  • MRI BILLING QUESTION

Posted by Unknown Member on June 19, 2023 at 7:58 am

    SCENARIO:
We performed 4 MRI’s W/O Contrast on DAY 1, because that is how the doctor ordered them.

DAY 2 – Doctor ordered 4 MRI’s WITH CONTRAST. The reading Radiologist dictated the report on the 2nd date of service, and as an MRI w/wo contrast.

Can I legally bill for both dates of service, and if so, do I report any modifiers?????

Yeah you can bill. I would be more concerned with authoriatzion. Modifier -51.
