  • Mike DeWine, Governor of Ohio

Posted by btomba_77 on August 24, 2020 at 11:11 am

A pretty low key Republican governor. He got national positive attention for Ohio’s prompt and aggressive response to Covid-19. His approval rating went up into the mid 70% range.

    So of course…

[b]Ohio Republican State Legislators seek to Impeach DeWine over violations of Civil Liberties during Pandemic[/b]

ARepublican member of the Ohio House of Representatives said on Monday that he has drawn 10 articles of impeachment against Governor Mike DeWine for his handling of the coronavirus pandemic.

Rep. John Becker of Union Township in Clermont County said in a [link=http://ohiohouse.gov/john-becker/press/state-representative-john-becker-leads-the-impeachment-effort-against-governor-mike-dewine]news release[/link] that he decided to lead the impeachment effort against the Republican governor because “government by fear and intimidation must end.”

The release said Becker is encouraging his 98 fellow House members to join him in pursuing DeWine’s impeachment. At least two other Republican members of the state HouseRep. Paul Zeltwanger of Ohio’s 54th District and Rep. A. Nino Vitale of Ohio’s 85th Districtsigned on as co-sponsors by midday Monday, according to the [link=https://impeachdewine.webs.com/]website[/link] that Becker’s office created to track the impeachment effort’s progress. In order to remove DeWine from office, the impeachment effort must receive support from a majority of members in the state House and support from two-thirds of the state Senate.

DeWine has been accused of violating the state and U.S. constitutions, among other alleged infractions, through efforts he made to curb the spread of the virus in Ohio, according to Becker’s news release.

Corporate wants people to sign a “hold harmless” paper in order to receive any corporate aid of $5.

At least J.D is “outraged.” About time he did something besides being a ghost.

Maybe the Ohio posters can correct me otherwise.

Just weeks after a train carrying toxic chemicals derailed in East Palestine, Ohio, some residents say they are being asked to sign contracts they fear could prevent them from suing later on.

Katlyn Schwarzwaelder and her boyfriend Chris Wells live just down the tracks from where the Norfolk Southern train derailed and released hazardous material.

Last week, Schwarzwaelder says, Norfolk Southern came by to test for toxins in her home. But before doing so, she was asked to sign a document.

We were told they were an independent testing agency, they were escorted by the EPA, Schwarzwaelder explained. Before they could enter the premises, they handed us a contract. The contract was essentially to be able to get onto the property, but also at the bottom was a hold harmless agreement.

The document states that the landowner agrees to hold harmless Unified Command from any and all legal claims, personal injury or property damage.

Norfolk Southern has had 111 freight train accidents in the last year, slightly down from 125 the year prior. That makes them one of the worst freight railroads in terms of safety.

On Wednesday evening, East Palestine [link=https://www.newsnationnow.com/us-news/midwest/east-palestine-officials-to-take-questions-on-ohio-train-derailment/]community members gathered[/link] for what was supposed to be a moderated town hall meeting. After reportedly pushing to change the format to an open house, representatives for Norfolk Southern [link=https://mobile.twitter.com/NewsNation/status/1626184290911363072]did not attend the gathering[/link], citing concerns for employee safety.

Norfolk is negligent and they’re going to try and fudge those people in East Palestine.  Assuming they can still stay on that land, they should be getting paid big time.
