    [b]Special Counsel Subpoenas Brad Raffensperger[/b][/h1]

Special counsel Jack Smith has sent a grand jury subpoena to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, bringing to five the number of 2020 battleground states where state or local election officials are known to have received such requests for any and all communications with Trump, his campaign, and a long list of aides and allies, the [link=https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2022/12/12/special-counsel-sends-trump-subpoena-ga-secretary-state-raffensperger/]Washington Post[/link] reports.

State and local officials in Arizona, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin have received similar subpoenas all of them, like Georgia, central to President Donald Trumps failed plan to stay in power after the 2020 election.

[b]House Panel Asks Archives to Search Trump Storage Unit[/b][/h1]
The House Oversight Committee sent a letter to the National Archives on Tuesday requesting a review to determine whether former president Donald Trump has retained any additional presidential records at his storage facility in Florida, the [link=https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2022/12/13/trump-storage-unit-house-committee/]Washington Post[/link] reports.

Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-NY) says the storage facility and other properties may contain presidential records that were not the focus of the search and therefore have not been turned over to the federal government.

[h2]Judge unseals new details of contacts among Rep. Perry, Trump-connected attorneys[/h2]
The document addressed communications among the Pennsylvania Republican, former Justice Department official Jeffrey Clark, his aide Ken Klukowski and conservative lawyer John Eastman.

A federal judge [link=https://www.dcd.uscourts.gov/sites/dcd/files/ECF%20No.%2032_Order%2022gj28.pdf]revealed Friday[/link] that earlier this year she granted Justice Department investigators access to emails between three Trump-connected attorneys and Rep. Scott Perry as part of the federal investigation into election subversion efforts by the former president and others.

At the request of DOJ, U.S. District Court Chief Judge Beryl Howell unsealed a June opinion in which she determined that 37 emails sent among Trump-era Justice Department official Jeffrey Clark, his aide Ken Klukowski and conservative attorney John Eastman and Perry (R-Pa.) another top Donald Trump ally who chairs the House Freedom Caucus were not protected by attorney-client privilege.

Howell also unsealed a second opinion, issued in September, in which she determined that 331 documents from Clark whom Trump nearly installed as acting attorney general as part of his bid to seize a second term were similarly not protected by attorney-client privilege.

She has always been one of Donald Trumps most all-knowing and loyal confidantes. But the Jan. 6 committee got former top White House advisor Hope Hicks on record incriminating the former president.

More is likely to come out about that as early as Wednesday, when the committee is expected to release its long-awaited final report into Trumps alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 election and foment an assault on the Capitol based on false claims of voter fraud. And it will begin making public the transcripts of its interviews with as many as 1,000 witnesses including Hicks done over the course of its exhaustive 18-month probe.

But based on what the committee has revealed already, what Hicks said about Trump is likely to be damning, and potentially devastating to him, both in the court of public opinion and a court of law should he ever be prosecuted, according to former prosecutors and legal experts.

The final straw for former Trump White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson with her first attorney, paid through allies of former President Donald Trump, came when he told her to stop cooperating with the January 6 select House committee even if risked a contempt of Congress charge, CNN reports.

Hutchinson testified she told her mother: Im fucked.

She continued: I am completely indebted to these people. And they will ruin my life, Mom, if I do anything they dont want me to do.

A Trump aide had previously copied those same pages onto a thumb drive and laptop, not realizing they were classified, sources said. The laptop, which belonged to an aide, who works for Save America PAC, and the thumb drive were also given to investigators in January.

Donald Trump attorney [link=https://www.cnn.com/2022/08/31/politics/christina-bobb-evan-corcoran/index.html]Evan Corcoran [/link]appeared last month to testify before a federal grand jury in Washington, DC, thats looking at the former presidents [link=http://www.cnn.com/2023/02/10/politics/trump-classified-records-laptop/index.html]handling of national security records[/link] at his Mar-a-Lago residence, a source confirmed to CNN.

He was there for roughly four hours.

Prosecutors asked Corcoran about what had occurred up until the August 8, 2022, search of Mar-a-Lago, which came after investigators found evidence that made them believe classified records kept at the Florida resort were moved and concealed including questions about his interactions with Trump, another person familiar with the situation said.

Investigators seek to question attorney about phone call with Trump in classified docs probe:

      Sources
Special counsel Jack Smith wants to force Trump lawyer Evan Corcoran to testify.

Smith in recent weeks has pressed for a federal judge in Washington, D.C., to pierce attorney-client privilege and force Trump attorney Evan Corcoran to testify, according to those sources, about a June 24, 2022, phone call that investigators believe Corcoran held with Trump.

The alleged call would have been on the same day that investigators subpoenaed the Trump Organization for surveillance footage from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort as the government grew suspicious that Trump continued to hold onto classified materials even after one of his attorneys asserted in a sworn statement that he had complied with a subpoena requesting any remaining documents in his possession.

Investigators have also sought to compel the testimony of another attorney for the former president, Jennifer Little, who has also sought to assert attorney-client privilege, as part of the investigation into the Mar-a-Lago documents, sources tell ABC News. Little has been representing Trump in the Fulton County, Georgia, probe into efforts by Trump and his allies to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election in that state. She did not immediately respond to ABC News’ request for comment.

Just like New York, the Racist District Attorney in Atlanta, who presides over one of the most deadly and violent jurisdictions in the U.S. (and does nothing about it!), is having an impossible time showing that my PERFECT phone call was bad, when none of the many lawyers on the call interjected that I was saying something wrong or improper – Not even a word of admonishment. They never hung up or said how dare you. Thats because, as everyone knows, there was nothing wrong with the call!

Could somebody please explain to Biden that MAGA means Make America Great Again. Believe it or not, he doesnt know that. He also doesnt understand that we are now, A Failing Nation, a Nation in Decline. All of this was self imposed by people who dont have a clue. We are losing our CURRENCY STANDARD, and will end up in World War lll with these vicious, but very stupid, people in charge. They are only good at DISINFORMATION & Cheating in Elections!

[link=https://www.newsweek.com/ex-trump-white-house-lawyer-predicts-bad-news-former-president-1801552]Former White House Lawyer Ty Cobb Predicts Trump will go to Prison[/link]

Former White House lawyer Ty Cobb believes the “feds are coming fast” for [link=https://www.newsweek.com/topic/donald-trump]Donald Trump[/link], predicting that the investigation into the former president’s alleged mishandling of classified documents will land him in prison.

I think this obstruction case is a tight case, and I think hell go to jail. I think the case will be broadened to include the espionage act.

“I would not necessarily expand the case to try to prove the Espionage Act piece of it because there is so much evidence of guilty knowledge on the espionage piece that all they really have to do is show that Trump moved these documents at various times when DOJ was either demanding them or actually present, that he filed falsely with the Justice Department, had his lawyers file falsely with the Justice Department, an affidavit to the effect that none existedwhich was shattered by the documents that they then discovered after the searchand the many other misrepresentations that he and others have made on his behalf with regard to his possession of classified documents.”

It’s a “tight case” and Trump “will go to jail” because of it, Cobb said, adding that he believes it is ready for prosecution and requires no broader scope because Trump is continually “lying” about the law.

Judge overseeing the Fulton County special grand jury has rejected Donald Trump’s bid to quash the special grand jury’s report, to disqualify DA Fani Willis and prevent further prosecution.

Put differently, the District Attorney’s Office has been doing fairly routine and legally unobjectionable – job of public relations in case that is anything but routine. None of what movants cite rises to the level of justifying disqualification and all of it, collectively,.falls far short ofwhat prompted the District Attorney’s disqualification from the investigation into Lieutenant Governor Jones. The prosecutor is not neutral party and does not need to pretend to be: she has cause she has sworn to pursue, and in that pursuit ofjustice, she “is necessarily partisan in the case. If [s]he were compelled to proceed with the same circumSpection as the judge andjury, there would be an end to the conviction of criminals.” State v. Sutherland, 190 Ga. App. 606, 607 (1989) (citation omitted). ‘For these reasons, Trump and Latham’s motions to disqualify the District Attorney are DENIED.

[h1]Inside Trumps Plan to Scapegoat His Lawyers[/h1]
Donald Trumps attorneys are preparing a legal plan to shovel blame onto the lawyers who aided his attempt to overturn the 2020 election, [link=https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-features/donald-trump-jan6-jack-smith-rudy-giuliani-john-eastman-1234798826/]Rolling Stone[/link] reports.

Trump is on the cusp of being indicted over Jan. 6 and its surrounding events, and if the case goes to trial, his current legal team is preparing an advice of counsel argument, attempting to pull blame away from the former president for any possible illegal activity. Plans for such a defense have been percolating since last year.

Several lawyers in Trumps ever-shifting legal orbit spent time both this and last year quietly studying past high-profile cases involving this particular line of defense. The attorneys tried to game out how such an argument would fare in front of a judge or a jury.

      …Herschmann’s advice was sound –

    [link=https://www.politico.com/news/2022/12/28/jan-6-committee-trump-rally-00075696]Politico[/link]

[h2]Judge: Jan. 6 committee evidence suggests Trump asked rally crowd to break the law[/h2] The federal ruling is the first to reckon with the select committees final report and criminal referrals.

Bates, an appointee of President George W. Bush, ruled that defendant Alexander Sheppard should be prohibited from making the public authority defense because theres simply no evidence Trump told his followers that entering the restricted grounds of the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, was legal. In fact, his incendiary rhetoric especially telling his supporters to fight like hell may suggest Trump was asking them to break the law, Bates said.

His words could signal to protesters that entering the Capitol and stopping the certification would be unlawful, Bates found.

{T}he committees finding, Bates ruled, does not suggest that Trump told his followers that entering the Capitol would be legal. In fact, Trumps incendiary rhetoric might have done just the opposite.
Thus, the conclusions reached here that even if protesters believed they were following orders, they were not misled about the legality of their actions is consistent with the Select Committees findings, Bates wrote.

[b]Judge Orders Trump to Provide Names of Investigators[/b][/h1]

A federal judge has ordered lawyers for former President Donald Trump to give the government the names of the private investigators who searched Mr. Trumps properties late last year for any remaining classified documents, part of what appeared to be a step by the Justice Department toward questioning the investigators about their efforts, the [link=https://www.nytimes.com/2023/01/05/us/politics/judge-trump-documents-justice-department.html]New York Times[/link] reports.

The fact that the Justice Department sought a formal order for the investigators names suggests an increasing breakdown in trust between prosecutors investigating the documents case and Mr. Trumps legal team.

[b]Michigan Reopens Case Against Fake Electors[/b][/h1]
The Michigan attorney general said Friday theres clear evidence to pursue charges against pro-Donald Trump Republicans who claimed they were the states presidential electors in 2020, despite Democrat Joe Bidens 154,000-vote victory, the [link=https://apnews.com/article/2022-midterm-elections-biden-politics-2020-united-states-presidential-election-donald-trump-e37490ff0e21d20b4d4020be5107d255]AP[/link] reports.

Dana Nessel referred the matter to federal prosecutors last year, but no public action has been taken. A year later, she said its time for state authorities to step in.

[link=https://www.freep.com/story/news/politics/2023/01/06/nessel-gop-fake-electors-investigation/69785142007/]Detroit Free Press[/link]: The fact Nessel announced her decision on the two-year anniversary of the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol is not an accident. Shes repeatedly argued the effort of the so-called fake electors in late 2020 was part of a much broader scheme to overturn President Joe Bidens lawful victory.

Regarding Mar-a-lago and classified documents, regardless of Bidens carelessness vs Trumps deliberate taking (MINE! Wanna see the letter from Little Rocket Man to me? They are declassified because I thought that!), this probably puts the kabosh on any prosecution of Trump over taking & hiding classified materials.
