    Look this is really bad

Trumplicans can downplay this try to disown it. Act semi outraged

But this is really really really bad

Its not going to go away soon either. Its going to scar and fracture the Republican Party

    And it should

They basically tried to overthrow the government and change our way of life

No easy way out of this for republicans

I couldn’t read the article.  The company is stopping its employees from donating to GOP?

Suspending corporate donations to the Republican candidates who objected to Biden’s certification

Commerce Bank, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Boston Scientific, and Citibank are now following suit.

What do you think of that?

Should these Dem Reps in 2016 have faced similar wrath?

Another way you can vote is with your money. Im surprised or maybe this is in the pipeline that something like Project Lincoln doesnt go after donors. Cut off the funding.

Also Id still like to see Congress do some expulsions. Rafael Cruz and Hawley for starts.

Some might find this surprising to learn but … politicians are motivated by fundraising.  If their actions/positions make it *harder* for them to raise money rather than easier, then they will shift those positions.

the PGA has pulled the plug on Trump

The Trump Organization said in a statement Sunday night that the decision to pull the 2022 PGA Championship from Trump National Golf Club Bedminster in New Jersey “is a breach of a binding contract and they have no right to terminate the agreement.”

So you guys are all okay with this?

When should we be expecting the shut-off of fundraising for those Dems who have asked for violence?  You know, the ones that literally asked for actual violence?

Here’s Trump’s transcript and nowhere does he ask for violence.

Read into it what you want, but if that’s the standard for national cancellation then there should be a wave of other politicians losing their funding as well – I suspect that won’t happen, of course.

The actions of those Trump supporters were wrong and again, if you want to believe Trump inflamed them then so be it.  But he didn’t explicitly ask for violence when others have.

It seriously doesn’t bother you all even for one second to remove viewpoints corporations deem “wrong?”  Look, I understand you are agreeing with the corps this time, but what if that’s not the case next time?

For example, let’s say Trump had won and Dem politicians had asked for people to “rise up in the streets” as they likely would have done and BLM/antifa/etc. likely would have rioted.  Would you agree that they should have been cancelled?

This is not a good path forward guys.

Corporations are people, my friend – Mitt Romney

Corps can do what they want with their money.  If you don’t want to get cancelled, don’t be a raging arsehole.  You reap what you sow.  Play stupid games.  Fudge around and find out.  Actions have consequences.  However, you want to put it.

Yes. I am perfectly OK with corporations deciding to pull donations from individuals whom they feel have threatened American democracy and/or instigated insurrection.

And I reject on its face your false equivalency of  BLM protests with an armed insurrection aimed at overthrowing the US government.

Not just apples to oranges .. it’s apples to crossbows.

Look, you and other Trump supporters and some of the right wing media might very much want is to be the same.  But it is clear that large majorities of Americans do *not* think it is the same. And at the end of the day that is why these corporations are acting.

They are acting because they feel that if it comes out that they are giving Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley money, then they will lose customers.

The very fact that they feel the need to act should be evidence that it is different… very different … from BLM protests.

Just look at the response to each protest.  BLM got the troops on the steps.  Armed insurrection got a handful of capital police.

I’m fine with corps pulling funding for all the reasons I listed above.  It’s no different than if I stopped banking with Chase because I found out they support Rafael Cruz.

You seemed willing to argue in good faith and willing to at least make some pretense at a fair reading of reality … until about November 10th.  Since then you seem to have gone off the rails a bit.

                      You should leave

Your argument is disingenuous garbage full of false equivalency

Furthermore you refuse to accept that actions have consequences

                      You should leave
