Higher Educated Americans increasingly skew liberal

Highly educated adults particularly those who have attended graduate school are far more likely than those with less education to take predominantly liberal positions across a range of political values. And these differences have increased over the past two decades.
More than half of those with postgraduate experience (54%) have either consistently liberal political values (31%) or mostly liberal values (23%), based on an analysis of their opinions about the role and performance of government, social issues, the environment and other topics. Fewer than half as many postgrads roughly 12% of the public in 2015 have either consistently conservative (10%) or mostly conservative (14%) values. About one-in-five (22%) express a mix of liberal and conservative opinions.
By contrast, among the majority of adults who do not have a college degree (72% of the public in 2015), far fewer express liberal opinions. About a third of those who have some college experience but do not have a bachelors degree (36%) have consistently liberal or mostly liberal political values, as do just 26% of those with no more than a high school degree. Roughly a quarter in each of these groups (28% of those with some college experience, 26% of those with no more than a high school education) have consistently conservative or mostly conservative values.

Simply put, hardcore conservatives are less intellectually evolved – still have caveman mentality worried only about themselves and their kind.-
makes sense as some of the more conservative states do things like remove evolution from a science book.

Yep.
I think this is the natural outcome of the anti-science anti-intellectual rhetoric of the modern Republican party. The days of William F. Buckley and thoughtful conservatism are no more, replaced by regressive social instincts and white-hot rage blended with unrelenting tactical opposition.-
interestingly I just saw something that said teen birth rate at new low. Maybe the conservative abstinence only education is working.

I remember making this point after the 2000 and 2004 election on this forum and getting yelled at from the republicans on this forum
There are some intellectual conservatives but their message got totally hijacked by the Limbaughs the Becks and FOX news to the point that those today who associate themselves with Conservatism are mostly rural and undereducated and angry white old guys.
THis was the price they paid for dumbing down their electorate

Been declining for a very long time:
[link=http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2014/04/21/why-is-the-teen-birth-rate-falling/]http://www.pewresearch.or…en-birth-rate-falling/[/link]
The all-time peak for teen births was 96.3 per 1,000 in 1957 in the midst of the Baby Boom, after having risen dramatically following the end of World War II. But the composition of teen mothers has changed drastically since then. Back in 1960, most teen mothers were marriedan estimated 15% of births to mothers ages 15-19 were to unmarried teens. Today, it has flipped: 89% of births are to unmarried mothers in that age group.
The teen birth rate has been on a steep decline since the early 1990s and that trend accelerated during the recession of 2007-2009 and the years following, reversing a brief uptick that began in 2006. Whats behind the recent trends? One possible factor is the economy: a [link=http://www.pewsocialtrends.org/2011/10/12/in-a-down-economy-fewer-births/]Pew Research analysis[/link] tied the declining birth rate to the flailing economy. And birth rates for teens fell faster than they did for all females ages 15-44 from 2007-2012 (29% and 9% declines, respectively).
What else is contributing to the decline in teen birth rates? Less sex, more contraception and more information.
Furthermore, among never-married teens who have had sex, 78% used a contraceptive method the first time they had sex, 86% used contraception during their most recent sex and 20% used dual methods (e.g., a hormonal method and a condom) during their most recent sex, all significant increases since 1988.

In my practice, the janitor – who I talk politics with occasionally is a staunch – you guessed it – Trump supporter!
I on the other hand am a Bernie Sanders supporter.
So, the radiologist (aka me) advocates liberal policies and supports raising the national minimum wage while the one who is actually making minimum wage opposes raising the minimum wage.
What a bizarre world we live in.

How Educational Differences Are Widening Americas Political Rift

College graduates are now a firmly Democratic bloc, and they are shaping the partys future. Those without degrees, by contrast, have flocked to Republicans.[link=https://www.nytimes.com/2021/09/08/us/politics/how-college-graduates-vote.html]Nate Cohn[/link]: As theyve grown in numbers, college graduates have instilled increasingly liberal cultural norms while gaining the power to nudge the Democratic Party to the left. Partly as a result, large portions of the partys traditional working-class base have defected to the Republicans.
Over the longer run, some Republicans even fantasize that the rise of educational polarization might begin to erode the Democratic advantage among voters of color without a college degree. Perhaps a similar phenomenon may help explain how Donald J. Trump, who mobilized racial animus for political gain, nonetheless fared better among voters of color than previous Republicans did, and fared worse among white voters.“Overall, 41 percent of people who cast ballots last year were four-year college graduates, according to census estimates. By contrast, just 5 percent of voters in 1952 were college graduates, according to that years American National Elections Study.”

Conservatives cant go into teaching? Why not?
Or their students dont buy into the Conservative lessons & reject them?

What States & what groups of people? Everyone across the board in every State?
And maybe teens are using birth control better than before? And regarding conservative “education,” Massachusetts and New Hampshire have the lowest teen birth rates last I looked. Oklahoma has one of the highest.

I think you should home school. I was home schooled all the way through. I am proudly a college dropout. Unless you are becoming a doctor or lawyer or engineer, I highly encourage you to drop out.

WTF! That guy!
He “proudly” dropped out after earning D grades.
Cawthorn said in a deposition, “You know, suffering from a brain injury after the accident definitely I think it slowed my brain down a little bit. Made me less intelligent.”
It shows.
Worked for Mark Meadows.
-
Theres a difference between educated and indoctrinated.
Theres a lack of free thinking and true liberalism in the upper echelon of society.
-
Yes, we can see that with followers like Cawthorn & Meadows. Not a profile in courage between them.
Republicans Are at War With College Towns. And Theyre Losing.
Growing population in Americas highly educated enclaves has led to huge gains for the Democratic Party. And its changing the electoral map going into 2024.
pring elections in Wisconsin are typically low turnout affairs, but in April, with the nation watching the states bitterly contested Supreme Court race, voters turned out in record-breaking numbers.
No place was more energized to vote than Dane County, the states second-most populous county after Milwaukee. Its long been a progressive stronghold thanks to the double influence of Madison, the state capital, and the University of Wisconsin, but this was something else. Turnout in Dane was higher than anywhere else in the state. And the Democratic margin of victory that delivered control of the nonpartisan court to liberals was even more lopsided than usual and bigger than in any of the states other 71 counties.…
In state after state, fast-growing, traditionally liberal college counties like Dane are flexing their muscles, generating higher turnout and ever greater Democratic margins. Theyve already played a pivotal role in turning several red states blue and they could play an equally decisive role in key swing states next year.
…
Name the flagship university Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Ohio, Texas, Virginia, among others and the story tends to be the same. If the surrounding county was a reliable source of Democratic votes in the past, its a landslide county now. There are exceptions to the rule, particularly in the states with the most conservative voting habits. But even in reliably red places like South Carolina, Montana and Texas, youll find at least one college-oriented county producing ever larger Democratic margins.

I think a lot of educated women are woke to the fact that many (obviously not all) GOPers do not value or respect a womans education. Theyd be just fine with things going back to caveman days and in some instances, actually seem to advocate for this. Its gross.
-
This is not to say there are also men who identify as liberal who dont care about a womens education either. Look at part of the Epstein island visitor list-that included plenty of so-called liberal pedos, er individuals.
-
There are plenty of so-called liberal dudes out there who claim woke democrat because they think they can increase their chances of having group sex with multiple woke democrat free-love women. Truth.
-
Somehow they all are what youd describe as quite affluent.
Something about money seems to make many people feel entitled for all kinds of entitlements.
Wonder what it could be.-
A lot of the girls here in FL are in desperate situations or extremely naive. A lot of the human traffickers are just cold blooded criminals. South Florida is full of these typespossibly a worse situation than Vegas. Its an ok place to be for a short time for shopping/restaurants but soon youll see youre really just a dollar sign to most people-people who are experts at manipulating youagain, also likely worse than Vegas. Its pretty gross. Most people I know who are happiest here only live here part time.
-
Obviously, not all wealthy people are like that. Not all use hookers or get with underage girls, but plenty do. And Florida-and the FBI-let that happen for a very very long time.
-
That area of Florida also has a LOT of scam businesses regarding drug recovery, whether testing, half-way houses, you name it. A big mix of very poor people who can be and are exploited, drug availability everywhere, very low wages making things very difficult for those without resources including family support to dig their way out of their holes. & right there in Trumps Mar-a-Lago neighborhood. Travel A1A & see fabulous properties. Perfect hunting grounds for the likes of Epstein & his friends exploiting women. And state laws keeping people down.
-
Yep. And the corruption is on a scale likely no where else.
-
In this case, young girls. You wanna blame major government problems and inefficiency for the past 20 years? Look no further than the Loloita Express, on which half the government, half of Big Tech and celebrities spent all their time traveling to Pedo Island raping children. Half these people have little girls of their own. PEDOPHILES.
-
It’s interesting that there is a correlation between more educational attainment and the ability to be brainwashed.
I would have thought it would be the other way around.
It must be the way people are “taught.”
-
The government also needs to stop creepy weirdos from PEEPING ON WOMEN.
-
Its pretty interesting how all these politicians are so intent on spending everyones time and money investigating each other and not truly horrific crimes like CHILD RAPE.

unfortunately I think the proof dies with Ghislaine. So most of this is going to go down as speculations.
Now keep in mind you have places like Tennessee where the 40+ year old government officials date 17 year olds, and want to lower the age for marriage to less than 18. Wonder which party is running the state of TN. It’ll be a full on Lolita State.
[link=https://prospect.org/politics/how-republican-rep-john-rose-found-his-wife/]https://prospect.org/poli…n-rose-found-his-wife/[/link] -
Why should people get away with child rape? Thats not ok.
-
Indeed, I have seen very weird and not OK things in Florida. I appreciate law enforcement who I know put their lives on the line every day, but I have been followed in Florida for miles and miles by cops, sometimes by more than one, for doing nothing wrongbeing essentially cased by the police. Sometimes its been to the point where I felt I needed to turn off the road.
Also, a couple of months ago their was this weird local anti-circumcision rally. Dudes were standing outside on the street corner holding signs that said Honk to Save Foreskins and were wearing red paint on their crotches. I told my friend about this and she said there was a high likelihood it was an anti-Semitic thing. Someone was obviously paying them to do that. Theres no way dudes are standing outside like that with fake blood on their crotches for nothing.
I also went to an expensive workout class recently in a small studio. After the workout started I noticed theres a huge camera on in the corner, and this place doesnt have virtual classes or anything. That is creepy as hell and completely unnecessary. Theres is no reason to be live recording a small studio of all women working out. I left. That could happen anywhere, but lets be real, yes way more likely in Florida, home of many many creepy weirdos and temp home to all the sex tourists and pedos who visit. Not a safe space at all. -
At the heart of the questions about Roses marriage is the power he wielded over his bride-to-be, both financial power and power over her future educational and career prospects.
-
Humbert Humbert ended up in jail but was never prosecuted for CHILD RAPE. Because apparently no one really gives AF. Unless maybe its their own kid. Again, not ok.
-
The coverup with this is likely massive. Ill bet there has already been major efforts to destroy people who knew about this or discredit them at a minimum. Wealthy wives and family who knew are likely complicit as well. Just another example of how the wealthy and the powerful stomp all over and control everyone else and their lives. So much for freedom.
-

because the authorities need to be able to prosecute any of the cases successfully. So not sure what to say. All the epstein stuff stinks but I just don’t see how anything is going to be proven. Ghislaine doesn’t appear to be selling anyone out.
-
I dont believe for one second they dont know who most of those girls are or their whereabouts.
-
Too bad if they do t want to tell their family, Daddy raped a 13 year old. If Daddy raped a 13 yr old, Daddy needs to go to jail. DEAL WITH IT.
