Looking to move back to the Midwest where elderly parents have retired. Iowa. Jobs available. I know pay is good (I think) but so is pay in AK (worked there) and many other sites I’ve worked. Is it that bad? Lived in Madison for some training and that was pretty nice.

I have 3 friends in practice out there. Minimal PE creep from what I’ve heard. Good payer mix.

I know of a practice there that pays very well, and as mentioned above, basically little/no threat of PE takeover. I think there are expectations to be somewhat more of a generalist, but I assume that expectation varies with each group. Good luck!

I thought there was a RP Iowa practice that was always advertising? But yeah minimal Corp intrusion in such locations.

Seems a little far fetched if spouse doesnt work and your family has a nanny and private school?

I would think either spouse doesnt work or spouse works with pretty good income given the generally high salaries in the area.
