CNN
Faulty redactions in court document show federal investigators seized more info in case against Rudy Giuliani than previously disclosed

Quote:
New York federal prosecutors investigating Rudy Giuliani have seized material from a wider array of individuals than previously disclosed, including messages from email and iCloud accounts they believe belong to two former Ukrainian government officials, as well as the cell phone and iPad of a pro-Trump Ukrainian businessman, according to a court document unsealed Tuesday.

The court filing, which contained redacted portions that CNN was able to read by copying and pasting them into another document, also disclosed that federal prosecutors have “historical and prospective cell site information” related to Giuliani and another lawyer, Victoria Toensing, both of whom were the subjects of search warrants executed late last month.

The Ukrainians include the former Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko, the former head of the Ukrainian Fiscal Service Roman Nasirov and businessman Alexander Levin.

From the link:
“The filing, written by an attorney for an indicted former Giuliani ally Lev Parnas, describes a chart in which federal prosecutors described the scope of the materials they sought and seized beginning in late 2019 and continuing through earlier this year.”

           From Bloomberg:

“The names of the Ukrainians were redacted from a Tuesday filing by Joseph Bondy, a defense lawyer for Lev Parnas, a Giuliani associate… But the redaction was done in such a way that the names became visible when the text was copied and pasted…”

sounds like it was a screw up by the Parnas team
New Audio Reveals How Giuliani Pressured Ukraine
[link=https://www.cnn.com/2021/06/07/politics/rudy-giuliani-ukraine-call-investigate-biden/index.html]CNN[/link]
The new audio demonstrates how Giuliani aggressively cajoled the Ukrainians to do Trumps bidding. And it undermines Trumps oft-repeated assertion that there was no quid pro quo where Zelensky could secure US government support if he did political favors for Trump.

Over and over, Giuliani pressed for the investigations, according to the audio recording. Giuliani even said the US-Ukraine diplomatic relationship would improve if Zelensky launched the probes. Giuliani and Volker suggested during the call that a public announcement could clear the way for Zelensky’s much-desired visit to the US, or for [link=https://www.cnn.com/2019/08/21/politics/giuliani-ukraine-lawyer-meeting/index.html]in-person meetings [/link]with Giuliani.

“All we need from the President [Zelensky] is to say, I’m gonna put an honest prosecutor in charge, he’s gonna investigate and dig up the evidence, that presently exists and is there any other evidence about involvement of the 2016 election, and then the Biden thing has to be run out,” Giuliani said, according to the audio. “… Somebody in Ukraine’s gotta take that seriously.”

“That would clear the air really well.  And I think it would make it possible for me to come and make it possible, I think, for me to talk to the President (Trump) to see what I can do about making sure that whatever misunderstandings are put aside … I kinda think that this could be a good thing for having a much better relationship.”
Former federal judge Barbara Jones was formally appointed to ensure attorney-client privilege is protected in the examination of multiple electronic devices seized from Rudy Giuliani, the Associated Press reports.

Shes already familiar with the job, having done the same thing three years ago after FBI raids on Michael Cohen, another one of Trumps former personal attorneys.
Andrew Giuliani Works Through His Daddy Issues WhileRunning for Governor?
[link=https://nymag.com/intelligencer/2021/06/andrew-giuliani-new-york-governor.html]Olivia Nuzzi[/link]:

When Giuliani first expressed interest in the race, he was met with skepticism and curiosity, according to one Republican official. Everyone may know the name Giuliani, but its been 20 years since the end of his mayorship and a decade-plus since his failed presidential campaign, and few conservatives involved in state government have any connection or debt owed to Rudy. As for Andrew: Hes not someone whos ever been a part of the New York political fabric. Hes not a New York political player. He had no New York political relationships, the official said. And then theres his lack of overall experience in the workforce. Mock would be too strong a word, but people are ridiculing him.

In fact, Cuomo may be the only New Yorker who wants Giuliani in the race.

Hating on some clueless trust fund jack*ss for having the gall to suggest he should be making decisions for others on a scale larger than a bachelor party is an exercise that often transcends partisan ideology. When a son of privilege seeks political power, it often seems that entitlement offense rages brightly in the moments just before private acceptance or approval kicks in: Parts of the population are reminded on a psychic or genetic level that they yearn for monarchy, while other parts decide they like the comfort of continuity under the guise of a democracy. The other form of entitlement, maybe a bit less galling, is assuming a right to patience and attention, to the willingness of a public to serve as an audience before which to work out familial psychological trauma. When I sat down with Andrew, it was the eve of Mercury

Theres pain and daddy issues that exist beneath this, one longtime Rudy associate said. A second longtime Rudy associate was gentler: What Andrew is doing is less about Rudy than it is about what Andrew is doing to process Rudy. There is something uncomfortable about Giulianis campaign. If you watch him for long enough to ask what might compel a person to do a thing like this, you get the sense that the act of running is one of self-harm, of lashing himself in the void left by his father. Is he out to prove something to Rudy or to show him show us what being Rudys son has done to him? Does he subconsciously want to hurt Rudy? You cant tarnish a legacy thats already been shattered, then lit on fire, then burned to a heap of ash, then sprinkled into the swamp and dissolved into a toxic vapor. Or can you?
Rudy Giuliani Suspended from Practicing Law in New York:

For the reasons that follow, we conclude that there is uncontroverted evidence that respondent communicated demonstrably false and misleading statements to courts, lawmakers and the public at large in his capacity as lawyer for former President Donald J. Trump and the Trump campaign in connection with Trumps failed effort at reelection in 2020. These false statements were made to improperly bolster respondents narrative that due to widespread voter fraud, victory in the 2020 United States presidential election was stolen from his client. We conclude that respondents conduct immediately threatens the public interest and warrants interim suspension from the practice of law, pending further proceedings before the Attorney Grievance Committee (sometimes AGC or Committee).

Rudy Giuliani Says Hes More Than Willing To Go To Jail But Did Nothing Wrong in Amazing Interview with NBC New York

I committed no crime, and if you think I committed a crime, youre probably really stupid, because you dont know who I am, Giuliani told NBC. Is the guy who put the mafia in jail, terrorists in jail, Ed Kochs commissioners in jail, and the worst people on Wall Street Im not going to file (a form)? I mean, thats just crazy.

I am more than willing to go to jail if they want to put me in jail, he said at one point. And if they do, theyre going to suffer the consequences in heaven. Im not, I didnt do anything wrong.

Why are you willing to go to jail if you feel that youre innocent, Russo asked.

Because they lie, he responded. And they cheat.

[link=https://www.wsj.com/articles/rudy-giuliani-associate-igor-fruman-pleads-guilty-in-campaign-donation-scheme-11631288838] Fruman Sentencin[/link]g:

A former associate of Rudy Giuliani pleaded guilty to solicitation of a political contribution by a foreign national on Friday, nearly two years after he and his business partners emerged as key figures in the impeachment inquiry into former President Donald Trump. Igor Fruman came under national scrutiny in October 2019 when federal prosecutors charged him and others with conspiring to funnel foreign money into U.S. elections and influence American politics on behalf of a Ukrainian official.

-snip-

During a hearing in federal court in Manhattan on Friday, Mr. Fruman, a 56-year-old U.S. citizen born in Belarus, admitted to soliciting a foreign national to make contributions adding up to more than $25,000 in a year. Only American citizens can make political contributions in the U.S. “I deeply regret my actions and apologize to the court,” Mr. Fruman said.

The plea agreement entered into by Mr. Fruman and prosecutors included a sentence of more than three years in prison and a fine between $15,000 and $150,000. It didn’t include an agreement to cooperate with the government. District Judge J. Paul Oetken scheduled his sentencing for Jan. 21.

Court filings unsealed on Tuesday suggest that the investigation of  Rudy Giuliani  by federal authorities is more expansive than previously known.

Though prior reporting [link=https://lawandcrime.com/high-profile/feds-executed-a-search-warrant-on-rudy-giulianis-apartment-report/]indicated[/link] that prosecutors had been scrutinizing the ex-New York City mayors dealings in Ukraine, a memo from his attorney Robert Costello suggests that investigators are also looking into a trip Giuliani took to Poland two years ago.

The investigation being conducted by the Government is alleged by them, to be in search of a possible [Foreign Agents Registration Act] violation involving Ukrainian individuals, Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch and the office of the U.S. Ambassador to the Ukraine; a trip by Giuliani to Poland in 2019 and issues involving Franklin Templeton and funds misappropriated from the [sic] Ukraine, the memo states.

What Giulianis legal team characterizes as the third prong of the investigations contains scant context, but Giuliani has pushed a conspiracy theory about the U.S. investment firm mentioned in service of Trumps defense against his first impeachment.

The theorywhich [link=https://talkingpointsmemo.com/muckraker/giuliani-has-a-new-conspiracy-theory-to-mainline-into-gop-bloodstream]ropes in[/link] former President Barack Obama and then-House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.)goes that former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych laundered $7.5 billion in a conspiracy involving Franklin Templeton, which purchased that much in Ukrainian bonds more than a decade ago, according to [link=https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/trump-impeachment-inquiry/inside-giuliani-s-new-push-flip-script-trump-s-impeachment-n1106321]NBC[/link].

Lutsenko also peddled that theory, the network noted.

[link=https://thehill.com/homenews/media/587237-two-georgia-election-workers-sue-oan-giuliani-over-election-fraud-claims]Two Georgia election workers sue OAN, Giuliani over election fraud claims

[/link]

Moss and Freeman are alleging that OAN aired false stories claiming that the two election workers were plotting to count illicit ballots in an effort to tip the race towards then-candidate [link=https://thehill.com/people/joe-biden]Joe Biden[/link], according to Reuters. Those claims, however, have been proven false by Georgias election officials.

The lawsuit focuses on a claim first touted by a volunteer Trump campaign attorney last December, according to Reuters. Supporters of the president cited a surveillance video from a Fulton County ballot counting center, where Moss and Freeman worked, in which they said the two workers were processing suitcases of illicit ballots that were marked for Biden after most individuals had left the premises.

The suit says that Giuliani amplified the video by posting about it on social media, and accuses OAN, its hosts, and its staff of publishing Giulianis claims to millions of its viewers and readers.

Giuliani in Talks to Testify to House Select Committee
Rudy Giuliani, who as former President Donald Trumps lawyer helped lead the effort to overturn the results of the 2020 election, is in discussions with the House Jan. 6 committee about responding to its questions, the [link=https://www.nytimes.com/2022/02/12/us/politics/rudolph-giuliani-january-6-committee.html]New York Times[/link] reports.

The extent of any assistance that Mr. Giuliani might provide remains unclear and the negotiations could easily fall apart, especially as Mr. Trump continues to publicly rail against the investigation.

Rudy Giuliani is expected to cooperate with the House select committee investigating January 6, and potentially reveal his contacts with Republican members of Congress involved in the former presidents effort to overturn the results of the 2020 election.

The move by Giuliani to appear before the panel in a cooperation deal that could be agreed within weeks, according to two sources briefed on negotiations could mark a breakthrough moment for the inquiry as it seeks to interview key members of Trumps inner circle.
