Ha! Well, as the article says, these ingenious saviors will have no trouble finding support and (likely free and excellent) legal representation.

CS Lewis, one of the greats.
Optimism  combined w/ realism saves lives.
Panic kills.

The best news is that there is no reason to believe this is real news. Worst news? The economy is going to suffer mightily for pretty much no reason.

Soon, the likes of kpack will be extolling a cashless society. Frumi goes without saying. Just watch.

Good stuff. We’ll make it

Any death is tragic but the death rate continues its decline. 1.7%
3.5% a week ago. Data will show sub 1% soon. But more pain before that.

Check in on your neighbors. Call or message. Be good to others. Don’t hoard. There is plenty for everyone as long as we are considerate

Jimbo I am beginning to enjoy your company! 😉

I agree-panic is no good but preparedness is. And preparedness does not equal hoarding but who knows what the future holds? I live in a state known for crazy drivers but saw some of the craziest moves and accidents today I had ever seen. I think it may be a good idea for police departments to start beefing up their numbers. We dont know whats coming.

Its not my speciality, but it does seem that as unemployment rates increase, crime rates will increase as well.

Picasso, please take your take your negativity to another thread. Read the OP. there is plenty of room for this type of speculation on the other threads. We are trying to make ourselves feel better here!

That is true,  why don’t American want to wear masks?  It will definitely curb transmission.  Many Asian  countries that have controlled the virus well, recommend masks.

China Reports No New Local Infections
China on Thursday reported no new local infections for the first time since the coronavirus crisis began three months ago, reaching a milestone in its battle with the deadly outbreak that has upended daily life and economic activity around the world, the [link=https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/18/world/asia/china-coronavirus-zero-infections.html]New York Times[/link] reports.

As governments in Italy, the United States and elsewhere grapple with the pandemic, China has hailed its success as evidence of what can be achieved when a vast, top-down bureaucracy that brooks no dissent is mobilized in pursuit of a single target.

favipiravir , a flu drug approved in japan seems to be able to reduce viral loads if given early in the disease. Whether that translates into better clinical outcomes is yet to be determined.
I consider that good news.

I think the US should do a “Manhattan Project” scale allocation of resources. Throw money and people at this for the singular goal of finding a quick solution. Like quick-like. Did I mention quick?
