Overall they did a pretty good job with it but nothing compares to the original

Actually, I just found out about the actors “taking the knee” after the premier. To add insult to injury, the writers apparently have said the Klingons represent Trump voters.
I’m done. I don’t need to pay CBS for this.-

You will be assimilated, resistance is futile.

Well, I loved season 1 & 2 of Discovery. I like the full-season story arc style (as opposed to the stand-alone episodic nature of most of the ST series)
They started losing me on Season 3.
And I just muscled my way through season 4 because I was invested but …. ugh. It was so painful.
40% of the scenes might as well be lifted from therapy sessions. Characters are either talking about their relationships with their partner, talking about their relationships with another crewmember, or publicly expressing their deepest fears and self-doubt to other officers.
The pacing is painfully slow … barely anything happens until the last couple of episodes.
I think I might be done with Discovery.

Picard otoh I enjoy very much. I give it a solid B.

Going to start into Strange New Worlds next week. Hopeful.
