He pushed vaccines and got them to the wealthiest Floridians first. Ow for everyone else hes pushing the antibody treatment for after you get it. Nothing he does makes much sense to me and its not surprising hes losing his grip.

2020 was a coin flip election, like 2016. 2024 is very likely to also be a close election. It’s just the nature of the current electoral college make-up.

Trump pretty much shattered the idea that Americans wouldn’t vote for a racist, incompetent, a**hole with no qualifications. So in no way am I going to hope for the worst GOP candidate in 2024.
The most important thing I would want to see is that *both* the Republican and the Democrat nominee are strongly pro-Democracy, actively looking to restore confidence in the peaceful transition of power.
Unfortunately, that’s pretty much the opposite of what GOP base voters want. They want a trump fighter who is going to own the libs and scorn institutions.
I would like to see a Hogan, Kasich, Romney-type. Anti-Trump.
But unless the Republican party dynamic changes a lot over the next 2 years, we’re going to get someone Trumpy. The only question is just how Trumpy they are.-
You and I have the same goal then. I suppose the man difference is how to make it happen. I can say one thing for sure. The language of people like chiro, kpack, Fumi etc. make our goal less likely.

Polling on it is mixed. That said, the politics for DeSantis are different than the overall polling. He is likely cruising to an easy re-elect in Florida. He needs to be considered the Trump heir apparent with the GOP base. So he is willing to take some positions that are overall unpopular in order to secure that position with Republican primary voters.

Funny, helping Americans used to be cast as enslaving Americans and making them lazy, as in “getting free stuff,” now helping and even neutral policies for some Americans is being “woke.” The grievances being someone is getting more than they or they have to place nice with LGBTQ people.
