Findings and diagnosis

Findings

Differential diagnosis

  • Bilateral cutaneous injuries (e.g., shaving, harsh chemical products)
  • Infectious disease (tuberculosis, cat-scratch disease, mononucleosis, cytomegalovirus, toxoplasmosis, HIV, etc.)
  • Systemic autoimmune diseases (mixed connective tissue disease, rheumatoid arthritis, scleroderma, etc.)
  • Recent vaccinations
  • Malignancy (lymphoma, melanoma, bilateral breast cancer)

Diagnosis: When recalled, the patient declared that she had been suffering from mixed connective tissue disease and psoriatic arthropathy for the past five years, thus confirming the reactive nature of the axillary lymphadenopathies.
