Tucker Carlson says Biden is flooding the US with Afghan refugees in order to “change our country.” By Tucker logic, Democrats will “never lose another election” if these refugees gain entry.
-
The agreement is that as soon as they get off the planes they will vote Democratic. Democrat stooges are harvesting those ballots before the refugees can disembark. THIS as everyone knows is the only way Democrats can win elections over real Americans’ votes, by getting those immigrants in here one way or another to overwhelm the Real American Republican voters.
Sarah Palin saw this coming as she was looking at Russia from her window.

still a long road for anyone that wants to become a US citizen. I don’t think it’s a bad thing. Send some to Cleveland. Plenty of job openings. or start some businesses.

We brought in over 1 million Vietnamese refugees after the Vietnam war. The country did not suffer due to bringing in these people and will not when we bring in the Afghan refugees. If anything, they improve the country.
Now if we could only find a way to send the Tucker Carlsons back to where they came from, that would be a big improvement for America.-

Frumi, you are arguing with a ghost. Nobody here believes Afghan refugees will be a problem. In fact I would guess most would like to welcome them to their communities. Tucker is an ***hole.-

So is there a small group of Americans that are there and dont want to leave?

Yes. Dual citizens with business interests and large local families. They may have acquired US citizenship as refugees in the 80s but returned at some point when things were stable.

Hopefully they’ll remember who abandoned them when they get to that stage.
Now they may be a bit incredulous if they find out that you can vote without an ID in much of the US.-
Yes. I’m sure that’s the first thing they’ll worry about. Voter ID laws. not like where will I live or how will I support my family. or any other culture shock.

I was not going to extend this forever war. And I was not extending a forever exit.
The bottom line: 90% of Americans in Afghanistan who wanted to leave were able to leave. And for those remaining Americans, there is no deadline. We remain committed to get them out, if they want to come out.

It just might be the Taliban is the dog that caught the moving car by biting the tire.
-
How so Frumi? A Pew Research poll says so?
That poll says pretty much what has been discussed in here. I keep hearing the voices of the Afghans and their families who were left behind on NPR interviews. Still makes me sad.

We can inherited a deadline, we did not inherent a plan.
Does this stand up to even the slightest bit of scrutiny?

It’s pure politics. It is technically true, so it’s good for congressional testimony. It deflects blame to the prior administration. It’s just trying to get through the time in the barrel and get past it.
Afghanistan is already fading from the news cycle and is about to be wholly consumed by tax plans, infrastructure, debt ceilings, other elections, etc.
For me, the takeaway quote from that testimony was right on line with American public opinion (and reality): Theres no evidence that staying longer would have made the Afghan security forces or the Afghan government any more resilient or self-sustaining. If 20 years and hundreds of billions of dollars in support, equipment and training did not suffice, why would another year, or five, or 10, make a difference?
Most Americans (except for Republicans who have flip-flopped in record time over support for withdrawal) will approve to the pull-out within a few months and will have just a vague negative memory of the details of the clustertuck that was the actual leaving process.-
Yes. Good political move. Most Americans do have a short memory. They also respond well to saying the same thing over and over, even if its not true.

A lie can travel around the world before the truth even ties its shoes.

I feel like this stuff was already fading from the news for a while. It just happened to be a single shocker with the quick pullout and the terrorist bombing. Kind of like Iraq, Syria, and really the whole middle east. All seems to have faded away.

Republican ranking member Jim Risch really getting to the bottom of Afghanistan issues in his questioning of Sec. State Blinken. …
… by perseverating on whether someone in the White House is controlling Biden’s microphone.
_______
Rubio also just gave a master class in performative outrage by going on a 7 minute rant without asking Blinken a single question.-
I saw some clips of republicans. Most of them are indignant, off topic, or just buttholes. Romney is maybe the only one that asked substantive questions. Someone yesterday mentioned Biden’s kid. They have 0 interest in good governance.

Heck if we didnt reverse course and say we killed 7 kids instead of an isis k target. WTF. I know this crap has been going on for years but how do you botch this one the way out. Didnt kill one of those MFers. Just a bunch of kids.
-
A very big reason to celebrate getting out of Afghanistan. This isnt the first time killing civilians in an OOPS! operation.
