Third Party Service Contracts
We’re looking to reduce our services costs and would like to know if any of you have experience with third party service contracts for MR equipment. We’re in the Mid-Atlantic area and looking for options so any recommendations you can make would be appreciated.

We went to 3rd party after our initial contracts ran out. Although the guys are nice, they do not know the systems like the original vendor!! And if they need to do something really in depth, they do not have access, because GE, or Siemens, or whoever, has a lock on it.

Independent service vendor here. It depends on the equipment and the service provider. There are plenty of OEM providers who do a poor job of supporting their machines and also plenty of shoddy independent operators. For the stuff we work on, in some cases we do a far better job than the OEM and in other cases not so much. Sometimes we have MORE parts and experience. So it depends.
