And Bibi jumps the shark…blaming Palestinians for the Holocaust

Then Netanyahu dropped his bombshell. He said: Hitler didnt want to exterminate the Jews at the time; he wanted to expel the Jews. And Haj Amin al-Husseini went to Hitler and said, If you expel them, theyll all come here. So what should I do with them? he asked. He said, Burn them.

Perhaps we should exhume the corpses of the 33,771 Jews murdered in Babi Yar in September 1941, two months before the Mufti and Hitler met, and bring them up to speed on the fact that the Nazis had no intention of destroying them, Galon wrote.

his bigotry never ends…he gets weaker everyday so he has to find an escape goat so the people of Israel who put him back in office don’t wake up from the fog of hate speech and say we sure don’t feel safer under his leadership.

          Now…now boys and girls,

We all know that ANY criticism of Israeli government policies or of PM Mileikowsky – I mean Netanyahu IS

          1. anti-Semetic if committed by a non-Jew

          2. Evidence of self hatred of you are a Jew

So stop it will you ?

By the way, is the distinguished Prime Minister of Israel a self hating East Eurpoean?  Instead of being true to his Polish roots and proudly bearing the name Mileikowsky, he prefers Netanyahu instead.

Each to his own I guess.  I respect the Israeli PM’s right to choose any name he wishes – even if it is not a true reflection of his purely East European (aka non Semetic) roots.

Speaking of the Holocaust, we would all be better served if Netanyahu and co. did not drag that horrific chapter in human history into their petty politics.

Sharon, Rabin, Barak, Peres, Shamir, Meir all didn’t use their eastern european birth names. This is normal in israel, by trying to make a point of out of it you look pretty ignorant.

I care nothing about name changes but really, giving Hitler a pass just to create a new story to blame the Holocaust on the Palestinians for political purposes is pretty despicable.

But then it’s not as if we have never seen altering history in the name of politics before.

Netantahu trying to blame the Holocaust of the mufti of Jerusalem must be especially offensive to Arab citizens if Israel, some of whom serve in the IDF.

But then, why would that bother Netanyahu?

It is offensive to everyone who knows and values history. It is offensive the Bibi would scapegoat a people for political ends totally missing the lesson and irony.

This is not a speech by [extreme right-wing Austrian politician] Jorg Haider. This is not part of the doctorate of [Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud] Abbas [which accused the Zionist movement of collaborating with Nazism and played down the extent of the Holocaust]. It is an absolutely accurate quote by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Its unbelievable, Galon said in a statement.

Perhaps we should exhume the 33,771 Jews killed at Babi Yar in September 1941, two months before the mufti and Hitler ever met, and let them know that the Nazis didnt intend to destroy them. Perhaps Netanyahu will tell that to my relatives in Lithuania murdered by the Nazis along with nearly 200,000 members of the Jewish community there, well before the mufti and Hitler met, she continued.

I am ashamed for you, Mr. Prime Minister, Galon added.

The Dangerous Motivation Behind Netanyahu’s Holocaust Revisionism[/url][/h1]

The first thing to say about Netanyahus historical narrative is that it is absurd. Husseini was a real person. Its accurate to say he was an evil man: He led anti-Jewish riots that were motivated not just by opposition to Zionism but also anti-Semitism. He was an eager, although largely ineffectual, collaborator with the Nazis. Husseini hoped to work with the Nazis to thwart the creation of a Jewish state in Israel. To that end, he raised an army of 6,000 Arabs. This stands in contrast to the tens of thousands of Arabs who fought against the Nazis, including the 9,000 Palestinians who fought with the British. As Hussein Ibish,  senior fellow at the American Task Force on Palestine, [link=http://www.thenational.ae/thenationalconversation/comment/second-world-war-record-of-muslims-is-worth-marking]noted in an article[/link] for [i]The National[/i], “The record is a complex, mixed and nuanced one, but the overarching fact is that Arab and Muslim involvement in the war was overwhelmingly on the Allied side, and was a significant factor in fighting on the ground. The overwhelming majority joined the cause voluntarily, despite British and French colonialism.”

The second thing to say about Netanyahus statement is that he’s trying to smear Palestinian nationalism as being intrinsically anti-Semitic, indeed genocidal. Netanyahus fanciful excursion into Holocaust historiography comes in the context of the larger argument of his speech: that the current outbreak of violence in Israel has nothing to do with Israeli management of the Temple Mount or the on-going occupation. In effect, Netanyahu is arguing that Palestinians have no grievances and are simply motiveless, violent, Jew-hating psychopaths. Which is another way of saying: Palestinians are Nazis.

I was reading about this last night, most people questioning his comments, even scholarly types in Israel.  I wonder sometimes if he slips out of the news, might this be his way to get back in?  So something controversial or slightly nutty.  Then he get’s everyone talking about Bibi again.

This story seems to be way under the radar. Heard some talk about this on NPR. Bibi corruption probe. Supposedly his former admin has turned states evidence so to speak. They found some tapes or something while investigating that might portray bibi in a negative light.

Now here’s something that sounds familiar.

Always happy to intrude upon a left-wing OT circle-jerk, and today it’s to point out that:

                      1. It’s recognized by plenty of historians that Hitler’s initial plan was to expel Jews. In fact, there was mutual understanding between Nazis and Zionists on this point.

                      2. WRT Hitler’s anti-Jewish goals, the Palestinians *were* on board (at least, their leadership was). This isn’t even debated. There are pictures you can look up. It’s not exactly a secret that Islam considers Judaism a mortal enemy.

Looks like Bibi has been indicted for bribery, fraud, and breach of trust.  Interesting also because they apparently didn’t form a coalition government.  Admittedly I don’t understand the Israel political system.

Ben & Jerry’s gets right-wing Israelis’ panties in a knot by refusing to sell their ice cream in the occupied territories.

                      Obviously they anti-Semites.

But selling spyware to murderous dictators to spy on & locate & sometimes kidnap and murder the opposition is just good business.

It is never quiet in Israel, but July brought new scrutiny. First, [link=https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/jul/18/revealed-leak-uncovers-global-abuse-of-cyber-surveillance-weapon-nso-group-pegasus]news broke[/link] that governments around the world have used spyware purchased from an Israeli cybersurveillance company, NSO Group, to target journalists, human rights activists and politicians. The revelations could implicate the Israeli Ministry of Defense in granting NSO permission to export hacking software that was then used by countries with authoritarian governments to suppress dissent. The scandal topped international news for days, but Israeli officials were instead preoccupied with ice cream. On July 19, Ben & Jerrys [link=https://www.benjerry.com/about-us/media-center/palestine-statement]announced[/link] it will no longer be available in the occupied Palestinian territories as of 2023. The divestment story (inaccurately characterized as a boycott) diverted attention from the role Israeli technology plays in global antidemocratic practices. Together the stories highlighted two of Israels defining national enterprises: high tech and perpetual military occupation.

The Israeli governments response to the Ben & Jerrys announcement was swift and voluble. Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and Foreign Minister Yair Lapid insisted the move was anti-Israel and anti-Semitic. Israels ambassador to the United States, Gilad Erdan, appealed to governors of 35 U.S. states to activate anti-Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions [link=https://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/anti-bds-legislation]measures[/link] against the company.

The Israeli government portrayed itself as the victim of a hostile and [link=https://www.gov.il/en/departments/news/spoke_ice_cream190721]unethical[/link] move on the part of the ice cream company. As if Israel itself did not partake in any immoral behavior of its own; as if home demolitions, institutionalized discrimination, land expropriation, administrative detention and shooting at unarmed Palestinian protesters were not problematic; as if an Israeli company selling highly controversial technology to authoritarian regimes were not more questionable than an ice cream company denying its pints to customers who live in certain areas.

The uniformity of official reaction in Israel to the Ben & Jerrys decision reflects an Israeli political consensus unlike that of the international community that does not distinguish between Israeli territory within its internationally recognized 1948 borders and the territories it occupied in 1967.
