Murder and Extremism in the United States in 2022[/h1]
Key Highlights:
[ul][*][b]All the extremist-related murders in 2022 were committed by right-wing extremists[/b] of various kinds, who typically commit most such killings each year but only occasionally are responsible for all (the last time this occurred was 2012). Left-wing extremists engage in violence ranging from assaults to fire-bombings and arsons, but since the late 1980s have not often targeted people with deadly violence. The same cannot be said for domestic Islamist extremists, but deadly incidents linked to Islamist extremism have decreased significantly in the U.S. over the past five years. [*][b]White supremacists commit the greatest number of domestic extremist-related murders in most years, but in 2022 the percentage was unusually high: 21 of the 25 murders were linked to white supremacists. [/b]Again, this is primarily due to mass shootings. Only one of the murders was committed by a right-wing anti-government extremistthe lowest number since 2017. [/ul]

In 2021 Jeremy David Hanson used the dictionarys contact us feature on its website to say that he was going to shoot up and bomb your offices and called them Marxists, in addition to other threatening comments, officials said.
Hanson, 34, made the comments over the dictionarys definition of female, and called them Marxists who should be killed.
Hanson threatened [a] university president in a March 2022 email after students there protested against a political candidate who wanted to outlaw medical procedures for transgender children, according to court documents. I will personally go to your university and start executing tyrannical leftist students and faculty who oppress conservatives. The only good Democrat is a dead Democrat, he wrote in that case.
As part of a plea deal Hanson admitted to making threats to others, including Walt Disney Co., professors at Loyola Marymount University, and toy company Hasbro, among others, officials said.
Hanson was sentenced to one year and one day in prison, the U.S. Attorneys Office for the District of Massachusetts said in a statement Friday.

Per the complaint, Little’s mother told investigators he “extensively harassed a Muslim female” in the past and “has had a fascination with fire from a young age.” She said she suspected him in “several unreported arson events.”

Idaho judge sentences 5 members of white nationalist group to jail for conspiracy to riot at Pride event:[/b]A Kootenai County jury on Thursday found them guilty of the riot charge after about an hour of deliberation. The men were accused of planning to riot at the Coeur dAlene LGBTQ+ Pride event in 2022.
A total of 31 Patriot Front members, including one identified as its founder, were arrested June 11, 2022, after someone reported seeing people loading into a U-Haul van like a little army at a hotel parking lot in Coeur dAlene, police have said.
Police found riot gear, a smoke grenade, shin guards and shields in the van after pulling it over near where the North Idaho Pride Alliance was holding a Pride in the Park event, Coeur dAlene Police Chief Lee White has said.
The groups documents reportedly outlined a plan to form a column outside City Park and proceed inward, until barriers to approach are met. Once an appropriate amount of confrontational dynamic had been established, the column would disengage and head down Sherman Avenue.

Eric Molitor and brothers William Null and Michael Null were among 14 men, described by prosecutors as anti-government extremists, charged in the scheme weeks before the November 2020 election. They were angered by Whitmers COVID-19 policies, which shut down schools and restricted the economy.
The plotters were members of paramilitary groups and spoke of attacking the state Capitol and police to ignite civil war.
