Trump’s cabinet
Posted by Unknown Member on November 11, 2016 at 12:42 pmAny thoughts on what the Donald’s cabinet will look like?
Seems like he’s favoring Ben Carson for Sec’y of Education…really? Someone who denies evolution?
I wonder where Guiliani, Christy, et al will end up…
Especially interested in his choice for Sec’y of State.btomba_77 replied 2 years, 4 months ago 9 Members · 42 Replies -

Maybe they can eliminate the Dept of Education. Home schooling for all americans.
-
I would have guessed Ben Carson for like surgeon general or something like that.
-
No, Trump’s followers are dysfunctional weirdos or just outright intellectually and actually corrupt like Christy, Giuliani & Gingrich.

Ted Cruz being considered for AG.
Makes me gag a bit, but he’s at least more qualified than Giuliani-

Cohen had opposed Trump during the campaign but after the election had encouraged Republicans with national security expertise to consider serving in the Trump administration.
That didn’t last long
After exchange w Trump transition team, changed my recommendation: stay away. Theyre angry, arrogant, screaming you LOST! Will be ugly, tweeted Cohen, who served from 2007 to 2009 as counselor to then-Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. He was a driving force behind an open letter last spring eventually signed by 122 Republican national security leaders who opposed Trumps candidacy.
Cohen, who last week had urged career officials to serve in Trumps administration, said in an interview that a longtime friend and senior transition team official had asked him to submit names of possible national security appointees. After he suggested several people, Cohen said, his friend emailed him back in terms he described as very weird, very disturbing.
It was accusations that you guys are trying to insinuate yourselves into the administrationall of YOU LOST.it became clear to me that they view jobs as lollipops, things you give out to good boys and girls, said Cohen, who would not identify his friend.
Cohen also said the transition official was completely dismissive of concerns raised about Trumps appointment of Bannon, who Trumps advisors have strongly defended.
His friends email conveyed the feeling that were so glad to see the bicoastal elites get theirs, added Cohen, who described the response as unhinged.
With the purge of Christie and Rogers it’s definitely the “reward loyalists” route. I would have hoped for a “team of rivals”, but I’m not surprised.-
Only democrats are stupid enough to pick opposition party guys for cabinet posts.

While I respect such candor it begs the question, why did he run to be president?!
-
Maybe the implication is you don’t need gov’t experience or expertise to be President, because the real decision makers are the people in the Cabinet, and the President is merely a figurehead or puppet?
-
because he wanted to increase his speaker fees, sell Christmas with Candy CD–
he was just there to provide a black face as wellQuote from rayZor

He was dragged into this by folks who liked his one healthcare speech.
As the junior senator from Illinois demonstrated, lack of executive experience and qualification is no deterrent to running for higher office.
I think he is just done with the circus.

and wants to avoid a heck of a job brownie–should a health care virus/ebola erupt cause he knows he is not qualified–Ben’s best days imho are gone–now he seems overly sedated and spouts bizarre things

Reporting coming out that Romney will met Trump to be considered for Secretary of State.

That would continue the tradition of giving the SoS position to the runner-up.
Not sure how much foreign policy experience Romney brings to the table. As Hillarys tenure demonstrated, the state department is not the right place for amateur hour.
-
so I guess like with Kerry–this may be the job for people who lost their presidential race
remember when HRC was leaving and Susan Rice name was floated and you heard through out the media, etc the bemoaning when will a white male ever see that job againQuote from dergon

actually Kissinger gave her praise for updating the department–she put the sanctions in play that got Iran to the table which even Israel is saying Trump don’t touch that
I believe you may be commenting on Condi Rice tenure
but u missed the point–after HRC there were the multiple males/media in the press crying when will a white male ever fill that job..boohoo as SC Sanford said we don’t need a benetton commercialQuote from rayZor

M Romney- Sec State
Petraeus or Bolton-Sec Def
J Dimon or C Icahn-Sec Treasury
B Carson-Sec Edu
Mike Lee or Ted Cruz- SCOTU replacement for justice Scalia
Guiliani or Cruz- AG for US
Rumor is that Justice Kennedy will be retiring next year +2
Souter and Ginsburg are in their 80’s +3 and +4

RBG does not want to retire. She was already fighting off calls for retirement in the event of a Clinton win. She is absolutely not going to retire under Trump unless forced by medical. (Breyer might want to call it quits, but I don’t think he’ll retire unless forced by health either).
But, Kennedy is a real possibility as is Thomas. Their replacements could cement 5 conservatives for 30+ years. -

But you know what will happen. The moment the seats become available, every republican senator starts to cream himself and they start fighting on which brand of conservative the president has to nominate. The confirmation will drag out just long enough for one senator to die and another one to become ‘independent’ because his ‘conscience made him do it’. Between the democrats abolishing the filibuster and the republicans sabotaging the Garland nomination, I don’t see anyone above assistant postmaster getting confirmed for years to come. -

And Jamie Dimon I believe is in the Guinness book of world records for running up the most government fines in history.

Don’t worry about confirmation: aside from SCOTUS nominations the filibuster is dead. It remains for SCOTUS and legislation but the GOP has clearly demonstrated they are immune from facts and will likely kill it once and for all.
And despite me hating everything about their agenda that would be a good thing. About time duly elected governments implement their agenda. Let the voters judge them rather than continue to deal with manufactured delays and political constipation!

It would be fun to have Bolton and Romney constantly fighting with pro-Russians like Trump and Flynn.
If Romney actually took the position it would certainly show he has no shred of dignity -

OMG! There are gay people everywhere! I just don’t know any of them!
So thinks Mike Pence. Obviously doesn’t get out much keeping his head in the sand. I’m sure he also has absolutely no gay relatives as his genes are perfect – as God intended.
Indiana Governor Mike Pence is stunned and amazed that so many people appear to have gay friends, Pence has confirmed.
Speaking to reporters in his office in Indianapolis, Pence said that he made the astonishing discovery about gay friends late last week.
A lot of everyday people have gay friends, and theyre not afraid to call and/or e-mail you to tell you that, Pence said. To be honest, Im still trying to process it all.
Pence said that from what he has been able to gather thus far, the phenomenon of ordinary folks having gay friends has been going on for years.
You could be walking down the street, and without you knowing it, this person is friends with gays and that person is, too, he said. It really seems to be pretty widespread.
Its the darnedest thing, he added.
While Pence acknowledged that he has no gay friends personally, the growing popularity of being friends with gays has made him question whether he has been missing the boat on this.
Peter Navarro Trashes Trumps Chiefs and Cabinet of Clowns
Navarro, who was indicted for [link=https://www.thedailybeast.com/justice-department-charges-donald-trump-loyalist-peter-navarro-with-contempt-for-ghosting-capitol-riot-panel]refusing to cooperate[/link] with the congressional investigation into the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, has never been shy when it comes to taking swipes, both within Trumpworld and at those aligned against the former president. Since leaving the White House, Navarro has found a MAGA perch alongside Steve Bannon, frequently appearing on Bannons War Room podcast to call out the dreaded RINOs and Trumpworld grifters.
…
Navarro said Hahn, Redfield, and Collins would each throw POTUS under the bus even faster than Azaras would other key officials like the insufferably pompous [former assistant secretary for Health] Brett Giroir and of course, the king of stepping on White House messaging, Saint Fauci, referring to National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Anthony Fauci.
…
Navarro then claimswithout a shred of self-reflectionthat the problem with Mulvaney from a media messaging standpoint was that God blessed this smug Mick with an overabundance of both arrogance and hubris.
