Whistleblower alleged mass hysterectomies at ICE facility
Posted by btomba_77 on September 14, 2020 at 4:52 pm[link=https://lawandcrime.com/high-profile…ention-center/]https://lawandcrime.com/h…ofile…ention-center/[/link]
An ICE nurse is claiming on the record that women who see a particular agency gynecologist almost always undergo a hysterectomy, despite not knowing why theyre undergoing such a procedure.
According to Wooten, ICDC consistently used a particular gynecologist outside the facility who almost always opted to remove all or part of the uterus of his female detainee patients.Everybody he sees has a hysterectomyjust about everybody, Wooten said, adding that, everybodys uterus cannot be that bad.
Weve questioned among ourselves like goodness hes taking everybodys stuff outThats his specialty, hes the uterus collector. I know thats uglyis he collecting these things or somethingEverybody he sees, hes taking all their uteruses out or hes taken their tubes out. What in the world.
I truly hope that this turns out to be a false claim or misunderstanding.
If true, forced sterilization is torture and needs to be treated as such.

Medical Director of the ICE Health Service Corps (IHSC) Dr. Ada Rivera said in a statement obtained by Law&Crime that ICE vehemently disputes the implication that detainees are used for experimental medical procedures. ICEs mission is to protect the homeland and to swiftly and quickly remove people from the country; the health, welfare and safety of ICE detainees is one of the agencys highest priorities, any assertion or claim to the contrary is false and intentionally misleading, the statement said. Rivera, citing ICE data, said that since 2018 only two individuals at Irwin County Detention Center were referred to certified, credentialed medical professionals at gynecological and obstetrical health care facilities for hysterectomies in compliance with National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC) standards. Rivera said detainees at ICE facilities are afforded informed consent, and a medical procedure like a hysterectomy would never be performed against a detainees will. The statement also said medical care decisions are made by medical personal, not law enforcement. The statement further said that it was unfortunate that the allegations contained in the whistleblower complaint were shared with the media without allowing the government to examine or take appropriate action. (Emphasis added).
The whistleblowing nurse at the ICE facility says that dozens of the detainees were telling her they had hysterectomies and don’t know why. So ICE is saying 2 patients had hysterectomies since 2018. ICE refers patients to civilian gynecologists. So, easy to check.

Congressional visit to the detention facility:
Some congresswomen went to visit the ICE detention center today and say what they found was scaryCongresswoman Barragan had to inform a detainee that she was injected by the OB/GYN with birth control without informed consent. Why does a detainee need birth control in a segregated detention center?

Rep Garcia of TX says it appears the stories are true.

Appears stories are true, questions & outrage remain, and investigation will continue. We cant allow ICE or its contractors to use women in such an inhumane way by forcibly subjecting them to unwanted and unnecessary medical procedures.”

Also revealed that the physician accused, Dr. Mahendra Amin, was the subject of a Justice Department investigation in 2015 for making false claims to Medicaid and Medicare. As a result, [link=https://www.justice.gov/usao-mdga/pr/hospital-authority-irwin-county-resolves-false-claims-act-investigation-520000]he and other doctors involved paid $525,000 in a civil settlement[/link], according to the Justice Department.
One detainee showed me a medical document and said they gave me injections. I don’t know what for and I didn’t authorize it. Read this and tell me. The document was for a “Depo Provera Injection”. After receiving it she began bleeding and experienced terrible pain for 42 days.

Allow me to adjust your BS detector. Its way too partisan.
This story is what, a couple of weeks old? How long does it take to check the records of a hospital OR for hysterectomy procedures, and how long does it take to check the records of a pharmacy for IUDs or Depo-Provera implants ordered, and so on from a particular medical professional affiliated with the detention center?
Less than a day. Especially when its such an attention-grabbing story.
So when a bunch of congresspeople, two weeks later, are strolling around the facility listening to stories and dont mention the most obvious possible sources of confirmation (hospital, pharma records) and say the stories appear to be true…
Thats BS. There is a 1000% chance if there were any evidence in hospital or pharm records, then this story would lead CNN. And it doesnt.

The hospital where hundreds of hysterectomies allegedly occurred reports only 2.

Nazis did forced sterilizations. Trump does forced sterilizations. –> Trump is a Nazi.
That’s all the MSNBC crowd needs to remember.-
RG of course everything in dergons post could be technically true with just two. Just saying.

Nah, it can be dismissed as horse poo.
The rule with these laundry list outrages is that you say, bring forth your champion, your headliner.
Here it was ICE is doing hundreds of hysterectomies on healthy young women to keep them from having babies in the US!!!
Fact check false. There were two hysterectomies, and that seems a reasonable number of the population who might need one because theyre older, have fibroids, anemic from bleeding and so on.
The champion is defeated. The rest is uh, um, they gave me birth control without saying what is was for. Casting about for some other thing to get attention once the headliner was debunked.
The rest of the stuff will be things like a parent didnt know their teen daughter was having sex with the guy she disapproved of, but the teen told the doctor and requested birth control. Now the teen doesnt want to tell mom that shes sexually active, so yeah shell tell mom the bad ICE man gave her a depo shot when she thought it was a flu shot.

Nah. Its all fruit of the poisonous tree. Do the monitoring and whatever responsible investigations, but waste no more time worrying about it.
I do enjoy it as a good example of how to diagnose and dispose of a hoax efficiently.

I got so caught up in the words of the post I forgot about the headline! Wow, mass hysterectomies how many is that?

If you google ICE hysterectomies you get two pages of outrage porn headlines from the usual suspects, a variety of Democratic politicians making the usual racism things, Mexico asking what is going on. Dig further and you get:
At this stage the inspector general is still doing a more in-depth review but at this stage the documentation indicates that there were over the course of four years, two hysterectomies performed on two women, Mr. Cuccinelli told the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.
He said those findings were also confirmed by the nearby medical facility that does the procedures for the Irwin County Detention Center, which is operated by a private company under contract with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The hysterectomy allegations surged across social media, with Democrats fueling it, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and congressional Hispanic lawmakers.
One immigrant-rights group accused ICE of butchering people.
Project South, which filed the complaint on behalf of Dawn Wooten, the whistleblowing nurse, told The Washington Post they didnt have first-hand knowledge of the hysterectomies, and they filed the complaint to try to force an investigation.
Mr. Cuccinelli said that is not acceptable as the basis of a whistleblower complaint.
[link=https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2020/sep/24/early-probe-undercuts-claims-mass-hysterectomies-i/]https://www.washingtontim…mass-hysterectomies-i/[/link]
Right. So then one googles Project South, and its a radical activist group that hates the current immigration laws.
So a radical activist immigration reform group finds a nurse at an ICE detention center who tells them stories about mass hysterectomies that shes never actually seen proof of – just stories from detainees who may or may not have existed – then gets a bunch of headlines because Orange Man Bad.
Its all a hoax, the usual stuff.

The guy I feel bad for is the OB/Gyn who gets dragged through the mud over this. I bet if someone bothered to ask, 99% of the detained women are happy that someone paid attention to their health problems during a traumatic time in their lives.

[link=https://www.nytimes.com/2020/%2009/29/us/ice-hysterectomies-%20surgeries-georgia.html%C2%A0]The New York Times[/link] in a report published this week interviewed 16 women who were concerned about the gynecological care they received while at the detention center.
Independent gynecologists who reviewed the available medical files concluded that the gynecologist involved in the migrant women’s cases routinely overstated the risks involved with cysts or masses and recommended surgical intervention even though it did not appear to be necessary.
At least one woman said she originally received a medical exam for an unrelated issue that then became a vaginal exam. The doctor recorded that the woman had cysts in her ovaries and scheduled a surgery to remove them, even though pathology reports showed that she didn’t have dangerous cysts.

Seems like about time. At the same time do subpoena mean anything anymore. At least not in Washington it seems.

Read the links from Dergon. Flat. Almost like they held the person down and performed the procedure. Yet the moral Dem committee is going to get to the bottom of it. As if all workers within ICE and this private company are Republicans. Curious, how many Abortions were performed to those within the ICE facilities?
