President-elect [link=https://thehill.com/people/joe-biden]Joe Biden[/link] has tapped Atlanta Mayor [link=https://thehill.com/people/keisha-bottoms]Keisha Lance Bottoms[/link] to serve in a top post at the Democratic National Committee (DNC), where she’ll focus on voter engagement and protection.

“Im honored and humbled to be endorsed by @JoeBiden for Vice Chair of the @DNC. Im ready to build on our partys progress to make a better future for all Americans,” Bottoms [link=https://twitter.com/KeishaBottoms/status/1349865543931670531?s=20]said in a tweet[/link] Thursday.

Bottoms earned national recognition last year for spearheading Atlanta’s response to the coronavirus pandemic, as well as her work alongside former gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams turning out Georgia’s Democratic voters in the general election and subsequent Senate runoffs earlier this month.
At the DNC, Bottoms will be the vice-chair of civic engagement and voter protection.[/QUOTE]

Keisha Lance Bottoms won’t seek re-election.

    Public announcement expected later today.

Or maybe she knows she did a terrible job?  Nah, that can’t be it.  You’re right.  I wonder what it is!

It could also be a case of bad spellcheck. According to her announcement, city employees were afraid of getting castrated [:o]

The more people involve prayer, their god and music in their resignation announcement, the juicier the scandal that brought them down.

The cop she fired via news-conference just got reinstated by the GA civil service commission.  Her utter failure in handling that incident may have something to do with the early end of her political career.

it’s almost impossible to fire a cop though.

In NY, NJ, MA and CA that is true. Not so in GA. But you have to do A–>B–>C–>D and give the notices that you agreed upon in your contracts. If you go from A—>D in an hour, just because you have a press conference to give, you can’t be suprised if your trumpist exercise of power gets overturned.

He’ll still get fired. But now the city has to pay him back pay and keep him on the payroll until they manage to go through the correct steps.
