If youre a rad, then just go over to your US machine, turn it on and start scanning yourself or a friend.

thanks , but that did not answer my question. I was looking for a way to hands on retrain with a little more guidance. Prior to Covid this was possible at review courses but I don’t know where to look now.

Go scan a tech. They should be all you need assuming youve had the basics in residency.

This is like asking how to get comfortable driving a car without having a car or someone to teach you.

Maybe shadow a tech on your days off? Or pay them?

again thanks for the website, but ultrasound is something you cannot learn without hands on.  Maybe someone can develop at least a simulator like the ones used by airline pilots in training.

I dont understand. If youre a physician who would read ultrasound then you likely have access to ultrasound and sonographers . If you dont then why would you want to

you do not quite understand. I can not rely on US techs all the time but may need to or want to do my own scanning in certain situations.

What specifically is your goal? Are you changing jobs? Do you need to do US guided procedures? Do you do overnight call and dont have a tech? Are you doing very specialized anatomy like high end peds?

the goal is just to get acclimatized to basic US scanning hands on, kind of like playing the piano after a long absence, which you can probably accelerate with in person instruction.

I think Jefferson had visiting fellowships to learn some sono

I imagine there is some hands on scanning

                      Maybe not now with covid
