Is this how you debate an issue? Personal offensive comments on people that are not even the candidate? Criticize Trump on everything including his immigration policy and then attack his wife, a legal immigrant on how she looks and talks. You wrote a post as if she is speaking. It was critical of the fact that English is her 5th language. You attack his son Eric because he works for his father. How many men in this country work and only work for their fathers? How many men have carried on viable family businesses such as farming, contracting, etc. that keep Americans employed? You make another of your inappropriate offensive comments about the way his daughter Tiffany looks. A new college grad that had the guts to stand up there and deliver a speech, also for the first time in such a venue, and was very impressive and almost flawless in her delivery. The comments are offensive and childish. I am not a big fan of Trump but I certainly do not make points by attacking his wife and kids.-
My view just says member in blocked list a bunch of times but that is an interesting take. For anyone to say she looked sleazy in what seemed like a very conservative outfit is such an absurd hot take that reinforces why I hit the block button.

I stand by my statements…kids born with a silver spoon hoping dad gives them a good inheritance that they won’t have to pay taxes on if his health plan gets thru
and again the college drop out was dressed inappropriately and claimed a speech she did not write..she would be charged with theft if it were anybody else…yes Trump we know who is crookedQuote from Ixrayu

Offensive outfit? What would you have had her wear? And, be specific please. In any event, she is a well-spoken, multi-lingual lady who shuns the spotlight, and, on the national stage, did a pretty damn good job. So she borrowed a few lines……bfd. Wedding dress? Where do you come up with this stuff? Do you just write what you imagine? Her dress was from a Serbian designer.
I suggest you Google Michelle Obamas pictures for her two convention speeches seeing how you claim the dress was too tight.
HRC and FLOTUS are not college drop outs and have law degrees.
Yes and HRC should know about ethics, policy, and law and not have used or been involved with the email scandal. Anyone else that did that would never get govt security clearance ever again. The current FLOTUS also used her name to get a nice position in Chicago which has been well published, and you write about Trumps kids. Also, you have no such proof, just your imagination again, that his kids are lining up for his inheritance. You do not even know if they are in the will.
And as for her plagiarized speech yes it was a big mistake. But just remember the current VP took a speech from Neil Kinnock. (and according to your high standards of education he was also an attorney) BH OBAMA (also an attorney) took parts of a speech from Daval Patrick and Elizabeth Warren.

Cruz just took a dump on n trumps pool
Pretty amazing.
Goes 20 minutes (10 minutes over his allotted time) and refuses to endorse the guy.
“Don’t stay home in November. Stand and speak and vote your conscience.”
That’s an active call to refuse support. Amazing. -
Waht would you expect from Cruz? He’s been faithful to what he’s been saying. He is one of the few that has held back support for Trump. He even supplied the text of his speech & was faithful to it.
He was getting cheers for his speech up until he said, “vote your conscience,” the message of the anti-Trump people at the convention. Only then did he get the boos.
In this case, “Lyin’ Ted” has not lied. He stuck to his guns. In nothing else do I agree with him but whether only self-serving he stayed on course.

Too bad he is not running -
What conviction? Cruz stated on national TV at the first fox debate that he would unconditionally endorse whoever was the republican nominee. Now that Trump gets the nomination it’s “vote your conscience”. Sounds like he chose the low road (the high road being to not show up and not weigh in, like some of the others). Cruz is a lot of things but a man of convictions he’s not. Frankly he’s a big part of the reason Trump won — his evangelical ultraconservative views and political backstabbing is what many of the more moderate republicans feared most.
-
Conviction is in the eye of the beholder.
Like I said in the other thread, Cruz is making a big bet that Trump loses in a landslide. He knows he will pay a short term political price, but if the Trump campaign goes down in flames as a clustertastrophe then come 2020 Cruz looks like the the guy who stood on principle. Then he goes right back to his mantra of “The GOP needs to nominate a true conservative.
If it’s close and Hillary barely wins, then Cruz looks like the guy who sabotaged the whole thing. -

Deleted UserJuly 21, 2016 at 7:12 amConviction
Just a word that republicans like to throw around
Remember the George Bush has Conviction days of the past?
Personally I could care less what happens to the Republican party………….Just a bystander looking at them from a distance eating popcorn and watching the implosion
Athough I did muse at Cruz stating they should support Supreme Court Justices who do not legislate from the bench but interpret the constitution……………………. as the party threatens to ban a Religion
-
Kpack – YOU were the one throwing the word “conviction” around just now by saying Cruz should be praised for his, not the Republicans. Cruz has none. He truly thinks God wants him to be president and will do whatever it takes to accomplish that. He was the much scarier candidate running this year, imho. And he’s positioning himself for a run in the next four. And the democrats are probably helping him inadvertently as they try to bury Trump and make Cruz seem more measured and presidential by comparison. We all know Trump doesn’t give a crap about 90% of the social issues Cruz is about. And he’s not really going to build a wall. He just wants to stamp his name in block letters across the front of the White House and have access to the biggest stage on the planet. And others will run the day to day operations of the country, which Trump has really shown no interest in. He’s not about the details and if you ask him it’s always “I will find the best people” to handle that. If you ask Cruz he has a laundry list of uber conservative changes, much scarier.

Again I could fng care less as the Republican party implodes…………… But I look at Kasich and I see a very principled stand despite giving a Pledge during a debate
But again……… Its no skin off of my arse -
It will be interesting how his “conviction” plays out. One side will be the voters that will admire him for not endorsing Trump because of his family loyalty. He was on this morning and said once Trump insulted his wife and father his pledge was abdicated. On the other side will be the voter that expects him to honor his pledge and to them he looks like many other politicians that will do whatever they have to do or say for themselves and not the public.
Trump saw the speech and let him speak. He was asked going to his motorcade about it and did not make any negative comment. Perhaps Trump figured let him hang himself. -

Deleted UserJuly 21, 2016 at 9:44 amI don’t believe that Trump saw the speech and let him speak
His family in that box looked like they were going to poop themselves when Cruz dropped the Vote your Conscience line
I don’t buy that line of bull one bit -
I doubt Cruz ran that line by the Trump people but I also doubt Trumps people focused on what was going to be said either. I’m sure the republicans just told Trump that traditionally they always have some speakers on to position themselves for the future and that this year it would be Cruz and Trump probably said “whatever”. In fact in Trump’s egoist mind “vote your conscience” may even equate to “make America Great Again”.
-
Trump called his wife ugly and insinuated his father killed a beloved President..that’s gutter trash and Cruz showed him I am not no Pedro that you can tell to go stand in the corner..the media should have piled on Trump then but no they coddled the big whiney bipolar Bi-cioastal trump university circus barker.. Well I’d have to say it’s been a pretty uneventful convention. I was expecting more rowdiness from protesters, and a stronger anti-Trump movement. But here we are on Friday and nothing much has really happened. Which is a good thing.
I actually think a lot of people just stayed away from downtown, worked from home, took vacation, because traffic around here has been beautiful this week. So that helped out a lot. -

oh c’mon, SNL…….his kids are very well spoken, articulate, and have earned their place in the trump business. to say otherwise reeks of personal hatred and a vendetta towards the Donald. Considering the rhetoric at the convention, the only unifying topic is Hillary, she’ll probably need a doubling of her Secret Service security. Some at the convention want to first execute Hillary in front of a firing squad. And then, I suppose try her, stacking the jury deck to ensure the proper mob verdict is found.
Rule of Law is inconvenient as it gets in the way of mob justice.
After the election, some might find impeachment dreams to be too slow than a 2nd Amendment solution, based on the emotions at the convention. -
Lets face it..the current electoral system is as honest as FIFA or the Olympics.

Are you really that much in love with Hillary that you cannot see reality? This was a first for her to make a speech at such an event. Most people could not have done it. She did not appear nervous. She did not make a lot of mistakes as you claim, especially for the first time in this venue. Even the Democratic news commentators at NBC and CNN were complimenting her on the delivery of the speech. Did it miss on a couple of points. Yes, she could have given a couple of examples/personal stories of the other side of him and they should have had her speak some phrases in the other languages she speaks.

Fear hate
Fear hate
And more fear and hate
Definitely the darkest convention I’ve ever witnessed
I dunno, hasn’t that been the GOP platform since Dubbya? That and the 47% lazy and parasitic “takers?” And or course the brown people who elected the brown President.
Hate and fear means a lot to the GOP. It’s all they got.-
Someone else put it pretty well. She looked like one of the Fembots from Austin Powers. #FamousMelaniaTrumpQuotes is trending on twitter. There’s defintely parts of that speech that look exactly like Obama’s.

All Trump has to do now is deliver the speech of his life
For starters, this cant be just another rambling speech about himself. At this point, nobody cares about his company and his wealth, and this is certainly not the time to settle scores and hurl insults. This is the time to talk about America and his vision for guiding the nation through a forest of crises, foreign and domestic. It should emphasize principle over policy, and be uplifting.
Instead of talking about himself, he must show himself by talking about the people whose votes he already has and those he needs. He must speak to their concerns and their dreams in ways that demonstrate he will faithfully represent Americans of all tribes, beliefs and places. He got to this remarkable station by earning the trust of millions and understanding they felt abandoned by both parties; now he must add to their confidence and numbers by pledging to work for them and them only. They must know that they will be his lodestar in the White House.
Above all, every word he says must come from the heart. Anything that doesnt will clang like a loud warning signal that hes not ready. Ad libs are dangerous at this stage.

Gallup convention analysis: For the first time, most who watched GOP convention say theyre less likely to vote for nominee
The good news for Republicans: Reaction to the Democratic convention was also historically weak. The margin between those who say Hillarys big show made them more likely to vote for her versus less likely was just four points, 45/41. Never before since Gallup started asking this question in 1984 has the spread for a Democrat been that small. (Although the spread for Obamas 2012 convention was very close, at five points.)
The bad news: Trumps numbers are much worse. The first column is more likely, the second is less likely, the third is no difference, and the fourth is the margin between more and less:
Trumps -15 is the first time in 32 years of polling that a convention from either party has alienated more voters than its attracted. As you can see, no previous modern GOP convention has cracked 40 percent on voters saying theyre less likely to support the nominee, let alone 50. Among Democrats dating back to 1984, only Hillary managed to break 40. (She shattered another glass ceiling!) Similarly, no nominee on either side has polled under 40 percent in terms of making voters more likely to support him until Trump pulled it off in Cleveland.

can u blame them..it was a mess from a man who claimed it would be razzle dazzle with a-list( he has shown he cannot close the deal and why because he did not write the art of the deal).
