You cant tell them to take more weekends because they are already working the most weekends. Some places they are working intense 10 hr shifts (only one on) with day people working at a slower pace for 8 hrs. No one to bounce cases off.
Ive been doing 7on 7off evenings, has been nice to be able to do daytime moonlighting during weeks off to make decent total pay. however will look to change to daytime job to take back my weekends and normalize life at home with family during next year or 2.
