The Biden DOJ
From lifelong Democrat, 2020 Biden voter, multimillion dollar democrat donor, successful entrepreneur, and former refugee Chamath Palihapitiya:
DOJ sues SpaceXone of the greatest successes of American capitalism and exceptionalismforwait for itDEI foot faults?!
This, in a nutshell, is what is so broken in our current federal government. How does a lawsuit like this happen without it being run up the flagpole with senior DOJ lawyers and even the WH from having a discussion/debate first?
It doesnt.
Which means:
1. Everything increasingly becomes a political vendetta orchestrated by politicians and the establishment blob. If you dont like a guy, then find a way to be a pain in his ass even when he helps your agenda (in this case the list of ways Elon and his companies help Biden on climate change, energy and Ukraine, just to name a few areas, isnt even debatable).
2. Decide to not see the forest from the trees. In this case, the forest is a company that is focused on highly classified rocketry capabilities that normally are FYEO of US citizens.
3. Validate how DEI is just a cudgel for judgmental, emotional overreach vs a balanced way to create real diversity.
Stupid and sadand I say this as a former refugee!

Elons response to the DOJ suing his company:
SpaceX was told repeatedly that hiring anyone who was not a permanent resident of the United States would violate international arms trafficking law, which would be a criminal offense.
We couldnt even hire Canadian citizens, despite Canada being part of NORAD!
This is yet another case of weaponization of the DOJ for political purposes.
