In Progress
Findings and diagnosis
Pretreatment axial and coronal CT images
Post-treatment axial and coronal CT images
Findings
-
Pretreatment axial and coronal CT images demonstrate low attenuation fluid and inflammatory stranding throughout the retroperitoneum. Few associated mildly prominent lymph nodes do not meet the criteria for lymphadenopathy. There are no signs of located fluid collection, discrete suspicious masses, or retroperitoneal gas.
-
Post-treatment axial and coronal CT images depict a decrease in the size of the previously borderline-sized lymph nodes. They also show resolution of the edema throughout the retroperitoneal space. There is no mesenteric stranding, free fluid, or free air.
Differential diagnosis
- Retroperitoneal fasciitis
- Retroperitoneal lymphoma
- Retroperitoneal fibrosis (Ormond’s disease)
- Extramedullary hematopoiesis
- Retroperitoneal hematoma
Diagnosis: Retroperitoneal fasciitis
