UCI-Interventional Radiology Independent 25/26 Position
The University of California Irvine Department of Radiological Sciences currently has an opening for an Interventional Radiology – Independent resident starting July 1, 2025.
The UC Irvine Department of Radiological Sciences offers a one-year or two-year residency training program in interventional radiology through our independent program. One-year training is reserved for applicants with ESIR designation and those who have already completed one year of Interventional Radiology Independent training. Graduates will be eligible for dual board certification in IR/DR.
Resident training is conducted primarily at the UC Irvine Medical Center. Located in Orange County, California, the 6th most populous county in the nation, UC Irvine serves as the county’s only level I trauma center, its only nationally designated comprehensive cancer center, and as a comprehensive stroke center, providing trainees with a wide breadth of pathology. Training is supplemented by rotations at the Long Beach Veteran Affairs Medical Center and St. Joseph Hospital to round out the procedural and clinical experience.
As a whole, our program is resident-centered and offers an exceptionally well-rounded training experience designed to prepare residents for careers in either academic radiology or private practice, all in an amazing location. We offer residents competitive salary and benefits as well as a generous discretionary fund. For more detailed information regarding the program, please visit our website at: https://radiology.uci.edu/education/fellows/interventional-radiology-independent-residency/.
Qualified applicants must have completed or must be currently completing a Diagnostic Radiology residency program. Non-ESIR and ESIR applicants are welcome. To apply, please send a CV, personal statement, and USMLE transcripts to Caroline Nguy at [email protected] .
