[blockquote]  Speaker Paul Ryan said Tuesday that he thinks President Trump is trolling people with his [link=https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/national-security/trump-looking-revoking-security-clearances-brennan-clapper-hayden-rice-comey-n893781]threat to revoke the security clearances from former top national security officials[/link] who have criticized him and his policies.

I think hes trolling people, honestly, the Wisconsin Republican said, chuckling slightly, when NBC News Kasie Hunt asked if Trumps threat is dangerous.

But if he’s serious, there wouldn’t be much Congress could do about it, according to Ryan: This is something thats in the purview of the executive branch, he said.

The speaker of the House, the same party as the President, calls the President of the United States a troll.  Nice

[b]Paul Ryan Will Hit Trump In Reagan Library Speech[/b][/h1]

Former Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) is expected to knock former President Trump in a speech tonight at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library by urging members of his party to avoid rallying behind one personality or second-rate imitations, [link=https://punchbowl.news/]Punchbowl News[/link] reports.

Ryan will say: Once again, we conservatives find ourselves at a crossroads. And heres one reality we have to face. If the conservative cause depends on the populist appeal of one personality, or on second-rate imitations, then were not going anywhere.

Going back to the initial event that prompted Ryans comments: Security clearances for NS officals should terminate the day they leave their job. I had employees who had active clearances even though they had left the employ of their military branch or agency years before. Never made a lick of sense to leave people who are outside of the reach of a security officer with a clearance.

[link=https://thehill.com/homenews/555884-paul-ryan-denounces-yes-men-and-flatterers-flocking-to-mar-a-lago-for-putting-off]Paul Ryan: Voters won’t be impressed by ‘yes-men and flatterers flocking to Mar-a-Lago'[/link]

“Even worse, it was horrifying to see a presidency come to such a dishonorable and disgraceful end,” Ryan said, adding that the 2020 elections had left Republicans “powerless” in Washington.

Ryan predicted that voters in 2022 and beyond “will not be impressed by the sight of yes-men and flatterers flocking to Mar-a-Lago.

The Wisconsin Republican also pointed to “fiascos” of Trump’s “own making,” including his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. Ryan, however, he also gave Trump credit for attracting new voters to the Republican party.

“Look, to his credit, Donald Trump brought many new voters into our party, and we want them to stay,” Ryan said. “He’s a former president now, but the issues and values that held so many Republican voters and turned so many Democrats into Republicans those issues and values still matter.”
