woman presented with dry mouth and mild firmness along both cheeks. Her history was significant for thyroid cancer, status post-thyroidectomy and radioactive iodine ablation therapy in the previous year. Since then, her dry mouth had been progressively worsening.

CASE INSTRUCTIONS:

  4. Click the right navigation arrow at the top of the page to take you to the next step in the case. If the next step is to complete a “Quiz,” you can click the “Quiz” button.
  5. Answer all quiz questions. The “Quiz” section contains questions and additional case information. Make sure you answer the questions in order.
  6. Click the “Finish Quiz” button at the bottom of the page. If any of your answers are incorrect, click the “View Questions” button to see the correct answer or select “Click Here to Continue” to move onto the next section.
  7. Read the subsequent sections related to the case. The final sections of the case, such as “Discussion” or “Findings and Diagnosis,” provide more relevant information. Each of these sections may contain additional quizzes. If the next step is to complete a “Quiz,” you can click the “Quiz” button.

Note – Throughout the case, you can use the left and right arrows at the top to advance forward or move backward. You can also navigate to any page using the case navigation menu. You may also retake the quiz as many times as you like.
