  • HELP!!! CAN THE BLOCKCHAIN FRAUD INVESTIGATION UNIT MONITOR MY TRANSACTIONS?

Posted by thabeast on September 18, 2024 at 1:24 pm

My younger brother sold the Chevrolet truck our dad got him for his 18th birthday last year, he initially told me he was going to invest in some business that would yield more profit overtime but I was too busy to pay Attention to what type of investment it was. Unfortunately he was scammed, out of desperation to get his money back he reached out to the Blockchain fraud investigation unit(BFIU) after several reports to the state authorities but nothing was done. at first I was skeptical to reach out to these guys because I’ve seen a lot of post that says you can’t recover whatever you have lost through crypto but since they were recommended by someone we trust and I had seen something related on a building product search website, we had to go for it. We reached out to the team via their fully written bfiu outlook email address and got a response, they asked for the details of the Scam and show of proof that they’ll be partnering with us to get on the case for legal purposes. After we provided everything they needed, they reached out that they’ve been able to track the transaction history of the scammers, also they might be able to recover some money from them since the scammers hadn’t withdrawn everything from the wallet. After a few weeks of constant updates from the team , we were able to recover 65% of his money back. Fast forward to earlier this week, he got a mail from the team that he has to disable or transfer his funds from that particular wallet because they’ve been monitoring the activities of the wallet and they can see it had been compromised by the same IP address related to the scam wallet that his money was recovered from initially and it would be wise to move it to a more secure account. Please does anyone have any idea how this works or it’s just another scam?
