• Unintended Consequences

There seems to be the feeling by many that VA jobs are safe from the slings and arrows of radiology’s outrageous fortune.
I wonder how this will affect such jobs, if it does?

A new rule is up for approval to “confirm that its health care professionals may practice their health care profession consistent with the scope and requirements of their VA employment, notwithstanding any State license, registration, certification, or other requirements that unduly interfere with their practice.”

In other words, giving extenders carte blanche.

It’s always something…

Good thing UPenn retracted that paper on “extenders” reading CXR better than residents, eh?  Talk about some ammo.

NPs still talk about that one terribly designed study over 10 years ago that said they were equal to physicians in typical FM outcomes.
