You have to be AU to supervise the administration of the tracer. In my experience, the department will often use the AU of their principal nucs rad on all the doses even if other rads interpret the studies. They are interpreting ‘under the supervision of the AU’.
Some of this can be state specific. In many states nucs is regulated directly by the NRC, in others there is a state office that handles this (‘agreement states’). So something that is correct for my hospital in state A may not be correct for your hospital in state B.
