Night time guys grind but get a lot of time off. No need to be resentful. If you want that much time off, go be a nighthawk.
Their pay per RVU came out the same in my last group (total pay was the same as the daytime guys as well)
Day time guys did more complex daytime stuff, more procedures, more admin, more phone calls, outpatient cancer staging, etc and RVU per hour was slower but they work a lot more days
Night time guys did more bread and butter ER work with more negatives and moved a lot faster. Being up in the middle of the night kind of sucks though.
Honestly sounds like a pretty even trade to me.
