Night work takes years off your life, makes it harder to gain muscle, can affect libido, and takes you off sync with children and family life. Always seemed to be trading your health for more wealth, in a field where we already have plenty of wealth.

I feel like I have heard you mention your libido at least 5 times since I joined this forum. It is odd but I am intrigued.-
I don’t know why my post was deleted.
I would do it only for 2-3 months as a bridge to a better job.
This kind of job will have a huge turnover. My question is what they will do once the first rad leaves?

Maybe he has a high libido for his age and is trying to maintain it by not working nights?
I feel the same about working nights. I took a flexible, part time telerads job but I would HAVE TO work from the Eastern Hemisphere in order to work during the day. I wouldn’t do nights for any amount of money.

12 hour shifts, overnight, and working 26 weekends? Maybe, if the pay is in the 700-800 range and volume is reasonable.

Funny, after I made this post, I was reading another thread on here that had 3-4 people state that 7 on/7 off nights was basically an unsustainable way to work

Deleted UserSeptember 8, 2023 at 8:45 amI work 7nights/14off. if I worked days I could do something like 14on/28off… easier to work more shifts in am. And yeah I don’t trust any company that ever put out an ad similar to this.
-
7 on 14 off overnights I think can be a good job. But 7 on 7 off and 12 hour shifts sounds completely unsustainable and brutal. It is amusing that they say you can pick up extra shifts on top of that!

Agree, I mean with the hardware included I can play solitaire and have access to the information superhighway.
-
I would maybe consider it for 2 million dollars. Even then not sure it would be enough to actually do it.
-
I mean I think the same of tourist traps – since they are advertising something for a certain price – obviously someone somewhere are taking them up on their offer. Similar to tourist traps.

I do 7/14 nights and that is an absolutely crazy schedule. The 7/14 9-10 hr shift jobs are creeping up into the 700s. This would need to pay 1.8M +. Even then I personally would not take it for any amount. Every 3rd weekend is already a big hit to the family.

Deleted UserSeptember 8, 2023 at 12:06 pmThe posted job is 2200hrs/year and involves overnights, weekends, and holidays. Just multiply the hourly rate you’d require to do that job. Would be at least 800K/yr I think, unless the volume is insanely low (like low enough to sleep 1a-5a and catch up the list 5a-7a).
-
That job is insane. Most ED shifts are going on tilt between 7 PM-2 AM. Then you have another 5 hrs. You are also likely logging into a backed up worklist. 12 hour shifts for 7 straight days will be awful. Theres minimal time to do much other than sleep and walk around like a zombie during work days.
