If you like golf theres some good stuff up in Nova Scotia.
I also enjoyed Bozeman Montana. Mostly because my cousin moved there but good outdoors activities and just a nice place.

I am interested in less visited locations
Before getting to your “less visited” I’ll got with my favorites.
International Cities: Paris, Berlin, Munich, Nice, Rome, London, Edinburgh and all places that I return to and always enjoy.
Islands: Love St. Barth, love St. Martin
Less visited:
British Virgin Islands -Best done by sail charter.
Spanish Virgin Islands and Vieques – also best under sail.
Martinique – French caribbean but b/c it is part of France has much better infrastructure than most islands.
Belize jungle – Did a 5-star resort deep in the interior to go caving and eco-touring …. was great.
Also like Quebec city for a cute getaway … like going to Europe without having to do a TATL flight.
____
High on the list to do very soon: Greek Islands (sail), Croatia (Sail), Istanbul, Japan
Those are my tops. (I live a life that mostly only gets me a week at a time … hence the lack of Asian/ SA / Oceania destinations)

Japan is an interesting choice. The cities as I understand are very busy. Like people crammed liked sardines into subway cars. However, you can go skiing, see temples, and all kinds of interesting things outside the city. Plus Fukushima. I’m not sure I’d go.

Czech republic Prague, rural poland, Warsaw, Croatia.
Spain, Portugal.

Thanks for the response so far. I have been to Japan. Tokyo Kyoto Nara and takayama. Wonderful trip, love Japan. However I noticed some anti western sentiment.
I think I might hit some big European cities, but Im interested in some destinations with antiquities off the beaten track. But Im realizing that entails major travel time.-
Going to Bowling Green Florida via a stop at Hunter’s Green in Tampa. Playing at Streamsong resort. Looks like a great place.

It’s a golf resort. There’s something like 16,000 acres an hour outside of Tampa. I think all 3 of the courses there are in the top#20 of the “courses you can play”. Kind of want to hit up either the sporting clays and hook a couple bass too.

One great feeling. The TSA line is long and you walk in the premier access right to the front of the line.

I got “Clear” this year … nice 🙂
Between Clear, Global Entry and airline status, travel is fairly pleasant
-
The problem is I don’t fly enough to probably want to pay the $200 or so for Clear. I was thinking of getting the TSA pre-check though. It’s almost like airport anxiety. Like you show up, is the line long, are you there early enough.
If you do travel a lot I’m sure it’s well worth it.
Currently sitting at C27 in Dulles. Pilot really slammed her into the run way landing. -

….
Not sure what pricing is now, but back when I was considering TSA precheck, the cost was $85 for TSA precheck and $100 for Global Entry (which includes TSA precheck), so I opted for Global Entry. Global Entry good for multiple years so cost isn’t (or at least wasn’t) onerous.
Since I live in Bofunk Heights (the *better* side of Bofunk), tiny Bofunk National Airport close to home never has a huge line at the TSA checkpoint, but it’s nice to have when doing the return flight from a bigger airport; ditto GE when coming back internationally.
Hadn’t heard of CLEAR before but every time I encounter the friendly TSA agent and hand over my ID and flash my boarding pass, I wonder why that part of the process hasn’t been automated. $189/year seems kinda steep but as mentioned, if you travel a lot, probably worth it. For me, not an issue at Bofunk National Airport.

I don’t believe you need to show a boarding pass until at the gate and getting on the plane. Usually just hand over my new improved driver’s license. You could also hand them a passport. The only thing I notice is they scan the license in and I did have the person look at me to see if I looked like the guy on the license. You could probably replace with face recognition. That feels very China police state to me.
That appears to be the thing with clear
“Our Ambassadors will help you get set up at a CLEAR pod by adding your eyes or fingerprint to your secure profile, so we can safely verify its you each time you fly.” -
Cities: Istanbul: Rome: Most in Andalucia (Grenada, Seville, Cordoba), generally Spanish cities are lovely. Intercity trains are fast and cheap in Europe.
I really liked Bordeaux and Lyon in France.
Golf: Southwest Ireland. Tralee, Ballybunion, Waterville and my favourite Dooks are hard to beat. Watch the surfers as you tee off on the 4th(the Klondyke) in Lahinch. Views of Dingle bay and the Mcgillicuddy Reeks compensate for losing balls in dunes. It is a 5 hour hop from Boston/New York to Shannon. No danger of heatstroke -
Anyone do any solo travelling? Guided Travel or something like that?
-
I haven’t done any solo in years. (I used to do an occasional solo mileage run when I needed an extra flight at the end of the year to make my elite status … but that’s a think of the past.)

Separate travel note today: It’s my first ever flight on Spirit coming up in a few hours. Wish me luck. -
As of last week I’m now between dogs so it seemed like a good time to get a trip in. I had generically googled it and it turned up like a starts at $6500 for 15 days. I was thinking about joining that scottsflights site where it shows cheap flights.

Of my favorite solo locations . London
East town to get around, English fluency if you want to chat with folks at a pub, more accessible tourism than you can shake a stick at
-
That makes sense. Lot’s of palaces, churches, clocks, the Thames, and architecture. I’d almost rather see the country side. London seems like it can be congested.

Im in OHare now on the way back. If anyone out there golfs Streamsong is awesome. Its a really unique property. It was built on a old phosphorus mine. Cool courses and views for as far as they eye can see. Good sevice and food too but plan on staying on property. Its really a gem in the middle of nowhere Florida. Hot as a F though. 90 and 100% humidity can beat you up.
