I just saw an email requesting radiologists to participate in curating a dataset of trauma CTs by tagging findings and providing images. Why are we (radiologists) doing this for free. Why? Its ridiculous to ask us to not just help possibly expedite in building the very thing (AI) that will lead to our professional demise but to do it for free? Why? So some programmers and their VC backers can get free high skilled labor and access to otherwise private patient information? People buy and sell datasets for good sums of money. This just seems like a scam to get access to free data set and free radiologist labor. Doctors and especially radiologists are idiots. This is why the field of medicine is where it is now. Run by administrators and MBAs. FML.
