  • 2021-2022 PGY2 spots

Posted by aprocaetano_911 on August 30, 2020 at 9:24 am

Does anyone know of programs that have DR PGY2 openings for this upcoming application cycle? I am currently completing my ERAS and see that there are 4 programs listed as physician only. Will these be the only programs listed by the time the application submission opens? Is it possible that some programs have not posted the opening on ERAS yet or is representative of all of them?

do you have any radiology experience, 50 people / yr apply to each of those spots with already solid CVs, other spots are filled under the radar that you never hear about, then there are gme funding issues

It’s pretty early in the app cycle. PGY-2 spots come from someone in a TY with a radiology spot dropping out for some reason or a program expanding their slots. Give it time.

Would you consider sharing which 4 programs are offering this?

I don’t mind sharing them as long as it isn’t an ERAS/NRMP violation. From my initial review of their terms it doesn’t seem to be. If you hope to apply to these programs I recommend going through ERAS if possible.

I’ll post them in a few hours/tomorrow. Just want to give the forum time to call me out if I shouldn’t =).

Edit: The ones I see are:

          Brookwood Baptist health program
HCA Healthcare/USF Morsani college of medicine GME programs (Trinity, FL)
Stony Brook Medicine/University hospital (Stony Brook, NY)
          U Florida Jacksonville
University of Maryland – I think this one actually requires sponsorship from SACM.
          USA Health (Mobile)

Thank you! Yes, I would definitely apply through ERAS if I was going to apply. Just wanted to get a sense of whether they were bigger cities or small towns. Thank you for posting.
