Mitch in Kentucky is toast imho
Posted by odayjassim1978_476 on October 13, 2014 at 9:08 pmIMHO lost the debate: major gaffe: I didn’t EARN my millions/ I inherited
also what I got was yes I will keep the health website active but Throw you hands if the air if I will keep the funds flowing..like look at Texas..a website that’s active won’t help to fight ebola/the flu/cancer/MS,etckayla.meyer_144 replied 3 years, 4 months ago 13 Members · 46 Replies -

also HRC people are saying they are going to pitch her as a Noah’s Ark: a vessel voters can thrust their concerns, aspirations, frustrations on…someone is listening to me
-
I don’t know. I think if Grimes wins it will be a major upset.
But it is possible. McConnell sounded flubbery talking about Obamacare. It shows how the “repeal and replace” just isn’t flying as a simple mantra anymore.
He wants to “keep the website” ( He couldn’t utter the word “subsidy” or “medicaid expanson” I presume).
Still, at the end of the day, Obama is deeply unpopular in Kentucky and Grimes has to find a way to cut that chain to win.-
Grimes is running as a Republican…she is toast. There will be limited Dem enthusiasm and she won’t peel off any McConnell voters
-
Grimes has the anything but Mitch vote solid..who cares if she voted for Obama/ who cares if she didn’t at this point(Kentucky white female???): everyone in their collective being is like Mitch has to go/ we need more than active website..here is the door pops
-
Grimes has said she is a Clinton democrate…ok like I said a white female from Kentucky(I would be very surprised if she did vote for Obama)
prediction: if the senate is taken and HRC wins the presidency, there will be a vote diven by GOP to impeach her within the first 3 yearsQuote from Thor

Chuck Todd being a weasel…gave Mitch a quote..does Chuck have a college diploma/ political hack imho
-
McConnell wins it easily.
NBC called it for McConnell immediately as the polls closed. Currently 56/41%-
Watched enough races in the South to be surprised by this; Grimes never made herself an attractive opponent
-
That didn’t take long.
It’s that echo chamber thing again.-
Mitch is currently being more gracious toward Grimes in his victory speech than she was in her pseudo-concession.

Nooo, it was all the chilling effect of voter ID laws that kept the felon and illegal constituency of the dems at home 😉

It’s a new day for America. While I don’t perceive the results as an overwhelming mandate, just as I didn’t see Mr. Obama’s 52% win or so as any particular mandate, we are seeing the slow but sure rejection of the Liberal (delusional) approach to governance. We have a VERY long way to go.
-
I think it would be a mistake to interpret the results of This election has a shift in the preferences of the American electorate.
This is a classic second term midterm election.
For example,Minimum wage increases passed in every state that they were on the ballot, even states that went very red.
This was an election that the Republicans very effectively nationalized to the referendum on Barack Obama.
But the victory is unlikely to represent a significant long-term rightward shift in American attitudes.
The demographic challenges against the GOP have not changed.three publican party does now though have the opportunity to show that itcan effectively help to govern. If it does that, it’s 2016 are significantly improved.
-
I think the GOP will clown and squander the wave with stupid stiuff..MD gov was weak(bad aca rollout/ a hospital in ???pg that was failing
coakley seems to not know how to actively canpaign -

Which PAC supergroup are you referring to? The docs best friends -the lawyers PACS -the second largest contributors of all PACS with 99% to tort reform blocking libs? Or muncipal unionists protecting janitors and meter maids California-style 100k retirement benefit by spending 100 million + just going after to Gov of Wisconsin?

National Review is warning Republicans that “governing” is a trap.

new day with that relic still in power in Kentucky and Roberts says yes I do live in Kansas/no place like home but Scotty Brown got ribbing on what his new zip code would be and like most arrogant white males of that party he told Alex wong that was a silly question…maybe the hog castrator should have asked him the question

I see it more as the final throes, but it’s academic; we’ll know soon enough, like in 2 years.

Mitch is toast is easily as a bad a prediction as my gold is going to 3k, an investment which, by the way, has not gone down since I recommended it.

wanted to put the relic out but what do u expect for Kentucky //wonder what will happen with Kentucky connect

Heh.
Well……not to pile on but …. It was actually “going to 3500” and it was at $1,600 ish when you posted (late March 2013) so… if you count dropping by only 25% as “not gone down at all” then .. yeah.
But point taken …. both posts were equally bad predictions. -
McConnell Prepares His Exit
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell has compiled a short list of successors in his home state of Kentucky, preparing for the possibility that he does not serve out his full term, Kentucky Republicans tell [link=https://theintercept.com/2021/03/04/kentucky-mitch-mcconnell-senator-replace/]The Intercept[/link].
The list is topped by his protégé, state Attorney General Daniel Cameron, and also includes former United Nations Ambassador Kelly Craft, whose billionaire coal magnate husband is a major McConnell donor, as well as Kentucky Secretary of State Michael Adams, a former McConnell Scholar.
Under current law, the power to appoint McConnells replacement falls to Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear. But new legislation McConnell is pushing in the Kentucky General Assembly would strip the governor of that power and put it into the hands of the state GOP.

McConnell is a loser. Ha, new legislation. What a moron.
Trump Calls for McConnell to Be Replaced
Former President Trump said that Republicans need stronger and better leadership than Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, [link=https://thehill.com/homenews/state-watch/544281-trump-republicans-need-stronger-and-better-leadership-than-mcconnell]The Hill[/link] reports.
Said Trump: I mean, he cant rein in his own people. We have the Mitt Romneys of the world and, you know, the Ben Sasses of the world. These are not good for the Republican Party.
-
How does Mitch reign in Mitt? It aint like Mitt is the new guy in town.

Trump and His Allies Target McConnell
[link=https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/mcconnell-trump-debt-limit-republicans/2021/10/07/00f07f4e-2777-11ec-8831-a31e7b3de188_story.html]Washington Post[/link]: The attacks reflect McConnells contradictory, difficult role in the Republican Party. He is its top elected leader, running its Senate wing and leading the charge against the Democratic agenda. Yet he is openly reviled by the former Republican president, who is also the partys most influential figure, with millions of followers, and its potential 2024 presidential nominee.
The renewed barrage by Trump and his allies is part of a bid by the former president to turn Republicans against the senator from Kentucky and oust him as the partys leader in the Senate. And it marks the latest effort by Trump to retaliate against his critics, since McConnell said after the violent Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol that Trump was practically and morally responsible. -
Trump called for new leadership, no McConnel, yesterday. This was because he thought they did something bad with the debt ceiling. SO I guess the Trump platform would be I’m great for the stock market until I tank it for the debt ceiling.
-
To believe that line of thought one would have to still believe the Dems would allow us to default on the national debt just to try and hang the disaster on the Republicans. A courageous and trustworthy Democratic Party would solve the problem now without Republican support. Same with the filibuster.
-
The Democrats will save us because they are the responsible party? But the Republicans deserve no blame for brinkmanship leading to default because the Democrats will stop any disaster from happening, because they are the adults in the room.
Now there is some twisted logic. -

That’s an interesting observation, Lux. Are you saying the Democrats are in the final throes of their control, that their ideas don’t work, or just that the electorate is in the process of rejecting the Democrats’ way of doing things?

kind pathetic when u see such low voter turn out

Interesting that 180 degrees from his position the past 6 years, Mitch is sounding very responsible & agreeable, talking about working “with” Obama to get legislation done. But what makes him think he can handle the fire breathers better than Boehner & what makes him think he can spin 180 degrees on a dime?
We’ll see. I’m not optimistic about Mitch’s Kumbaya moment. Some new Congresswoman might show him her skills in castrating hogs.
