    Hospitalist is a job you do for 2-3 years after residency until something solid comes around.
     
    Radiology is a career.
     
    I know a couple of older radiologists who keep working because they like what they do. I have yet to see a hospitalist who is NOT working on getting his cardiology or GI fellowship apps in.
