Im only started lifting during the pandemic, back around February last year. I hit some plateaus a few months back but my overhead press has been coming along, strangely, pressing 170 x 3 x 3.

    Bench 250 x 3rep x 2, Squat 350 x 5, Row 183 x 5. Havent deadlifted since I injured my lower back.

    Mid 40s, 61, weigh 228.

What are my radiologist colleagues lifting these days?

Impressive lifting for so such a short time.  Gyms just reopened here, but up to around 315 squat, 245 bench, 405 deadlift.  6ft 200.

    Are you an MSK radiologist?

Nice! I would love to deadlift again. after two consecutive injuries, I have been convinced by trainer to do trap bar deadlifts going forward, so just starting with that.

I am an MSK reader for my group but after 10 years of a generalist practice, I am Jack of all , master of none. Actually, Im master of writing emails and getting other radiologists to take one for the team.

Deadlifts are not worth the risk imo. Even the people with the most perfect form will get injured. It’s better to stick with other back exercises. Squats are enough work for the legs anyway. Way less risk involved.
